Kidnapped

9 days until I go mad.

It's early morning. I wake up to the morning sun creeping in my window. Nine days. I have nine days to save my sister from the curse and take my rightful throne. I have to make a plan. I can't just stay here.

I exit my room, deep in thought, thinking about Star. Wondering if she has a plan. Personally, I'm at my wit's end. I just hope, despite my rocky past with her, she doesn't fall to that wretched curse...

I sit in my room, thinking. I have nine days. Nine days left of sanity before I go mad. What am I gonna do? If I don't think of something soon...

I decide to call Ponyhead. I walk up to my mirror.

"Call Ponyhead," I demand.

The mirror rings, and I get an automated message. I hear Heinous's voice, "we regret to inform you that this prince was in need of rehabilitation for being a bad influence on a princess. They have been taken to Heinous's new school, now sponsored by Moon Butterfly. They will not be accepting visitors or calls. Have a nice day."

The mirror goes to magical, purple static, and shuts down. Moon... man, she really is crazy. I just have to get someone else off the throne. I know there's still good in Moon. She's fighting the curse. I just have to find some way to save her from it. Maybe if I can get someone else to rule Mewni, it'll stop? I should at least be able to get her help, but for now, the task at hand...

I have to save Ponyhead, and I need someone who's dealt with Heinous before...

I sit with Marcie on the couch, watching TV. Jimmy VS the Forces of Darkness. Good show. We just finished the season two finale. Marcie is actually crying. "Why are you crying?" I ask.

"Why are you NOT!?!" she exclaims, "did we watch the same thing?"

"So?" I ask, "she should've said something sooner. Cut and dry, her fault. She had it coming."

"She was dropping hints for two seasons," Marcie argues.

"Kid had no formal education," I remind, "he's kinda thick. If she really cared about him, she'd had figured that out."

"That's insensitive. We both know the demon girlfriend was the real reason she didn't say anything."

"Eh, he's off to be king. It's better this way."

"But what about love?"

"This was Jimmy's goal the start. If she loves Jimmy, she'll let him go."

"I think Tiffany's a bad influence on you."

"If it's any consolation, she's on thin ice."

"Really?" Marcie sounds oddly hopeful, most likely cause she doesn't wanna deal with Tiffany anymore.

"Yeah," I shrug.

"Who would you ask out if you dumped her?" Marcie inquires with an odd look of hope. I wonder why.

"I guess..." I sigh, "uhhhhh... I'd stay single. Focus on my kingdom."

"Oh," Marcie looks away, "that's fair I guess."

My mirror rings with a call from Star.

"I gotta take this," I explain, "may be important. If I open a portal, I'll be back."

"Alright," Marci gets up, "I have to go prepare to earn my orange belt anyways. See ya later."

"See ya," I reply heading up to my room. I answer the call on my wall mirror.

"Hey Star," I greet without bitterness this time.

"Comet!" she exclaims, "how'd you break out of Heinous's school?"

"What's going on?" I demand.

"He got Ponyhead," Star explains, "and she's rebuilt her school! We have to help him!"

Fire.

Fire consumes my every thought.

I am filled with fear as I scratch my mark.

"No," I begin to shake, "I can't help. I'm sorry."

"It was Moon," Star adds, "she funded it."

"Sticking it to Moon," I smile, "in that case, here's what we do..."

We meet up outside the school two hours later.

"You got the stuff?" Star asks.

"Jim came through," I smile, holding a variety of illegal fireworks.

"Does he ever talk about me?" Star asks.

"A little," I reply, "why?"

"Uhhhh..." Star's face goes red.

I'm missing something here, but I have no idea what it is. Eh, it'll be fine.

"So," Star explains, "we rush with these capture Heinous, and take her to Tiffany."

"That's the plan," I smile, "but looking ahead, we need a plan for..."

"Let's not beat around the bush," Star sighs, "I have nine days left Comet. Nine, then my mind is gone. We need a plan."

"We'll think of something after we handle this," I reply, come on. Let's go!"

Star lights the fireworks and aims them at the magical crystal in one of the towers. My hands shake and my heart pounds as I watch the missile fly and approach its target, only to be stopped by a force field of some kind.

"OOOOKKKK," I break the silence after a moment, "that's bad. What else can we try?"

"I could sneak in," Star suggests, "but Moon would find out, and they think you're dead so you can't."

"Well," I shrug, "maybe we could try to look like someone else?"

"Hold on," Star smiles, "that gives me an idea. I cut my hair and we both go down there."

"You lost me," I sigh.

"Hear me out," Star explains, "we'll look like two of you. I mean, the hair is the dead giveaway. That and your mark, but we can hide that. We basically make Heinous think he's going crazy, capture him, and it'll be fine. Moon won't believe him if he calls her during the attack."

"Sounds good," I smile, "let's do this."

We sit and wait, watching for the next transport for the shields go down. As it passes, I notice Comet's cheeks glowing green. His hatred for Heinous shines through.

"Take it easy," I remind, "Ponyhead comes first."

"For you maybe," he replies, "but I'm going for Heinous."

"We gotta stick together," I remind, "or the plan won't work."

"Fine," Comet sighs, "we'll do things your way. We're gonna need those explosives until we take out that crystal."

"I know," Comet replies, "just shoot one at it when we're in."

The barrier goes down and we rush in. To my surprise, when the guards at the gate attack, Comet skillfully takes them out with his bare hands. I turn and shoot the crystal, activating our wands. We proceed to blast the guards as we free the princes from their rooms, however, with each blast Comet's glow grows brighter and brighter, eventually we find Ponyhead's cell, and by this point, Comet's glow is so bright that his whole face is bathed in an unnerving green light. As if, he's just about to go off.

"You OK?" I ask.

"I'll destroy the fire," he growls.

"Comet?" I ask, "come on, stay with me. Think happy thoughts."

Comet ignores me and blasts down Ponyhead's door.

"Let's go," he demands.

"Comet!" Ponyhead exclaims as I walk in, "and... Comet?"

"Long story," I explain, "I'm Star. He's Comet."

"I'm glad you're here," Ponyhead smiles, "both of you. Man, Heinous was in here about to mark me when the alarm went off. She called Moon and Moon hung up on him! Didn't believe him for a second! The look on his face as-"

"Mark?" I growl, with darkness in my thoughts, in my mind, in my heart. No fire. NO MORE FIRE. I WILL KILL THE ONE WHO MADE THE FIRE.

"Are you OK?" Ponyhead asks.

"Where is he?" I demand, all I can think about is the fear on his face as I barge into his office and strike him down. the dark spells begin to return to me, repressed before.

"Comet calm down," Star pleads, "you're... kinda dark right now. You need to-"

"I'll do it myself," I snap back before dashing off.

No more fire. Not when I'm done. I reach the top floor. I hear Star call out to me. "Comet!" she yells, "stop!"

She knows what I'm planning, but I'm gonna do it. I must. Only then maybe...

The burning will stop.

I blast the ground, creating a wall of darkness and proceed to barge into Heinous's office.

"Comet!" he roars.

"Corpse," I return.

"I'm gonna mark you where everyone can see," he laughs holding the hot metal.

"No," I growl, "today, your flame goes out. For good. Die."

I recall a dark spell. The darkest spell. I smirk and begin to speak it.

"I call the darkness unto me,

From deepest depths from Eath and Sea..."

I blast the wall of darkness down and we dash towards Heinous's office. When we arrive, we see Comet surronded by pure black magic, and Henious backing away in fear.

"Kid!" Heinous exclaims, "it's not worth it! You'll kill us all!"

"To blackest night I pledge my soul," Comet contiues, his eyes consumed by green light.

"Comet!" I plead, "stop! If you do this you'll..."

I take a deep breath, this is gonna hurt him, but it's for the best.

"If you do this you're no better than Moon!" I exclaim.

This stops Comet, he looks at me, and the glowing calms.

"Sorry," he apologizes, "it's just I thought of the fire and..."

"It's OK," I reply, "just... are you going dark?"

"I..." Comet sighs, "may have peeked at Eclipsa's chapter a little. Look, we need a plan. Heinous, you're going to jail in-"

"As long as it's far from you kid," his voice shakes, "fine by me."

"Good," Comet replies, "anyways, what do we do eight days from now?"

"Well," Ponyhead suggests, "you two look basically the same."

"Hmmm," I reply, "Comet, I think I know how to make you king..."

To be continued...
