James :D

(deleted old step, so here is another one. also deleted the fourth step :p)

Step 3. Attempt to avoid the school bullies and most likely fail.

I walk down the hallways, heading to the cafeteria. All of the sudden I feel the side of my body crash into the hard, cold surface of a locker. I shut my eyes to prevent tears from escaping and drop my books as I slide down, hitting the hard surface of the tile ground of the hallways. I hear laughing, footsteps, then silence. I slowly open my eyes and look around me. I gather all of my books and walk quickly to my locker. I place my books into the locker, slam it shut, lock it, then sprint away to the cafeteria. 

I step into line to buy my lunch. Once I get my lunch, I speed walk to the table where James sat with 3 other guys. Cathy, Maci, and Crystal join us. 

"Hey, Avaline!  The guys' names are Kai, Max, and Jace." James says as he points at a guy with light brown hair and deep blue eyes, then a guy with blonde hair with dark brown eyes, lastly he points to a guy with spiked black hair, and sky blue eyes.

"Oh, hi! I'm Avaline. These are my friends Cathy Maci and Crystal." I say to the guys.

Cathy pokes my arm as a turn to her.

"Thought you might wanna know, Jace is one of the biggest Casanovas in the schoo-" Cathy was cut off by the voice of Jace.

"Do you know my favorite letters in the alphabet? They are U R A Q T." Jake says to me.

In the corner of my eye, I saw what I thought was James shooting a look at Jace.

"You can stop now, please," I say to Jace and put my focus back on eating.

Instead of eating, I found myself staring at my food and thinking about the unknown person who slammed me against the wall.

"You ok?" James asks me softly so everyone else wouldn't hear.

"Not really I guess... I got slammed into a locker out of nowhere..." I reply softly.

"Carmen..." James whispers to himself.

"Who the heck is Carmen?" I whisper back.

"One of the popular girls who like me. I'll try to get her to not go after you." 

I sigh and take a few bites of my food.

I tune out the math teacher as I take a green gel pen and cross out step 3. I read my next step in my journal.

4.  If needed, get revenge on bullies, or ignore them.

Ring

I slam my journal shut, and gather all of my things. I walk out of the room and to my locker. While putting my stuff away, I find myself surrounded by 5 different girls. One of them steps forward and forcefully turns me to look at her.

"So, I see you are getting all buddy-buddy with my James." The girl, I assume is Carman, gives me a death glare while speaking.

"Oh, you must be Carman! Nice to meet you! Last time I checked, you can't own someone anymore." I reply without thinking.

"A smart arse I see. Stay away from my ex- err soon to be boyfriend." She says, staring at me so intently like she's staring into my soul. 

"Oh, so you can tell me what to do now?" I say to her just as she gets ready to leave.

BANG

I'm suddenly slammed and lifted up against my own locker.

"You keep hanging around him, you will regret it. That is a promise." She spits, and drops me to the floor just as she walks away.

I sigh, stand up, and walk towards the exit of the school. I realize I missed the bus. I start walking towards my house. A loud beep makes me jump and I turn and see James sitting in the driver's seat of a bright baby blue convertible.

"Hey, you need a ride?" James asks me.

I make my way over to the car and hop into the passenger's seat.

"Before I drive you home, we are going to Starbucks. I'm uh... meeting the guys there." James says to me and I nod in agreement.

We sit there in silence while he drives to Starbucks.

James parks the car, and we get out to go inside. I scan the building for Kai, Max, and Jace. James leads me to one of the booths and we sit down. I quickly realize that his friends are gonna be here at all.

"This is a setup. Kai, Max, and Jace aren't coming, are they?" I bluntly state.

James face turns a light red as I reveal his plan.

"Oh uh.... No th-they aren't..." James sheepishly states.

"It's fine. Next time you set me up, let's go to a place of my choice." I say reassuring him. "Plus, we are only hanging out as friends. Your girlfriend, Carman, would get upset if we were something more."

"Girlfriend?"

"Yeah. Carman basically killed me because we were hanging out and strongly implied she was your girlfriend."

"Oh, no! We aren't together. We dated once, and then she practically claimed me as if I was property."

"Oh, cool. So why did you set me up?" I change the subject.

"I uh... I just..." he mumbles something I cant make out.

"You just...?"

"I just... uh... wanted us to become better friends? Yes, become better friends! That's what I mumbled..."

I fake a cough in an attempt to cover up my laughter.

"Oh, by the way, would you mind if I were to prank your ex?" I ask, remembering step four.

"Go ahead, just don't get killed. She can really hold a grudge." James smiles.

For the rest of the time, we talk while I mentally plot my revenge against Carman. James pays for my coffee that I get before we leave after I argue with him. Once I get to my house, I say goodbye to James and walk around to the back of my house. I quickly hop over our fence that leads to the backyard. I unlock the back door and let myself in.

"Woof woof!" Scar, my big, very furry, old english sheepdog, belows in his deep voice.

I ruffle his fur and drop my bags on the floor. We flop on the couch, and I continue plotting my revenge against the bullies.
