-Chapter Seven-
Reverend stepped onto the edge of a cliff walking towards a cave. She turned glancing at the rising sun. She sighed walking in.
"Now I have to wait yet again", she said.
Reverend's steps echoed bouncing off the stone walls and she heard the water drop down from the natural stone cold pillars.
Reverend's hand moved taking off her hat and slapped it against her thigh bored. Her ears twitched and her head snapped up. Her teeth clenched as she scanned hearing a whimper.
She could smell the stench. The stench of a human. She heard the breath hitch as the girl tried to stay quiet. Reverend could feel her shivers through the ground.
Reverend sighed, "You might as well come out, your ringing my ears", demanded Reverend.
Reverend saw small face peek out from behind a stone. Reverend could tell it was a farm girl. But the bright red lock filled hair was the only thing contradicting her torn and battered clothes. Her bright blue eyes filled with tears and swollen from fear and depression. She looked malnourished and pale. Reverend could hear her teeth chatter as she peeked around shaking.
Reverend stared silently.
She turned walking back towards the entrance. She'd prefer to be alone. Reverend heard the girl stand and there was a call, "Wait!", she croaked.
Reverend stopped looking back, "What?", asked Reverend.
"Aren't you....aren't you....aren't you-",
"Going to help you?", questioned Reverend finishing her sentence for the girl.
The little girl swallowed nodding, "I'm afraid I can't offer you anything", said Reverend simply.
The girl brushed back her strands sniffing and cried again. Reverend stared at the sobbing girl and then turned when two hands gripped her hand. Reverend pulled spinning and the girl fell back frightened. Reverend's eyes were gleaming and she had made distance between the girl. Reverend could feel her hand muscles tighten and it was raised high.
Reverend breathed heavily. Her breath fogging the air despite the warmth of the cave as the sun was beginning to warm the earth. It was cold and Reverend snarled suddenly at the girl unable to control the animal instincts. The girl stared back at her fearfully.
"Your....your....", the girl shivered.
Reverend curled her fingers back together lower her hand shaking. She gripped her wrist tightly trembling to hold back. "Your a vampire", whispered the girl.
"Yes, spit it out as much as you'd like!", snapped Reverend sourly glaring at the girl.
The girl winced at the comment and swallowed a lump forming in her throat getting up. She took a step forward. "Do....not....come.....closer", growled Reverend looking at her hand as it shook.
"I'm.....I'm sorry", said the girl.
"For what? Touching me? You didn't do anything wrong on your account", hissed Reverend in a deep dark voice. "It's just my bloody instincts", she hissed.
Reverend flexed her fingers feeling the sensation subdue. It always lingered, taunting her. But when touched by a human it was always aroused back, even being in the same area as a human it was difficult for her.
"Are you going to eat me?", asked the girl fearfully suddenly timid.
"No", said Reverend back to normal. She turned her wrist rotating it and flexed her fingers.
"What kind of a vampire are you?", asked the girl.
"What do you mean?", asked Reverend annoyed.
"If you don't eat humans....then what do you eat?", asked the girl.
"None of your business....I told you not to come closer", growled Reverend noticing the girl had taken a step.
The girl swallowed stepping back, "Who are you?", asked the girl.
Reverend looked at the girl for a pausing silence, "Reverend", she replied.
"Reverend....as in the hunter who hunts....", the little girl swallowed.
"That's why you don't...eat humans....your the one who eats vampires", shuddered the girl at the thought.
"Just because I don't eat your kind don't mean I can't kill your kind if you keep getting closer", warned Reverend glancing at the girl.
The girl hadn't noticed herself she had been moving forward. She froze now only five feet away from Reverend. Reverend stepped back one step easily making a more comfortable distance between them.
"Are you afraid of me?", asks the girl.
"Don't be stupid", snapped Reverend.
Reverend looked at the girl, "I'm more afraid of what I will do to you", said Reverend.
The girl flinched.
"Why?", asked the girl.
"Because my kind used to hunt you as natural sport", replied Reverend
