XXVI.
My body is tired, my skin is stretched,
Eternally frozen, forever etched—
As some sick beast, with teeth bared wide,
But this isn't who I was inside.
Glass eyes gleam, fury in stance—
They've posed me in some vicious dance.
But I was soft, I was warm, I was kind,
A mother, a guardian, not something maligned.
I just wanted to protect them...
Oh, my babies...
Now I'm cursed in a hunter's den,
A trophy of terror again and again.
But I wasn't a monster—just a mother who cared,
Who fought and who loved, who desperately dared.
Let me rest, let me sleep, let me go,
For what they've made me, they'll never know.
I'm not the beast your whispers call—
I'm just a mother who lost it all.
