I sit in a booth beside Hiccup waiting for my uncle to come back with the food. Hiccup's phone buzzes making him look down. He lets out a short laugh shaking his head, texting back. I watch curiously pondering who he's talking to. He chuckles again at the next response.

"What's so funny?" I ask. He hands me the phone looking over my shoulder as I read. He scrolls up to the top of the conversation allowing me to understand what's going on.

JACK: where the heck r u?

HICCUP: where r u?

JACK: at ur house. Merida and Eret r weirding me out and Punzie along with her cousins wont shut up about the freaking dance! come on man u've gotta suffer through this with me

HICCUP: haha sorry. I'm at Astrid's house right now.

JACK: well kiss her already and bring her with u. we've gotta practice for tomorrow.

HICCUP: actually we r practicing right now. she has an amp in her room.

JACK: oh I see. getting comfy in her room r we?

HICCUP: shut up!!! and no. we're just hanging out.

JACK: whatever

JACK: please tell me u can come to my house now. Elsa is scaring the living daylights out of me.

HICCUP: can't

JACK: why the heck not?

HICCUP: busy

JACK: ur such a woman. I can't Jack I'm busy. I don't want that Jack it's not me. Ur disgusting Jack, chew with ur mouth closed. Grow up Jack ur not 5.

I laugh at Jack's last response. "Do you really say those things?" I ask Hiccup.

"Yeah, but not like that. He's just upset I'm hanging out with you instead of playing video games in his basement, listening to how Elsa is getting on his nerves. his rant only lasts five minutes and then he's talking about some new thing that's captured his attention almost as if he's completely forgotten what he was mad about, or the real reason I'm at his house. By that time I'm just there to help him get to new levels on Call of Duty."

I chuckle looking at the phone. "May I?" I ask pointing at the screen. He nods.

HICCUP: hey Jack. sorry Hiccup's busy right now. we're at Wendy's.

JACK: say no more Astrid I get it. have fun u 2.

I roll my eyes giving Hiccup back the phone.

"I'm going to kill him tomorrow when we get to practice." he says looking at the response.

"What practice?" Uncle Finn asks sitting down in the booth.

"Oh, for my band." Hiccup answers grabbing mine and his food off of the tray.

"So you're the boy who has been making a name for himself around here?"

"Yes, sir. I guess you could say that. We are actually working at trying to get a record company to sign us."

"Really? I thought Jack was kidding." I say. My uncle nods impressed.

"I'm hoping maybe then we will be able to tour and go to other states. Spread our fame."

"If so, then maybe we could play in my old town You could meet my old friends." I chirp excitedly.

"Yeah, that would be awesome." Hiccup says a wide grin spreading across his face.

"Wait, we?" Uncle Finn asks confused suddenly. "What do you mean 'we'?"

"I'm one of the band members Uncle Finn." I explain.

"Your niece is amazing. We had to recruit her into the band as soon as we heard her play and sing."

"I'd have to agree with the fact that she's amazing." Uncle Finn says eating his double patty burger.
