{Amber's POV}
I ran until my lungs felt like they'd explode and my muscles were screaming. All of a sudden, I felt a light tap on my orange shoulder.
"You got me, Icey," I said to my best friend.
He just laughed and sat down. "I told you not to call me that!"
"Heh, looks like that didn't work," I retorted.
"Well," he started, "looks like we'd better get moving. We don't want t-."
Ice was cut short by a flash or darkness. We both felt a sharp pain. For me, it was in my eye, and for Ice, on his belly and side. He fell over immediately and blood started dripping from his pearl-white teeth, making them red.
"I-Ice......" Was all I managed to say before I passed out.

I woke up to the heavy breathing of Ice.
"Ice! Urk... The pain... A-are you okay?" I franticly asked.
"A-Amber... I-I won't... I can't talk for long... Please.. Please, promise me this," he asked. "Take care of your-your...self..."
He died before I got to say goodbye. My sanity shook like a house during an earthquake. I couldn't say anything. My best friend had just died....

Sorry it had to get dark so quickly. Promise that next chapter will be longer.
