Hayden's POV:
As Sunday rolls by, I secretly think Louis won't show up. He's just been really different this past week. But, as dinner rolls by, I'm surprised when I hear a knock on the door only to see Louis.
"Hi." I greet, smiling sadly.
"Hey, Hayden."
"Come in."
As we step in, he kisses me on the lips. "I'm sorry for how I've been acting."
"It's fine," I push his apology away. "I just wish you would let me know what's bothering you."
"I will," he sighs. "Soon."
As we enter the dining room, we push the conversation away. We sit down waiting for my mom and Eric. Evan heads down to go to work and smiles as he sees Louis, "Hey there."
"Hey, Evan." Louis smiles.
"Would love to join you guys, but I have to go to work. Maybe another time?" Evan asks.
"Sounds perfect."
My mom and Eric soon make their way out to the kitchen and we all sit making small chat as we eat.
"So Louis, what hobbies do you like?"
"Well, I really love rugby but can't play it for the school team." He mentions.
"Oh, and why not?" My mother intervenes.
"My parents can't pay for the insurance needed to play."
I grimace as my mom looks at me in surprise, realizing that Louis is not a rich person.
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"It's fine. Eric, what do you do?" He asks.
My mom cuts in, "He has a talent for imitating handwriting."
Eric nods, "I do. Give me any paper with someone's handwriting and I can copy it perfectly."
My eyes widen, the checks. Did my dad really write them out, or did Eric?
As dinner goes on, my mom keeps up small talk with Louis and I'm surprised to see that she looks impressed with him. Maybe she likes him?
I cough loudly in surprise as I feel Louis hand being placed on my knee. Looking over at him, he keeps the conversation up with my mom but slyly keeps his hand going up slowly. He gets to the top of my thigh when out of reaction, I bump my knee up. I hiss when it connects with my table.
"You alright, dear?" My mother asks.
"Yes." I nod, hitting Louis hand away.
As soon as she looks away, I look at Louis. "What was that about?"
He shrugs, "Thought I would try something new."
When Louis leaves, I kiss him goodbye and look over at my mom for her reaction, "So?"
"I don't like him."
My heart breaks, "What? You two seemed to hit it off well."
"He's not good enough for you, Hayden." She shrugs.
"Excuse me, why not? Because he's not rich?"
"Exactly."
I huff, "I can't believe you."
"Don't you ever see him again."
She demands, angrily.
"No!"
"Don't you ever see him again!" She repeats, but this time she yells it.

Oh.
