Chapter 12
Everyone was sat in the dinning hall eating breakfast. It was finally the weekend meaning the boys could go outside of the school. Vik was zoned out as Ethan ranted endlessly as usual. Vik liked Ethan as a friend but he didn't feel that Ethan liked him back. He never wanted to just hang out and have fun anymore. Ethan was always so fixated on everything that happened back in Los Santos. Vik wouldn't say he's depressed, but definitely less cheerful.
"Vik? Vik!" Ethan shook him.
"Hm? What? Sorry." Vik tuned back into the world.
"I said, what are you going to do today?" Ethan restated his question.
"I don't know. Explore the upper part of town?" Vik shrugged.
"Oh, I was thinking of going to the lower part." Ethan mentioned.
"That's fine. You can do what you want. I'll just take the time to myself." Vik got up to throw his food out and then left. He felt bad for leaving his friend alone but he might need some time to himself. He's seemed a little aggravated lately.
He strolled down the nicer streets of Tulsa, enjoying the quiet. It didn't exactly have the nicest scenery since Oklahoma is just all flat land. He walked past a Dairy Queen wishing he had money for food. He turned around and started heading back to the school out of pure boredom. Then he saw what seemed to be a panicked Tobi.
"Tobi, is everything alright?" Vik jogged over to him. Tobi kept looking behind himself.
"N-No. I think, I just saw Wedgeman and Zerker." Tobi stammered. Vik was taken back by this.
"Really? You should report them to the police." Just as Vik suggested this, he had flashback to when he saw Ethan hanging out with Zerker, or Josh.
"I don't think the police are going to know who they are. I'll call Harry though. He'll want to know." Tobi nodded as he reached into his pocket for his phone. As he reported his sighting, Vik followed him further back down the streets. "No, just me. Okay, you're welcome, bye." Tobi ended his call. "Vik, I told Harry that I didn't tell anyone else and he doesn't want me to so you can't tell anyone either, okay?"
"I won't." Vik promised. He wanted to tell Ethan but then he would never shut up. Ethan would probably drive Vik crazy. Tobi waved his goodbyes and after he left Vik realized he was now lost. He looked around confused, when someone else walked up to him.
"Hey kid, you look lost. Do you need directions?" the man offered.
"Yeah, I just need to get back to the private school." Vik told him.
"Easy. Follow me." he started walking.
"Uh, I don't think I should just follow strangers. Can't you just tell me?" Vik stepped back. The man just laughed at him.
"You can trust me. I don't have any intention of causing you harm. My name is JJ." he informed Vik. Vik hesitated before continuing.
"My... name's Vik." Vik had no idea who JJ was. They had no encounter except on the roof but they never had a formal introduction. Most of that day is a blur to Vik anyways. Ethan never talked about JJ either.
"So, since you're not from around here where are you from?" JJ asked, leading the way.
"Look I'll only get so friendly. You don't need to know my life story." Vik snapped.
"Okay, I get it. I'll ask something less personal like... do you like the school?" JJ changed his question. Him and Vik had a small conversation and before he knew it they were at the school. "See? You can trust me."
