Chapter Nine
Third POV Limited
Harry woke up to someone softly shaking one of his shoulders. "-ry? Wake up Harry. Harry?" Harry groaned and rolled over, noticing he was not on his bed, the hand was far too small to be Aunt Petunia's, the voice was too kind to be any Dursley, and it was definitely manlier than Uncle Vernon's squeak. Harry's eyes flew open and he scrambled away from the unknown person, only for him to see that it was Griphook. "Oh." Harry giggled and relaxed against the floor, recoiling at its temperature. "I'm up." A little darling tumbled out of Harry's hair, but he quickly caught them before they could reach the ground. "Easy there, little one." Griphook chuckled and gently took the baby goblin. "I was worried about little Vralk. I'll go put him back with the others. You must have really tired them all out." Harry thought back on what happened and nodded, smiling sadly. "Yeah, I must've." He got up and waited patiently as Griphook went to another connected room. When Griphook came back, Harry walked after him, a step behind. "It's time then?" Griphook nodded. "Yes. I will be giving them a test similiar to yours, but different, as we will not be testing their inheritances. This test will only ask for their name, their mates' names, blocks, and potion influences. For the safety of the wizard, we do not have all of their information listed in every test." Griphook winked at Harry, and he giggled in response.
Upon entering the office, Griphook sat in his business chair, while Harry stood in the corner, casting an impenetrable notice-me-not spell on himself as he did. It was a certain spell that he had created himself, using his gifted abilities to hide his scent, any sound that he could make- including heartbeat and breathing-, his body, and his taste, though the only downside was that he was still tangible. A few minutes later, Harry heard four sets of footsteps coming down the hall, and Griphook silently nodded, answering Harry's unvoiced question.
Moments later, a firm rap sounded on the door, to which Griphook called for the visitors to come in. As the small party entered the room, Harry couldn't help but gasp at the beauty of his mates. Voldemort didn't look like the man he remembered stepping out of the cauldron on the night of the final trial. Rather, Lord Voldemort looked like an older version of the horcrux that had been petrifying students in his second year- chocolate wavy hair, intense hazel eyes, elegantly pale skin, and thin, rosy red lips pulled into a smirk. Severus was no different and neither was Draco, but Harry saw everything from a different perspective. Severus' dark eyes glinted with intelligence, his skin a pearly pale, hair shiny as a silk curtain, and height taller than Tom. Harry felt slightly intimidated, but he couldn't say that it wasn't a great feeling. Draco was the shortest of the group, but he still towered over Harry with his platinum blonde hair, spiky in a stylish way; slightly tanner skin, though still a color of pale; glittering gray-blue eyes; and a serious offset. Harry felt insecure as he looked upon their gorgeousness, sure that he was an ugly bug in comparison. A silent tear or two fell from his eyes, but he payed them no mind. "Alright gentlemen, please, take a seat." Tom sat first, followed by Severus, and then Draco. All of them sat with elegant posture and waited patiently for Griphook to speak. "Now, I know you all are most likely wanting to know why you have been asked here, but first, I must say my piece. My name is Griphook, and you all will be taking the wellness test today. We are in the England branch bank of Gringotts, and this is neutral ground. I expect no offensive spell-casting in here, am I clear?" Three regal nods were all Griphook received. "Okay then. Getting down to business, I have heard from an anonymous source that you three may be negatively effected by a potion or spell. I know this is a disrespectful accusation, but I will have to say that the person was also effected by this, and they only wanted to make sure that you three were not also negatively influenced. Please, may each of you put three droplets of your blood inside of these three inkwells." Harry's mates were tense and scowling throughout the whole speech, but loosened up slightly near the end, and Harry sighed in relief. Griphook handed over three small knives that they each nicked their fingers on, blood welling on their fingertips. As one, they dropped three droplets inside and cast a silent spell to heal the cut. Harry watched in anticipation as Griphook grabbed the inkwells and poured a bit of a blue potion into each inkwell, using a magic quill after pouring each. As before, the quill gently lifted out of Griphook's hand each time and drifted down to start scribbling on each of the three parchments placed on the desk. Harry walked over to his mates and stood motionlessly behind them, stuck by the heavenly aroma that was only them. It smelled of Quidditch fields, smoking cauldrons, old tombs, candy, leathery skin, and potion ingredients. Shaking his head, Harry walked over to Severus, beginning to read over his shoulder.
Name: Severus Tobias Snape
Mate(s): Tom Riddle, Draco Malfoy, and Harry Potter
Block(s): none
Potion Influence(s):
Blind Hatred: to Harry Potter
Harry couldn't stop the sigh of relief that left his lips, though he quickly jumped backwards, as Severus whipped his head around to look behind him with suspicion. Harry giggled slightly as he remembered the charm, and continued to walk over to Tom.
Name: Tom Marvolo Riddle
Mate(s): Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy, and Harry Potter
Horcrux(es): Harry Potter and Nagini
Block(s): none
Potion Influence(s):
Blind Hatred: to Harry Potter
Insanity: weak
Harry felt an angry stirring in his heart, knowing that Dumbledore had been behind his mate's insanity. Harry shook his head and walked over to Draco, just as he set the test back on the top of Griphook's desk.
Name: Draco Lucius Malfoy
Mate(s): Tom Riddle, Severus Snape, and Harry Potter
Block(s):
Overall Magic: 20% blocked
Potion Influence(s):
Blind Hatred: to Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore, Weasley Family, Hogwarts Staff -except Severus Snape-, and Muggleborns
Harry snarled at Dumbledore's obvious play in his mates' lives and wanted to call upon Death to allow him to kill Dumbledore at least one time. Still steaming, Harry barely registered his mates talking to Griphook. As they got up to leave, Harry forcibly pushed the anger down and slipped through the doorway while Griphook waited. Harry lightly tapped his shoulder and Griphook closed the door magically. Harry followed his mates and hope began to fill his heart for one of the first times, silently wishing that they would show him what he really wanted- no, needed- from them, love.
