Silent Storm
Hello my lovesssss I'm back with another chapter after a long needed break!! Hope you enjoyyyyyy
"Larry I can no keep doing this! You gone all night and then you act like I no exist... I no know what you want from me!" Lau didn't yell often. He hated confrontation and arguing but he needed answers and Larry wasn't giving them. What was going on with him lately? He had an appointment with Mel soon that'd he'd be attending alone due to Larry having to work
Or so he says
It had been plaguing him all week to the point he seemed distracted at work while speaking to clients and that wasn't a good look for him. He just wanted to be let in, he wanted to help his love but Larry wasn't budging. "Lau just leave it alone oki!? I'm stressed enough without you on my back!" Lau stared at him in disbelief, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. All he wanted was to be included in Larry's mind, to share his load and this is what he got in return. He nodded his head chewing on his bottom lip "Oki... I no ask again" and with that he walked up the stairs into the bedroom. He stood in the center for a while gazing around at interior... all the memories they made in this room, this house in general.
Lau could feel his heart shattering a bit, the pain and hurt from everything they had built up was now boiling over and crashing like sea water onto rocks. He couldn't do this anymore, not again. As much as he loved Larry he refused to let himself spiral down that path again, he was no longer a personal punching bag. Sighing to himself he made his way over to the closet, grabbing a bag he began packing some of his clothes. He was now deep in thought thinking maybe they just needed space and time away from each other at the moment, they were lovers yes but they were also twins.
You can only stand being around your twin for so long before you two start to clash... now that he thought about it, that went for any sibling relationship. He shook his head ridding himself of those thoughts putting his game face on, if he knew Larry like he thought he did
Larry wasn't letting go without a fight.
He had to be ready and brace himself, this wasn't going to be easy and would probably spark another fight. Heading back downstairs. He glanced around looking around for Larry making sure the coast was clear before he walked out of the door throwing his bags into the car. He sighed in relief shutting the door, turning around to climb into the driver's seat he came face to face with his love causing him to jump.
When the hell did he come out here and where the hell did he come from?
"Belle? Where you go?" Larry asked softly, his expression reading confusion and hurt. He gently grabbed Lau's arm silently asking why his love was leaving, Lau swallowed harshly softly removing his arm from Larry's hold. "I can no do this anymore". He stated softly before climbing into the car, he started it up rolling down the window enough to talk to Larry
This wasn't his first rodeo
"You gone all the time, you no let me in, you yell and lash out at me when all I want is to help... I need to be alone for awhile.. I no do this again... I can no go through what I went through with Jaden" he gazed away from his mirror image taking a shaky breath, he didn't want to cry right now and he knew that if he looked at Larry he'd get back out of the car. "I no question you anymore, I can no wonder if you lying to me anymore... I no even want to know anymore" he sniffed clearing his throat, he was determined not to cry as he spoke. "I no beg you anymore, I-I I tired and I need space from you." He took another deep breath trying to calm himself down enough to gaze at Larry, what he saw would forever be imprinted into his brain. Larry didn't even look like himself in this moment, his eyes filled with rage and his face twisted up into a scowl. Lau, for the first time was scared of Larry...
Who was he staring at
Larry placed a hand on the window and one on the handle of the car yanking on it forcefully. He glared speaking in an eerily calm voice "Open the door Bebe". Lau was so glad he'd locked the doors and made the ultimate decision to crack the window instead of rolling it down all the way. He shook his head leaning away from Larry almost sitting on the center console, Larry slammed his fist against the glass his voice deeper than usual "Open. The fucking. Door Laurent".
Lau's pulse quickened as Larry's fist left a faint mark on the glass, the sound of it reverberating through the car like a gunshot. The eerie calm that had settled into Larry's voice moments before was gone, replaced with something darker...something Lau had only glimpsed once or twice, but had always been able to calm. This time, though, he wasn't so sure.
"I said, open the door, Lau!" Larry barked again, his calm facade shattering completely, eyes narrowing into slits as his hand moved to bang harder on the window.
Lau's fingers fumbled, clutching the steering wheel in desperation as he pressed his back into the seat. His breath came in shallow gasps. This wasn't his Larry. He didn't recognize the person in front of him...eyes that were once warm, the safe haven he'd trusted for years, were now cold, almost predatory. A fear, deep and primal, settled in Lau's stomach, making his whole body tense.
"No," Lau finally found his voice, hoarse, trembling. He pressed his foot harder on the brake, as if that alone would stop him from falling into the abyss he saw growing between them. "Larry, I can no do this anymore. I-I love you, but this..." he motioned helplessly to the space between them, "this is no us."
Larry's jaw tightened. His chest rose and fell with quick, angry breaths, his hand still gripping the car handle. He leaned forward, his voice lowering into something almost menacing, "You think you can just walk away from me? From us?"
Lau swallowed hard, fighting back tears. "You already walked away from me, Larry. Every night you gone. I no even know where you go anymore. I can no keep pretending like I no notice... that I no feel you slipping away."
Larry's eyes flashed, and Lau could feel his temper rising. He remembered Jaden...how easily things had spiraled out of control back then, how he had promised himself he would never let anyone hurt him like that again. But now, it felt like he was living the same nightmare, just with a different face.
"Lau," Larry leaned in, pressing his forehead against the window. "No do this. You no know what you talking about. You no know what I've been dealing with." His voice was quieter now, but no less dangerous.
Lau's hands shook, gripping the wheel tighter. He wanted to believe Larry...to believe there was an explanation for all the late nights, for the distance between them. But the walls Larry had built around himself were too high, too thick. There were secrets in those walls
ones that Lau wasn't sure he wanted to uncover anymore.
"I ask you to let me in, Larry," Lau whispered. "You no did. You still no do." His throat tightened, the pain of it almost choking him. "I can no live like this... I can no be the only one trying."
Silence fell between them, the air thick with unspoken words, unshed tears. The person in front of him felt like a stranger right now, one he didn't know how to reach. With a deep breath, Lau slowly turned the key in the ignition, the engine humming to life.
Larry's expression darkened, his hand still on the handle, pulling as if his sheer will could force the door open. "Lau, no. You no leave."
For a split second, Lau considered getting out of the car, confronting him face to face. But the way Larry's eyes had shifted, the simmering rage bubbling just beneath the surface...it was enough to hold him back.
He had to go, before things escalated further.
"I have to," Lau murmured, the pain in his chest threatening to consume him. "I no survive if I stay."
The words hung in the air like a death sentence. Before Larry could react, Lau threw the car into reverse, pulling out of the driveway faster than he'd intended. His heart raced as he glanced in the rearview mirror, catching one last glimpse of Larry standing there, fists clenched at his sides, his face twisted in anger.
For a moment, Lau thought he saw something else behind the rage...something that looked almost like fear, or regret. But it was too late. He was already driving away.
As the distance between them grew, Lau's tears finally spilled over. He pressed his hand to his mouth, sobbing quietly as the weight of what he'd just done crashed over him. He had left his brother, his lover, the person he'd shared his life with. But deep down, he knew it had to be done.
Because whatever Larry was hiding, it had already torn them apart.
He ran a hand through his fro as he drove around just needing to clear his head for a bit, he'd stay at a hotel tonight and figure it out in the morning but he couldn't stay there a second longer. He refused to go through that cycle again, that cycle of feeling helpless and small compared to his lover... No he's not doing that again.
He'd die before that happened
You can't save everyone and it can't rain all the time... a rose needs rain and sunlight to grow. Take a moment to sit in your rain for a bit but don't ignore your sunshine
