"jun, soon, and hao's babysitting service, who's this?"
"wow, nice formalities, hui," the person on the other line spoke with a slight chuckle.
junhui rolled his eyes with a sigh. "what do you want, minghao?" he tapped his pencil impatiently on his notebook as he worked out the math problem displayed on his computer screen. or at least he tried to.
"i have a job lined up tonight but i have to work at a function so i can't make it," minghao said. he sounded tired, like he had been running. horns honked in the background and he heard him yell an accented 'hey! watch where you're going, fuckface!'
"and you're telling me this because?" junhui asked, typing in the answer he got before swearing softly as the 'sorry, that's not correct' dialog box popped up.
"i need you to fill in for me."
junhui groaned. "can't you get soonyoung to do it?"
"he's still sick," minghao pointed out. he yelped and a horn faded away in the distance. "fucker almost hit me -- anyways, you don't have any plans."
"how do you know that?"
minghao scoffed with a small chuckle. "junhui. it's you we're talking about here. all you do is stay at the house."
the older sighed, scrawling a few numbers down onto his notebook and setting his pencil down next to it. "you're right." he took a short pause. "but i could've had a shift at the convenience store."
"thank you for clarifying that you don't."
"oh, fuck you."
minghao laughed, turning down the busy street and heading for the fast food restaurant he always goes to for no real reason. "anyways, do you want something from taco bell?"
"those aren't real ta-"
"i said do you want something from there, not do they serve real tacos or not."
"get me some nachos, pissface."
minghao gasped sarcastically as he opened the door and heard the familiar voices of the cashiers and workers. "well. looks like someone isn't getting any of my cinnamon twists because he's too busy being a bitch."
"haha. very funny. what's the cube root of 2,744?"
"why do you expect me to know that?" there was a small pause. "fourteen. now let me order and i'll be at your place, okay?"
"okay. wait-" and the line went dead. junhui groaned loudly as he thought about the babysitting job. he didn't even know the kid's name that he was supposed to be watching, much less what time he had to be there. hopefully minghao would be at the apartment soon with his food and the information.
he finished the math problem and typed in the answer before another 'incorrect' box popped up and he let his head fall forwards to hit the heyboard.
"i'm so done with this shit!"
