Melody Pt.2
Hello Hello!!!! I'm back from the dead lmao! Hope you enjoy this chapter!
Larry's leg bounces as he sits in the waiting room of the therapist office. After the incident with Lau, he immediately scheduled a personal appointment with Melody needing to see her desperately. He'd fucked up badly and needed to get his emotions in check before he fixed it.
A couple of days ago:
"Fuck!" Larry yells gripping his afro tightly, turning on his heels he walks back into the house which now seems way too big with Lau gone. He takes it his phone and dials Lau leaving a voicemail, "Belle I so so sorry! I no mean to scare you, I sorry I yelled at you... I gonna talk to Melody oki? I give you some space and when you come back we talk for this oki? I-I I cook your favorite meal and we sit down and talk oki?... I love you Laurent"
He then hangs up immediately calling Melody afterwards, the phone rings twice before her voice is heard. "Larry?" She sounds confused as Larry nods his head as if she can see him, "Yeah, Hi Mel..." Melody is still confused as she speaks "Laurent already has an appointment scheduled unless you're calling to cancel" Larry shakes his head quickly.
"No No, I call to schedule one for me..." Silence fills the air for a few seconds before Melody speaks again. "Okay, Did something happen? You've never scheduled one before... I'm not turning you down I just want to know where your head is at." Larry nods his head a bit speaking softly, "I fucked up Mel... I fucked up and scared him badly... I need to speak with you before I apologize to him".
Melody writes everything down putting it in her notes with a nod. "Alright Larry, I can fit you in Monday at 10 AM how's that sound!" Larry sighs in relief running a hand through his afro. "Thank you Mel.. That's perfect" with that they hang up.
Larry sits on the couch making one last phone call before he'd get up to cook dinner. He sends Lau two hundred dollars to make sure he's covered calling Ray and Reggie immediately afterwards. Ray coughs a bit putting his blunt down gazing at the camera with squinted eyes, "Wassup Larry?"
Reggie on the other hand makes a certain face shaking his head "You fucked up didn't you?" This causes Larry to nod his head before sighing "Make the drop, we finish this shit tonight". Ray and Reggie ask no questions, they just nod and hang up leaving Larry with his thoughts.
Back to present day:
He nervously chews on his lip hearing his name be called a few seconds later. Standing to his feet he makes his way to the back, his head lowered in shame. Melody smiles a bit gesturing her hand towards the chair. "Hello Larry, have a seat" He sits down clearing his throat gazing up at her. "Hi..." She nods lifting her pen ready to take notes "Tell me everything Larry".
Taking a deep breath he begins solemnly "He thought I was cheating on him... He told me I was being secretive and no letting him in anymore which is true when I look back at it. I wasn't cheating on him I swear on my life, I was handling business and didn't want him involved in it... He could've gotten hurt..." He sighs a bit shaking his head.
"We got into an argument for it... He pack a bag and I follow him outside. I got so angry that he wanted for leave that I blacked out... I remember yanking on the car handle and hitting the window trying to get him to open the door... I lost my temper and scared him badly... I fucked up.." Larry finished talking not taking his eyes off of the wooden desk until he's done. He gazes at Melody trying to gauge her reaction.
She clears her throat but shows no sign of judgment "I'm glad that you are able to realize that you were wrong, I am also glad that you are remorseful and that you mean it. Laurent has been through a lot and has probably lost some trust in you because of this but... If he genuinely loves you and you genuinely love him then I believe you two can overcome this. I will be scheduling some anger management classes for you though"
Larry nods his head glancing at the clock realizing their time is now over. "Thank you Melody, I really appreciate this" Melody waves him off with a smile handing him the paper with the anger management sessions listed. "No need to thank me, I didn't really do anything... you figured everything out on your own" He smiles and leaves the office feeling slightly better but not completely, he wouldn't feel completely satisfied until Lau was back home with him
Where he belonged
Lau gripped the wheel so tight his knuckles ached. His phone sat on the passenger seat, screen dark, an empty silence radiating from it. He had almost answered Larry's call causing his mind to drift towards Jaden and the memories.
The thought made his stomach twist with disgust.
Jaden was dead. That man had already taken too much from him—had already left too many scars that never quite faded. He refused to let his mind go there, refused to let those memories crawl back up his throat like bile. So he swallowed them down and focused on the road.
He pulled into the lot of a fancy looking hotel right by his office, the kind of place you'd see in movies or tv shows. The extravagant sign buzzed brightly in the cold night air, casting flickering red light across his windshield. It was perfect.

Lau turned off the engine and sat in the silence, his heart still beating too fast. He kept expecting to see headlights in his rearview mirror, to hear Larry's voice booming through the night, dragging him back. But there was nothing. Just the hum of the traffic and the distant sound of people.
He grabbed his bag and stepped inside, the lobby smelling faintly of coffee and Lysol. A tired-looking clerk glanced at him with a smile as he slid his ID across the counter.
"Welcome to Hotel Lutetia Paris, How long are you staying Sir?" the man asked handing Lau his ID back. Lau tiredly smiles back placing his ID back into his wallet. "One night."
For now.
The key felt cold in his hand as he made his way down the narrow hallway. Finding the door to his suite he'd be staying in. He pushed it open, the suite was huge and pristine with a large king sized bed, a flat screen TV mounted onto the wall, a marble nightstand set with floating lamps and a comfy chair beside the bed.

The bathroom was equally beautiful with a large mirror, a marble double sink, a marble step up tub paired with a walk in shower on the other side and the toilet. It looked unreal.

The living room to the suite was all white with two sofas facing each other, a marble coffee table and another couch in front of the large beautiful window.

He locked the door behind him and let out a shaky breath, pressing his forehead against the black wood.
Safe.
But as he turned and stared at his reflection in the dark window, he couldn't shake the feeling that running wasn't enough.
Larry wasn't the type to let things go.
And that thought alone made it impossible to close his eyes.
