Chapter Eight
Third POV Limited
Harry opened his eyes to the cutest sight he could imagine. Tiny little goblins were surrounding Griphook and climbing all over him, some even hanging from the tips of his long ears. Harry giggled and Griphook turned around slowly with a small smile on his face. All of the little goblin children seemed to have finally noticed Harry's presence, and they stood in awe, staring at him. Harry shifted nervously and Griphook laughed. "No worries Harry. They are just surprised to see a wizard. None have every step foot in here, so it is understandable. Why don't you introduce yourself?" Harry shifted nervously again and cleared his throat. "Hi," cue little hand wave that the little ones reciprocated, "My name is confusing right now, so I'm just going to say that I'm Harry Potter. I was wondering if I could stay here for a few hours while Griphook goes to continue his work; would that be okay with all of you?" One of the baby goblins jumped up with a wide smile. "Yup!" Harry giggled again and the little ones slowly crawled towards him, probably testing if he was hostile or not. "Hawy?" A little goblin held up it's arms and Harry gently lowered his hand to pick them up, as the little one was only about the size of one of his petite hands. Harry gently cooed at the little one, and the rest of the baby goblins giggled like little angels and began crawling up Harry's overly-large pants. Harry giggled at the feeling and slowly sat down, so as not to hurt any of the little darlings. A few of them began playing with his tail, that twitched whenever it was touched, eliciting several gasps and giggled from them. Some of the little ones began climbing up his wings, sometimes even snuggling into the fuzzy feathers for warmth. Though Harry thought they were all adorable, the funniest had to be when all of the rest climbed up into his hair, 'ooh'ing and 'aah'ing at the color changes, and onto his antlers, but some did stay sitting on his shoulders and legs. Harry looked at Griphook to see him smiling with a mischievous look in his eyes. Little did he know, that he had just won the loyalty of the goblins, no matter what. The tale of his little adventure in the day care would be told to every goblin in all of the banks, all over the world.
"Well, Harry, as it seems that the little ones have taken a liking to you, I must be off to send those letters. I will come back for you a few minutes before they are to arrive." Harry nodded slowly, the little darlings on his antlers giggling at the thrill of being swung around. "Thank you Griphook. See you later." Griphook smiled as he walked around Harry and slid out of the invisible wall, going back to his office. Harry turned back to the little ones in his lap, and giggled at how they looked at him. "Hawy? What's this?" A cute little voice rang from his antlers and he gave a small giggle. "I can't see up there little one. What does it look like?" A different voice whispered from above. "I hawve one too. Ift's like a wring." Harry was shocked. "Can you take them off of my antlers and bring them to me please?" Another little voice piped up cheerfully. "Yup!" Harry giggled again and waited while he felt eight little darlings climb up his antlers with something around them. As they pulled the rings off, they jumped down from the antlers, down onto his head. A small whimper slipped from Harry's throat as a pain erupted on his head where the little ones landed. His empty hand flew up and gently touched the tender spot, only for him to feel something different than his scalp. He had ears situated on his head, right next to the antlers. Harry frowned in confusion, as he had not seen them before, and deduced from feeling them, that they were little doe ears. He began to bring his hand down, only for the baby goblins on his head to climb onto his arm. Harry giggled and continued to bring his arm down, now careful of the little stowaways. When all of the little ones that held the rings were on his lap, he gently took the ring with a lion on it from one of the baby goblins. Harry looked in awe at the Gryffindor lordship ring and smiled down at the little goblin. "Thank you little one. This is one of my lordship rings! I didn't know when Griphook was going to give these to me." The baby goblin smiled wide and giggled, beginning to climb up his arm again. Harry gently took the rest of the rings from the little ones and sure enough, a badger crest for the Hufflepuff ring, an eagle crest for the Ravenclaw ring, the Deathly Hallows crest for the Peverell ring, a large black dog crest for the Black ring, a flame-breathing dragon crest for the Pendragon ring, a stag crest for the Potter ring, a doe crest for the Evans ring, and a spark of rainbow light crest for the Emrys ring. Harry gently slipped them on every finger except for his left ring finger and watched in awe as they flashed and fitted to each of his fingers. Harry could feel all the house magicks accepting him and merging with his own innate magic. Harry giggled along with the rest of the baby goblins at the little show. "Thank you little ones." A chorus of 'youwr welcowme's followed his gratitude. Harry sat there for a few minutes, trying not to think about all that was happening, only basking in the warmth of the little darlings exploring his strange appendages. Sadly, the negative thoughts that he wanted to keep at bay could not be stopped and his hair changed to wine as his mind was plagued with doubt. How could Dumbledore possibly have put any of his mates under the influence of a potion without anyone noticing? What if they still didn't like him if they were influenced and then cured? What if he was too weak to be seen with them? What if they wouldn't want him since he was so dirty? Would they beat him too? Would they deny any connection to him and continue to try to kill him? The baby goblins seemed to have picked up on his distress as they all stopped climbing and crawling around. After a few moments, one of the little ones on his shoulder gently touched his ear and began to speak. "Don't wowy Mistwer Hawy." Another little darling on his lap began speaking. "Nowthin' kin happin to you now tha Evil Dum-be-door's infla-ence is gowne." The baby goblin in his hand spoke up as well. "You'wre savfe now, Miwster Hawy." A tear leaked from his eye at the blatant love in the words. An angelic love that he had never been given, or the possibility to express. The baby goblins all hugged whatever they could reach, the little one in his hand hugging one of his fingers. Harry's shoulders began to shake as his dam was finally broken. Tears streamed down his cheeks as sobs racked his body, but the little darlings held on. They hummed a quiet tune, and Harry had never felt more comfort and love before in his life. He cried and sobbed for what felt like forever. The Harry Potter that everyone had once known was finally broken; smashed to smithereens by the very people that proclaimed themselves light.
