Rain dripped from the rooftops as she ran through the wet and gloomy streets of Belle. Tears streamed down her face as each step made her draw closer to her destination. The sky seemed to cry with her as a new wave of rain began to crash down on her. Thunder boomed in the blackened sky. Lightning lit the sign of the building that she stopped in front of. "We're here." She whispered. She knelt down on a step and took her precious bundle out of her jacket. It was a baby. She brushed the baby's hair to the side and kissed her on her forehead. "I love you Athena don't forget that. Your dad and I love you so much and that is why we are giving you up. We are dangerous people Athena and I hope that this will keep you out of it when the time comes." She reached into her coat pocket and pulled out a silver owl necklace and placed it over her daughters head. With one last loving look she stood up and took a deep breath. Then she did it. She knocked on the door.
"Who's there?" A plump woman opened the door and saw a baby lying on the step. She bent down and picked her up. "We'll take care of you here at St.Maria's." With that she closed the door behind her and smiled at the new baby that seemed just a little different than all the other children, she was special. She was sure about that.
