Chapter Three

As it was expected, Samantha left for London. She knew she had to find her family, her grandfather to be precised. She imagined her grandfather to be charming, good looking but arrogant.

That was what Rose told her. And Rose wouldn't have said the kind ones if Lisa didn't include that on her dying list. She begged Rose to say nice things about Bernard to her child. And that was Rose's best way of understanding what the word nice was.

Rose tried her best to let Samantha love her grandfather a little bit by telling her, Bernard was selfish, self centered, heartless, charming and arrogant.

Natasha wondered how here description would be like, should Rose decide to let Sam hate him.

Sam; as they liked to call her, had a lot in mind. Like how to approach Bernard, how to insist on half of his property.

She knew if her grandfather knew who she was, he would never allow her to be closer. It wasn’t difficult finding their whereabouts because they had their own website…even a baby knew the Hasid family.

They were successful in their businesses. And their family name was everywhere.

When the plane landed, she got down after a while. She breathed the cool air and sighed. She was glad to be in the environment. It sounded quiet and looked lovely.

She looked around once she came out of the airport. She had no one waiting to pick her home like most families did when they arrived at the airport.

So she looked around and took a cab which sent her to the hotel she'd be staying at for not more than a week. As she booked for a room, she changed her outfit and picked the small notebook she had come along with.

She had already planned her day. She loved to shop. And she knew what she wanted to buy first. She wanted a car for herself. She wanted the latest model. Even though she knew little about cars, she wanted to look good in one.

She looked around…certainly; London is a very cool place. If she had known it was this good looking, she would've decided to go there a long time ago.

She's going to make it obvious why she went there and she wouldn't run about the bush once she met her grandfather. Going to claim her inheritance would be the first thing she would do and after, she would think about the luxury of having kids and thinking about enjoying her life peacefully.

She settled into her hotel room and went out for a while. She bought her car and she was happy she had the fastest. She wasn’t only happy about her car, she was also happy nobody knew her in London. She was happy she could move around without anyone being scared of what she might say or do to them. She drove her car around with no difficulty. And she knew she could spend the rest of her life there.

She liked weird environments…she had lived in such a place all her life…with herbs smelling everywhere. She wasn’t used to an operated environment. She had no friends and yet, she knew her life in London wouldn't be boring.

Bernard had come to know about Rose’s daughter and grand-daughter but he didn’t know they were his family until his investigator recently told him Natasha was Lisa's daughter.  He was happy to know Lisa was happy. At first he wished Natasha was his so at least he'd die knowing he had his own child.

But his wife had told the private investigator to lie to Bernard about the baby being his. It wasn't really necessary since Bernard wasn't planning on going back anyway but his second wife wanted to secure her place in his life.

So Bernard believed Lisa remarried and got pregnant for her new husband.

Bernard expected it to be God who was punishing him, or better still, Rose who had cursed his heart more; to be sick and paralyzed with the love he still felt for Lisa.

It was his guilt that was killing him.

He still couldn't help himself but to think about it all through the years he had wished for his freedom. He knew no one could love him like Lisa did. No one was beautiful like Lisa was.

No one was sweet like his Lisa was. But his greedy side of life went thin cornered and amusingly, he didn't really care he left without a trace.

Little did he know, his curse was on her way.
