Listless
Stumbling upon wastelands,
I'm no coward.
I've grown strong
in the forgotten hour.
Where tiger lilies
no longer sing,
and cheshire tails
no longer swing.
Others fall weak
upon checkered tile,
but I have been here
for quite a while.
And I've been walking
for many a mile,
ages since sun has
graced its smile.
They who come from
lands too bright
cripple and rot in
ash-ridden night.
But I was here before the sun.
I was here when I was young.
I was raised in this abyss
that turns everything
to listlessness.
