Chapter Three: The Journey

Max walked out of the gas station and saw the sun was rising, as it usually did in the mornings.

Max started to walk as he held his baseball bat in his right hand as he walked down the deserted highway to New Orleans

Max continued as he was in his Sixth mile as he kills more infected. He saw on the same mile, there was an abandoned train station.

Max decided he was going to see if he could find any supplies inside.

He found three rags, a bag of explosives and a bottle of alcohol.

He takes his backpack off and crafts two bandages as he sighed.

The sound of an infected was heard nearby and he stayed quiet and stood still, in the same position he was.

He gets his baseball bat but saw a empty beer bottle. He picks it up and saw the infected was getting closer.

He throws it in the opposite direction from where he was, causing the infected to be startled and followed the sound of the broken bottle.

Max took that chance to run out and back onto the street.

Max sighed as he saw that it was empty, yet he wasn't alone. He continues his journey down the road as he noticed a car that's lights were on.

He walks towards the car, which was a 1969 Dodge Charger r/t supercharger. He was so excited and noticed that it still had some gas but not enough.

He gets inside and puts the car in first gear and speeds down the road.

Max remembered that his dad taught him how to drive a car. So he took his advice and drove slow, to consume gas until he reached a gas station.

About into his eighth mile, he found a gas station and it was about midday.

Max left the gas nuzzle inside the gas tank and looked for supplies. But was greeted by at least twelve infected.

Max took out his pistol and starts shooting at all twelve infected monsters.

As he shoots, one of the infected scratches Max, making him groan in pain as he shoots the infected in its head.

He grabbed his home-made bandage and wraps it over his scarred arm and groans louder as the alcohol stings in the wound.

He scavenges through the entire gas station and found a new weapon, which was a sniper rifle, and two hundred and fifty spare parts.

Max puts everything in his bag and holds the sniper rifle in his arms.

As he looked around for more supplies, he finds a workbench with three different tool kits and started to work on the two weapons he had.

He upgrades his ammo capacity on the rifle and on his pistol. His pistol can now hold fourteen bullets and his rifle can hold three with an upgraded scope.

Max was very thankful that his father showed him everything, otherwise he wouldn't be able to know how to control a weapon.

Max finishes and went back to the car, removing the gas nuzzle out and closes the gas tank. He starts the car and speeds away, noticing that the gas station exploded.

He slammed on the brakes and looks back. He was so glad he wasn't inside when the gas station exploded. He didn't even know the gas station was rigged with that much explosives.

It looked like the fourth of July as how everything was exploding in that gas station.

Max speeds off, feeling his heart beating fast, thinking of what could've happened to him if he stayed inside.
