After a month of unpacking and redecorating, the two boys finally felt at home for the first time in a while. The pair had gotten to know each other a lot better over the past few weeks and their friendship grew and grew with them both becoming fonder of each other by the minute. It was twelve o clock on a Sunday when Dan awoke. As his eyes fluttered keen he immediately had a smile plastered across his face. He had been having the time of his life with his new friend, even if they were only doing domestic things like plant shopping or binge watching anime together.

Suddenly, a rustling from another room interrupted Dan's thoughts. The brown haired boy's eyebrows furrowed. He decided to investigate and slipped on a t shirt and hoodie with some skinny jeans as quickly as he could. He tiptoed out of his bedroom towards Phil's room which was opposite.

Dan knocked lightly on the door before quietly opening it and inevitably cringing at the creaky hinges. The bed was made and the blinds were open. "By 12 in the afternoon on a Sunday? No way." Dan thought to himself. "That's a first." He closed the door behind him and was no longer cautious about the volume of his footsteps as he walked along the faded grey carpet with his footsteps echoing around the hall.

The sound of cupboard doors closing began to come from the kitchen. Dan walked over to the glass door and could vaguely see Phil through it. He squinted his brown eyes and saw that Phil was eating the cornflakes Dan had bought the previous day and labelled "do not touch".

"Phiiiiil!" Dan yelled as he burst open the kitchen door. Phil jumped with fright and instantly began to laugh with his hand on his chest. "That's my cereal!!" Screeched the younger boy while playfully headbutting Phil in the gut. The sticky note attached to the box was now on the ground so Phil picked it up and stuck it onto his glasses. "I'm untouchable, you'll never take me alive!" He said as he ran into his own room. Dan chuckled and rolled his eyes at his friend. "How on earth have I fallen for this man?" He thought while laughing to himself as he retrieved his cereal and went about the day.

As Dan sat on the area of the sofa which he had nicknamed "the sofa crease" with his cereal watching The Great British Bake Off, Phil came in through the door into the newly decorated lounge.

"Get up Danny Boy we're going outside." He exclaimed whilst walking over to the tv remote to turn it off. The brown haired boy took the remote before Phil could get a grasp of it. "But there's people outside and no one understands me except you." Dan protested, moaning like a child.

"Alright I didn't know you were a teenager going through an emo phase." Phil said. "It's not a phase, Dad!" The brown eyed boy groaned sarcastically. Phil took the cereal bowl from the arm of the sofa. "I want to show you something." The black haired boy said. Dan submissively stood up in agreement and  brushed his teeth before following Phil down all the stairs.

The boys went out the front door of the apartment and saw a taxi waiting for them. They both climbed in and Dan looked over at his friend with a puzzled look on his face. "This better be important, I don't go outside for a reason." Dan said half jokingly and half nervously. Phil simply rolled his eyes and laughed. "This will be worth it." The older boy responded.

The taxi continued through the busy streets of London as the rain pelted onto the tinted windows of the back seats. It was one o clock by the time the pair had gotten out of the taxi and the journey had racked up quite the charge. Phil was the first to leave the car and he turned back to open the door for Dan.

Once the two were both outside in the rain, Dan realised where they were. They were standing outside the very diner they had been in and hugged outside of just a month ago. "Happy one month friendaversary!" Phil exclaimed doing jazz hands. Dan laughed and said "Has it been a month already? Well don't expect me to keep track of time in the future because I'm atrocious at remembering days. Maybe you should find a new flatmate before its too late." The brown eyed boy joked, attempting to hide his affection.

Phil giggled and walked into the diner, holding the door for Dan. They ordered the same drinks but got food as well as they were feeling slightly peckish. They laughed and joked to each other and before they knew it, they had been simply sitting and enjoying each others company for over two hours.

After Phil realised the time from looking at his phone, he began to exclaim, "Oh no, we're going to run out of time!" Phil frantically grabbed for his wallet and ran up to the counter. "Keep the change, thank you!" He said as he dragged Dan by the hand almost identical to how he did the last time. A smile came over the employee's face as she remembered the first time they came in.

The two boys eventually made it to their destination after Phil's hustling and bustling. As they entered King's Cross Station, Dan was confused. He hadn't brought anything with him and wasn't prepared to go anywhere. "Close your eyes." Phil said happily as if he was talking to a child. Dan obeyed and felt his friend guide him by the hand. Dan bit his lip but immediately pretended to yawn as a cover up. "Dan don't ruin everything with your stupid crush, this is going so well." He thought to himself as Phil was still dragging him.

Phil came to a stop and said "And open!" Dan fluttered open his eyelids to see platform 9 and three quarters in front of his eyes. Dan practically jumped into the air with excitement. "After we marathoned all the Harry Potter movies in one day, I knew we'd have to come here." Phil said proudly as Dan looked at the platform and gift shop in awe. "Well what are we watching for? Come on let's go!" Dan cried as he walked towards the platform.

Dan and Phil walked out of King's Cross with a bag full of the merchandise of their Hogwarts houses. After some time they found themselves in Greenwich Park where Phil introduced the final stop of their mystery tour. They walked up the hill into the Royal Observatory and entered the Planetarium. The guide began explaining all of the constellations to the thirty or so people in the room as Dan and Phil sat down. They opted for edge seats due to their height and then looked up to the stars.

After the educational and jaw dropping wonders of astronomy, the pair walked back through the park to make their way home. As their conversation took a small break Dan wanted to take the opportunity while he could. "Thank you for everything today, Phil. It was amazing. No one has ever done anything like that for me before and I just want to know why you did it." Dan said with wide eyes.

Phil responded "Well I've been happier than ever this past month so I wanted to thank you. Hopefully we can keep having fun like this for a while." They smiled at each other and Dan found it uneasy to hold back. Looking at Phil in the moonlight, with his jet black hair falling perfectly into place, it was difficult to ignore his attraction to the northern boy.

Dan couldn't take it anymore so he put his arm out horizontally to stop Phil in his tracks. Phil was startled by the sudden movement and looked over at Dan in confusion. The brown haired boy signalled to his friend to follow him. They walked into a more secluded area of the park and Dan took a deep breath before this all important moment.

"I've had the best time the past month and the fact that you've done this is really what sealed the deal. I can't keep this to myself anymore." Dan said with a quiver in his voice as the rain began to come down once again. Phil opened his mouth in order to respond but Dan continued talking before he could say anything.

"I don't want this feeling to go on any longer. I don't want to leave it any longer because the possible outcome will hurt more." Dan said as tears began to well up in his eyes. "What I'm trying to say is: Phil Lester, I'm in love with you."

Tears began to stream down the younger boys face after his confession and the darkness meant he couldn't see Phil's expression and was unaware of his reaction. "Well? Come on, don't make this harder than it already is Phil. I'm sorry for ruining everything." Dan cried, his voice filled with disappointment. The taller boy looked down at his feet in despair.

Without a word spoken, Phil put out his hand to Dan's chin and tilted the boy's head upwards to reveal Dan's tear stained face. He pushed back Dan's fringe with his finger and gave him a small smile. "Daniel Howell." Phil said giving no clear reaction with the tone of his voice sounding normal. Dan's eyes widened to look at his friend. "I think I'm in love with you too."

As that sentence was uttered and the two looked at each other in the moonlight, Phil gave in to his urge and pulled his friend in closer. As they collided, their lips touched and it seemed as if they fit into each other perfectly. They began to kiss each other passionately and enjoyed each others embrace. It was slow and genuine, and as the rain poured down, it felt like the most perfect moment both of them had ever experienced. As if their brains were in sync, they both pulled away after about a minute and hugged each other lovingly and thankfully.

After that moment they had shared, Dan and Phil just went on as normal to get a taxi home and exchanged conversations which were partnered with loving gazes at each other. After the taxi ride, they used their buzzer to get into their apartment and held hands as they walked up the stairs that a mere month ago, were walked down by the two boys who met by chance.
