Your POV

I awake to the sun shining in my eyes, with a little help from my phone blasting the Star Wars theme. Groaning, I sit up.

Fuck. I forgot about work. I get out of bed and walk out into the kitchen to find Louise making coffee/tea/hot chocolate. Two bowls of Shreddies sit on the counter.

"Good morning, Mrs Howell," she smirks.

"Oh, hush," I sarcastically grouch as I try to telepathically tell the butterflies in my stomach to 'calm the fuck down, it's still too early.' I pick up the two bowls and walk out of the kitchen and into the living room, followed by Louise carrying our drinks.

I sit down in a seat at the dining table and Louise sits across from me.

"So, what's the plan for today?"

"Well, I have work and when I get home I'm just going to have a lazy night. Of course, spend time with Dan."

Louise sighs. "I still can't believe that you and Dan are together! I remember the way he looked at you at the awkward fancy meal. And he looked so sad when you left."

"Yeah. And without you guys there, I would've flipped the table and started screeching while banging my chest like King Kong."

"Was it really that boring?" I nod. "Damn. You're lucky we showed up. For that reason and your boyfriend." We hear a knock at my front door.

"And here he is now." I stand up and rush down the stairs. And, of course, when I open the door, there he is, towering over me. His puppy dog eyes light up as his lips curl into a smile, revealing those gorgeous dimples. I stand on my tiptoes and ruffle his hobbit hair. "Hello, cutie."

"Hello, you." He leans down and presses his warm lips to mine. I wrap my arms around his neck and return the kiss. He breaks the kiss and smiles down at me. "How are you this morning?"

"Feeling like a queen. Woke up, Louise had made me breakfast and coffee/tea/hot chocolate and now my amazing boyfriend is here."

"Amazing? Is there something you and Phil haven't told me yet?" I laugh.

"Oh no. Busted." The two of us laugh. "Come in. Have you had breakfast yet?"

"No," he replies as he shuts the door behind him and begins to walk upstairs.

"Okay, what would you like?"

"What do you have?"

"Well, unless Phil snuck into my house and ate all my Lucky Charms, I should have some. Or Shreddies."

"Lucky Charms?"

"Sure. What would you like to drink?"

"Hot chocolate?" I nod and walk into the kitchen. I take out a bowl and then walk over to the cupboard that contains my mug collection. I look through until I take out a Groot mug, and place it on the bench. (I actually have a Groot mug and a Rocket mug (which is too hard to drink out of)(also if you have no idea who these two are I am ashamed))

I make the hot chocolate and pour a bowl of Lucky Charms and walk out into the living room.

"For you, sir," I say in a posh voice as I place Dan's breakfast in front of him.

"Thank you, madam. May I offer you a tip?" I giggle and nod. Dan wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close to him, planting a kiss on my lips.

"Okay, it was cute, but now you're just making me jealous," Louise, who is across from us, sulks.

"One day, Lou. And it will be magical," I reassure her. I sit back down in my seat next to Dan and finally begin to have my breakfast.

~Mini time skip~

"Have a nice day," I smile at the woman and her little girl as the two of them walk to a table.

I sigh and rest my head in my hands on the counter. A bead of sweat trickles down my forehead. I wipe it away with the back of my hand and start on their milkshakes. After I'm done, I walk it over to their table and return behind the counter, where I just wander around.

As I play with a pair of spoons, hitting them on the surface of the counter, a familiar tune fills the room.

I never thought that,

You would be the one to hold my heart...

Dan's words play in my head.

"We're dancing to our song before we run back to the hotel."

I concentrate on the song, taking in every word, and realising that Dan couldn't have chosen a better song. A small smile forms, but fades as a salty tear slides down my cheek.

He's right. It is our song.

"Y/N?" I wipe the tear away and turn around.

"Oh, hi, John."

"So," he sits on the counter, "how was Australia?"

"It was amazing." The smile comes back as I think of my trip.

"And are you and Dan...?" I look at him, confused for a second.

"Me and Dan- oh, OH! Yeah, we are," I blush.

"'Thank you, my amazing boss, for letting me have time off just because you ship S/N probably more than all my friends.' You're welcome, Y/N. Now, if it's not too much, can I have some details?" I chuckle.

"Well, technically we weren't official until last night-"

"What do you mean 'technically'? And what do you mean 'last night'? What happened to your 'last night in Australia, and last night for an excuse to be close to each other' date?"

"We did go on a date on the last night. I guess it went a bit wrong. There was still romance, and we did kiss, but he had a few drinks and I had no idea if he was being genuine about his feelings- and what do you mean 'excuse to be close to each other' date?"

"Oops. Anyway, tell me about last night."

"Well, it was very cheesy, so brace yourself," I tell him all about our date. The restaurant, the park, the kiss in the spot we first met. When I finish, I wait for John's reaction. His jaw drops and he appears to be speechless.

"Well, you were right about it being cheesy, but, damn. That has got to be one of the most adorable stories I've ever heard," he coos and pretends to wipe away a tear. "I should ask your Danny for some tips."

I raise my eyebrow. "Have you got your eye on someone?" He nods. "Who?" He points over to the table which is occupied by the woman and the little girl I served earlier. I smirk. "I'm hoping you mean the woman, not her daughter." He lightly punches my shoulder and chuckles.

"Her name is Marilyn. She's been coming in everyday since you went to Australia. I've talked to her every now and then. She's just gone through a divorce. Her husband ran off with some little whore." I examine the woman. Her beautiful waist-length, orange hair is left out, and although it's quite frizzy, makes me jealous. Her skin is pale and covered in freckles. She's rather thin with a round face and a button nose and a few faint wrinkles here and there, she looks to be in her thirties. As for her clothing, she wears jeans, a grey t-shirt and brown, leather boots.

My eyes then drift to her daughter, who looks exactly like her mother. Only she wears a black sundress covered in colourful flowers, sparkly, black flats and a little flower crown on top of her head. Her orange locks are braided, unlike her mother's.

"She has an adorable daughter," I smile warmly.

"Yeah. Her name is Drew. She's five years old." I begin to imagine my own child, with my eyes and deep dimples, along with curly brown hair, just like Dan- wait, what? I blush. Why am I thinking about this now?

"I might ask her on a date," John says, breaking me out of my trance.

"Go for it. You two would be cute together. Hmmm, Johnilyn!" John rolls his eyes.

"I'll do it then. Anyway, back to work." I sarcastically salute and go back to the register.

~Time skip~

"Okay, Hazel Grace?"

"Okay."

I sniffle and wipe my wet cheeks.

"You okay there?" I look up at Dan who chuckles at the sight of my puffy eyes.

"I told you I hate the ending of The Fault in Our Stars and you still made me watch it," I sulk.

"You agreed to watch it, don't blame me. I should be grumpy at you, your jeans aren't wet with tears, are they?"

I giggle. "Your fault, Dan."

"And your fault for deciding to use my lap-"

"Which is very comfortable, by the way," I interrupt.

"-as a pillow," he finishes.

"Thanks for not thinking of Evan Peters while I did, by the way, not sure that I'd like you having an erection-"

"Okay, change of subject. How was work?" He begins to play with my hair, blushing. I laugh at him.

"It was good. Our song started playing."

Dan raises an eyebrow. "So it is our song?"

I nod. "Well, it does work. Another thing I heard at work, does 'last night for an excuse to be together date' sound familiar to you?"

"Yes it does. For the time we were still in the friend zone, if I was this close to you at any time, Phil would always tease me." I laugh.

"The whole trip wasn't just for that last date, was it?"

"Well," I slap his arm. "I'm kidding. Yes, maybe that last night in Brisbane was the first thing to cross my mind when I thought of bringing you with us. But there was much more. Seeing that smile on your face, your eyes full of wonder- it was adorable."

"Well it was an amazing experience, thank you," I reply. The two of us go silent, just enjoying being in each other's company.

"I still have to tell my fans about us," Dan mutters. I squirm uncomfortably as a knot forms in my stomach.

"Dan, I need to tell you-"

"I know, Y/N. I've seen it all."

"I'm sorry, Dan. I don't think they'll ever like me," I frown.

Dan shakes his head. "That's just how fans are. They'll warm up to you. It takes time to adjust. It's kind of like when the Doctor regenerates or when he gets a new companion. You're so used to the previous one that you'll really dislike the new one. But eventually, you'll get used to this new Doctor or companion, and when they leave, you'll be upset about them. Although, I don't think you'll be leaving anytime soon. Anyway, my point is, give them time."

"But what if they never like me, Dan? I don't want you to be mad at your fans, or your fans to stop loving you because of me."

"If they don't like you, it's their problem. You know why? Because I love you. I don't care what anyone else thinks of you. You're the one I love and, hopefully, the only one I'll ever love. With the exception of my family."

"And Phil," I chuckle.

"Fine, and Phil," he smiles back. Suddenly, a yawn escapes my lips. I feel Dan's arms slide under my legs and neck. He stands up from the couch, holding me close to his chest. "Bed time." He makes his way out of the living room and down the hall, towards my bedroom. When we get there, he stops by my door.

"I got it," I say as I reach my hand out and turn the handle.

"Thank you. Wouldn't want to drop you."

"Wouldn't want you to drop me, either. Which, I am surprised you haven't done yet, well done."

Dan looks at me, pretending to be offended. "Who do you think I am? Phil?" I laugh and Dan places me on the bed. I watch as the danisnotonfire literally skips to the other side of the bed.

"And here we have Daniel James Howell letting his inner 6-year-old girl out," I try to impersonate David Attenborough, earning a glare from Dan.

Still glaring at me, he removes his shirt and poses as if he has large biceps. "6-year-old girl Daniel James Howell has evolved into manly Daniel James Howell."

"Get into bed, dork," I chuckle. He jumps onto the bed and turns the lamp off. I then feel a pair of large, warm, and definitely not muscly, arms wrap around my waist, followed by warm and chapped lips on mine.

"Goodnight, you."

"And goodnight to you, too."

"I love you," he whispers one last time.

"I love you, too."
