"Berrykit! Berrykit! Wake up!" Berrykit's brother, Snowkit, mews and jumps around her.

"What?" She groans and opens her eyes, seeing Snowkit in her face with wide eyes. "What?" She asks again.

"Scorchflower said that we could leave the nursery." Snowkit meows. Berrykit perks up.

"Really?" She asks. Snowkit nods. Berrykit glances up at her mother and she nods.

"But you two must stay together." She reminds them and gives them each a swift lick on the head. Berrykit and Snowkit squeeze through the nursery entrance and enter the clearing, seeing apprentices and warriors working on making the dens warmer for leafbare. She then spots her father, Russetear, near Highrock with Fernstar, the leader, and Stickfur, the deputy. 'I want to be like Fernstar. She's kind and loyal to her clan and always puts the clan first, no matter what.' Berrykit thought. Russetear glances at his two kits and gets up and walks towards them.

"There's my kits. Scorchflower finally let you out of the nursery eh?" He purrs.

"Yeah. After we turn 4 moons old." Snowkit pouts.

"She just wants to make sure her kits are the best warriors." Russetear meows and licks the kits on top of their head like Scorchflower. A lot of the queens think that Scorchflower and Russetear are related in some way because they basically have the same personalities and literally act the same way. I mean it's possible, but I doubt it. Maplepaw and Fluffypaw run up to Snowkit and Berrykit.

"Hey, you guys are out of the nursery!" Fluffypaw exclaims and circles around them.

"Yeah, you guys are what, 3 moons old now?" Maplepaw asks.

"4 moons. We're 4 moons old." Berrykit corrects him.

"Ooh! 2 more moons then you can train with us!" Fluffypaw yowls excitedly.

"I'll be an apprentice in a moon." Spacekit, a light blue tom with an orange mask pattern on his face and is a moon older than Berrykit and Snowkit, boasts.

"I can't wait for you to be my denmate again." Butterpaw, a golden tom with some weird twoleg thingy that he found around his neck, meows. Butterpaw has only been an apprentice for 2 moons is extremely close friends with Snowkit and Spacekit. 'I miss him in the nursery.' Berrykit thought. 'He always made us smile.'

"Can you teach us a hunting crouch?" Berrykit asks the apprentices. Maplepaw nods.

"Crouch down as low as you can, without your belly touching the ground." He instructs. I quickly crouch, careful not to let my belly touch the ground.

"Don't move your tail. Keep it off the ground a little." Fox Paw, a reddish she-cat, meows as she walks over and sits next to her brother, Butterpaw.

"No, it's supposed to be gently set on the ground." Fluffypaw argues.

"No, Flowerbloom told me to keep my tail slightly above the ground." Foxpaw huffs.

"But Dusttail told me-"

"I did not tell you to keep it gently on the ground. Foxpaw is right. If it's on the ground and your tail twitches just slightly, it could scare off the prey." Dusttail twitches his ear in annoyance at his apprentice. Fluffypaw growls lightly and he and Maplepaw head over towards the freshkill pile. Fluffypaw hates it when he's wrong, which he normally is.

"So, how does it feel to finally be able to go out of the nursery?" Foxpaw meows as she curls her tail around her front paws.

"Feels refreshing to not be in such a small den 24/7. Especially since Leafcloud's kits were born about a moon ago." Snowkit yawns.

"You two look tired. You should head back to the nursery. You too Spacekit." Dusttail meows. All 3 kits nod and head back to the nursery.

"So, how was it?" Scorchflower asks as Berrykit and Snowkit enter the nursery.

"The clearing is huge!" Berrykit exclaims.

"Yes. Did you guys see Russetear too?" She asks. The kits nod. "Good. Now get some sleep. You'll need it."
