Chapter 2
Roman Miller pictured above.

I don't think my shorts and crop top were going to cut it in the British Weather, I thought as I stared out of the car window at the pelting rain and grey cloudy skies. I could practically feel the optimism leave my body at an alarming rate as the weather brought my mood down even more.
The flight to get here wasn't too terrible after all, Izzy was still being moody but what more could you expect from her. The 5 hour drive from London to the Welsh countryside is what was killing me. Me and Izzy had lost count of how many time we played 'I Spy', there are only so many car parts and nature based things we could think of before giving up.
So I'm settling on admiring at the rolling hills and weird cottages as we cruised through the winding country lanes and soon after I felt my eyes droop as the jet lag hit me like a ton of bricks.
*****
All the hustling and bustling hit my ears before I was being shook awake.
"Get up, you fat shit," Izzy huffed as she pushed my shoulder for the last time. I sighed and rubbed the sleep from my eyes and watched as she hopped out of the car. I gently nudged her ass with my foot making her go sprawling over the driveway.
"This fat shit can still beat you up, bitch," I snickered. She got up from the ground and flipped me her middle finger before storming off inside the house. I know I really shouldn't piss her off even more but it's so easy to get a rise out of her for my amusement.
I clambered out of the car with as much grace as a new born baby deer and looked at the two storey red brick house in front of me that was now our new home.

I stared in awe for a few minutes before noticing my mother waving at me to come in through the bay window downstairs. I quickly ran to the back of the car to check if my suitcase was still there and it wasn't, must already be in the house. I shrugged and made my way down the driveway and through the double doors inside.
I was greeted by pristine white marble floors, a gigantic chandelier hanging between two staircases on either side of the hallway with the ceiling stretching into the 2nd floor. The kitchen was to my left with black granite tops, white gloss cupboards and decorated with silver kitchenware. The carpet clad living room was to my right with 3 black sofas surrounding a marble coffee table and a tall fireplace with a TV above it on the wall.
"Ivy sweetie, you wouldn't be able to do your deal old dad a favour, would you please?", my dad asked sweetly with his hand tucked together under his chin feigning innocence.
Deep down I wanted to go 'fuck no' and go crawl into bed because today had exhausted me but realising I wouldn't have anything to sleep on yet made me mutter, "I suppose so."
"You're a star. I know I can always count on you cause your unsurprisingly sister said no."
"How unusual of her," I said while rolling my eyes making my dad chuckle.
"Right so, I need a few things from the hardware store. Don't worry I'll write a list because I know you'll have no clue what to look for," he stated, eliciting a scoff from myself. "I'd go myself but I have to go and see a few old friends."
I nodded as he started writing a list of things I needed to get.
20 minutes later I managed to make it to the store in one piece after a few near misses on the roads. It's so confusing driving on the other side but I need to get used to it and fast. I quickly ran across the parking lot as the rain still poured around me, splashing up on to my bare legs making me shiver slightly.
I wandered around the store for a 5 minutes before I gave up pretending to know what I was doing and decided to ask the next person I saw for help. I turned down an isle to see a boy around my age bending down to grab something off the shelf, he had on an orange jacket which was the same colour as the store sign outside so I assumed he worked here.
I breathed a sign of relief and shouted, "Excuse me!"
The boy seem started by my shout and resulted in him losing his balance and tumbling to his side on the ground. My eyes widened as I rushed over and held my hand out to help him, "Oh my god, are you okay?"
A laugh escaped his mouth followed by his deep voice, "Yeah, I'm good." He grabs my hand and I go to pull him up but he's already up and standing in front of me. I hyper aware of our hands touching as I pull my eyes up to meet his which are a shade of baby blue and trail my eyes along his jaw which supports just the right amount of stubble.
I can see his rosy lips start to move and it snaps me out of my trance, "...take a picture with you if you wanna keep looking after I leave?"
He smirks as I scoff as a response as I realise he's the first British guy who was actually good looking in this place.
"Well, I don't know what boys you've been looking at but I'm going to take that as a compliment," he laughs out as I mentally face palm myself.
Stop speaking your thoughts, Ivy. It literally never helps anything.
"Fuck, sorry. Oh god, I'll find someone else. I really don't fancy embarrassing myself anymore today," I say as I turn on my heel to get the hell out of there but my feet had a different idea as my shoe catches on my ground and lets me go sprawling over the floor.
I groan as my ass hits the hard floor and knew immediately that it was going to be sore for the rest of the day. The guy above me starting laughing and I don't just mean chuckling, I mean keeled over clutching his stomach with tears in his eyes.
I'm officially well and truly over today.
I go to get myself up off the floor and he grabs my arm and helps me to my feet before saying, "So now since we've both fallen and helped each other off the floor, I feel like we should probably know each others names."
I smile at his words and extend my hand, "I'm Ivy Bennett, nice to meet you..."
"Roman Miller, the pleasure is mine," he says while taking a mock bow. "Didn't you need help with something?"
"Uh yeah, I have to pick a few things up for my dad but I have no clue where or what any of this is," shaking the list in front of me which Roman snatches, his eyes scanning it quickly before walking off down the isle.
I'm still rooted to my spot as he pops his head around the end of the isle shouting, "You coming, princess?"
I raise an eyebrow at him and negotiate, "Aslong as you never call me Princess again."
He chuckles and continues his journey to the next isle and it hits me he's taken my list so I huff and set off to find him.
We had got to know each other a lot in the half hour it had taken us to get everything. Well more like I'd spilled my life story as he was the first person to listen to me since getting here and found out Roman has lived here all his life resulting in him appointing himself as my unofficial tour guide.
Roman helped me load all the items into the trunk of my car and got a text message as I turned to take he trolley back to the front of the store. Making my way back to the car I could see Roman smiling down at his phone.
"You don't fancy a drink by any chance do you?" he said before locking his phone and sliding it in his pocket.
Before thinking of a logical response and overthinking what his words could mean I rush out, "More like 10."
He chuckled as he walked backwards toward his white range rover, "Sound, I'll text you where to meet me and my friends tonight for a few drinks. Sound good?"
Just realising what I've agreed to, meeting a bunch of strangers for drinks on a country I'm not familiar with, I quickly try and back track, "I still have loads to do at home!"
He faked not hearing me and got in his car, starting it up and slowing down as he passed me, he rolled his window down and said, "See ya later princess."
"Roman!" I shouted as he sped out of the car park.
