I don't believe in love at first sight, in fact I choose to ignore love all together, I mean seriously, who needs a boyfriend right now? But the moment I walked in and saw him, my only thought was I wonder what would happen if I tried to talk to him. Me and Grace know boyfriends are weird and clingy.
I put my stuff away and stand around, awkwardly. I look around for the teacher who is sitting at his desk, sipping coffee. Once everyone puts their stuff away he passes out names to go in each table.
"Ella, Grant, Joey, Carol..." he said as he placed students in their assigned seats. I get lost in my thoughts for awhile until I hear my name being called. I go over to the table and sit down, nervously. The kids at my table are: a guy named Chandler, a girl named Ashley, and then Alex. And yes, I do know him, he lives in my neighborhood, he is always riding on a dirt bike or skateboarding. everyone knows him, either neighbors who hate him because he's loud, or other neighbors who's kids hang out with him. I never thought I would like him, my parents don't even like him.
"Hello class, my name is Mr. Williams, and I will be your teacher this year."
"Really? no..." said Chandler, sarcastically.
The teacher paused to look at him and then continued talking.
"Today, we will do nothing but getting to know each other and then I will tell you how seventh grade will roll." I looked around at the class and realized I only knew half of them. There was usually only two or three new people so this was surprising.
"Okay, lets start by everyone standing up and says... three things about their life." he says.
"Funny guy, you start." he pointed to Chandler and he looked like he was about to die laughing. He stood up with his face all red and swallowed his laughter.
"m-my name is Chandler Reed and I have a dog named Joey and I like to have a sense of humor." He said sitting down. The teacher then pointed to the next person which was Alex.
"My name is Alex Roy and I like to skateboard and I like squirrels." he said quickly standing up and then back down. Next was Ashley.
"My name is Ashley Cox and I like to draw and my favorite color is green." she smiled then sat down. My turn. I awkwardly got up.
"My name is Theodosia Hart, I like to draw and my friends call me Theo." I said quietly, everyone was staring at me as if straining to hear my voice. I felt their eyes burn into me as I sat down. I held my breath as the next person started talking, I still felt a pair of eyes on me so I didn't bother look at their face. After awhile of people saying their name and stuff the teacher started talking about way thinks will work. But all I could think about was Alex. My chest felt tight and my cheeks burned. I had a calm expression on but I couldn't help but being noticeable. Oh, never mind about that. People act like I'm invisible anyways.
