Chapter 29.

Abiola's POV

I was about to close my room door, but it got hooked. I looked up to see Tobi, then looked down and saw his foot. He pushed open the door and walked in.

"Tobi, just leave. Please!" I cried out.

"Listen to me, atleast you slapped me already." He said touching his cheek.

"I don't care and I'm not sorry. Just leave!" I snapped, but he just looked at me. I gave up trying to chase him out and sat on my bed, face buried in my palms. I heard his footsteps coming closer to me and I looked up at him. He squatted in front of me and tried to hold my hand, but I moved away from him. He rubbed his face and looked at me.

"Please, listen to me." He said, grabbing my hands firmly.

"I don't want to." I hicupped. He stood up and walked out. I heard the front door slam close and I knew he had left. As much as I wanted to know why they played me like that, I wasn't ready.

Two months later

Abiola! Are you ready?" Konyii asked walking into my room, her dark red satin off the shoulder gown that had a split flowing behind her.

It was finally our graduation, one month torture of exams and heartbreak. I had to push through my exams all the while, not letting anything to distract me. Wale has no idea what's going on, neither did I let Tobi explain anything.

My parents had located me with the help of Aunty Funmi, she figured I didn't let my parents know and she brought them over. My mom hugged me tight, she was looking lean and fragile. She was too stressed of my whereabouts and decided she wouldn't eat until I was found. My dad did things he could do, until aunty Funmi blew my cover and I'm really happy. His wife though, she's still trying to get me to like her, but all her efforts are futile. I dont care anymore.

"Almost." The make up artist said applying my eye liner.

"Tobi would salivate all through, just looking at you." Konyii said when I stood up. I looked at myself in the mirror and I smiled, but realizing what she said, I rolled my eyes.

"Are you guys ready!" My mom and aunty Funmi came into the room with trays.

"Yes." Konyii and I said at the same time, making us giggle.

"Look at them." My mom closer, smiling and gave me a peck.

"I hope that lipstick doesn't come off before your ceremony starts." Aunty funmi said, glaring at Konyii and we realized what she meant and bursted out laughing.

"Don't worry, let's keep on hoping." Konyii said to spite her mom more.

"Look at them, wasn't it just yesterday they got into uni and now, they'll be graduating." My mom said sniffing. Oh, here comes the dramatic woman I know so well.

"Come here mummy." I hugged her tight and Konyii joined the hug making aunty Funmi do the same. Aunty Funmi should get ready for her own tears when the ceremony is done. I just can't wait.

We walked downstairs to see my dad and his wife standing there. My eyes caught hers and held for some minutes as if trying to read her before she looked away. I wonder how someone older than me would be this intimidated by me, not as if I could do anything to her. We walked to the sitting room and stood by eachother, my dad didn't say anything, but I could see the tears in his eyes. I tried to ignore not but I just couldn't so I ran to him and hugged him tight. He didn't hesitate to return it.

"I missed my princess." He muttered in my ear and I smiled back.

"I missed you too." I said and laughed, pulling away from him.

"Do we need to start afresh?" My dad asked, pointing to his wife with his jaw. She didn't see it because she wasn't looking at us.

"I'm Abiola, your husband's daughter." I said smiling too wide for my own good. She looked at me and smiled back.

"I'm Fikayo, your dad's second wife." She replied. I rolled my eyes mentally. Who cares. I faked a smile and walked back to stand beside Konyii.

"Sorry, we're late. Bola was looking for a sandal she kept in her bag." Tope said panting. She looked at me and smiled, then looked at Konyii. She and Bola shared a glance and whistled so loud, I thought my eardrums would burst.

"You guys look so cute matching!" Bola cooed.

"Ayo and Tobi won't get their eyes off you guys for a moment!" I blushed but quickly looked away, in other not to get caught. My phone rang and I brought it out of my gowns secret pocket, I was only taking the bag for fashion. It was Wale calling me, I would be making it official to the fool that he was playing me all along. I picked it, it would be nice to still act dumb till I call the pretend relationship off. I now understood why Konyii never liked him.

We heard voices coming in and we turned around to see Tobi and Ayo walking in. They made sure to come and since it's a Saturday, they can make it. I locked eyes with Tobi, making me to notice how his eyes raked me from head to toe. I suddenly started feeling shy and cautious. Our eyes locked again and I felt like we were the only ones there. We finally looked away from eachother when Tope tapped my shoulders and everyone was laughing at us. I walked outside first to ease the embarrassment I was feeling. Holding my gown high, so I don't trip.

——————————

We got to the venue and started with greeting our course mates and lecturers. We wore our graduation gowns and caps and went to the space in the corer made specially for us. Me and Konyii had to go our separate ways, because of the different courses. I looked at where my parents were seated and my gaze locked with Tobi's for the trillionth time that day. I looked away, only to see Wale coming in with a bouquet of flowers. I rolled my eyes and turned to the lecturer that was saying something, I wasn't listening and when it was time to go out and throw our caps, I got excited. This just got fun.

We all walked outside, our parents following behind us. This time, we didn't stay differently because of different courses, we stayed together.

"In three..... Two...... One!" We all threw our caps, smiling widely and cheering. Our parents also cheered for us clapping. I turned to Ayo and he nodded his head, I smiled widely. It's time.

"Babe! Look." I called Konyii, making her turn to me.

"What?" She asked as I was smiling. Everyone was already gathering around.

"OK, turn back around." I said still beaming widely. She looked at me weirdly and turned around. I quickly brought out my phone to record. Ayo got on one knee and started.

"Where do I start from?" He asked chuckling, his face held many emotions. Many people around him chuckled, he rubbed his face and breathed out. "You've been a a very amazing person in my life and you've kept up with lots of things from me and I can't thank you enough. I really don't know what to say, you're just..." He looked at her and she already had tears in her eyes, I also had tears. Someone tapped me and handed me a handkerchief and I collected it before turning to see Tobi smiling at me. "Will you marry me and do the honor of carrying my last name?" He opened a small box to reveal a diamond ring. Konyii couldn't hold it anymore as she bursted out crying, saying yes. It was enough for the whole crowd to go wild. I didn't know when I started jumping in the heels I was wearing, I was so happy. I ran and hugged her.

"Congratulations baby!!" I said.

"Thank you. You knew about it!" She smiled at me, tears still in her eyes.

"If I don't give a go ahead, he wouldn't dare take you away from me." We both laughed, before we were called to leave for our dinner.

OK, so I'm a little down, but had to drop this. We have a few chapters left, im so happy. I just want to start my new book already.
