Four

(Ah I'm sorry this story will continue in third person! It's just much more enjoyable for me to write this way. Sorry for grammar mistakes! I just wanted to get this chapter up!)

September 4

7:38pm EST

Artemis was enraged at Wally's comment. "This happens to be my dorm room, Wally." Her eyebrow was raised with an immense amount of condescending attitude.

The ginger seemed a bit flustered, he had never told her his name. "Ok, one, how do you know my name, and two...ok that's the only appropriate question I have." He mumbled that last part, not exactly wanting her to hear him.

The blonde rolled her eyes and walked over to Wally. "Your friends told me." She crossed her arms and shifted her weight to one leg.

Wally shot an unnerving glare towards Zatanna and Megan, who didn't seam quite surprised by the events taking place.

"Hmm, Wally, the feeling is mutual, really. I mean, you only hit me with your bike then decided the colors of your girlfriends sheets were a great big deal and ran to help her." Artemis had held her hateful gaze the entire time she was talking. "Now, I'm a girl who can fully take care of herself, but I would consider how this makes you look."

Wally could feel his face burning, he tried to fight his embarrassed blush, but with no such luck. His skin was paler than average so when he blushed, you could really see it.

"Look, we talked, you were fine." Wally growled in a low voice.

The two had almost completely forgotten about the other occupying the room. Wally gazed around at a few of his friends. "We will continue this argument later." He whispered as he walked passed her.

There was a slight uneasy tension hanging in the air as the room filled with silence. "Well, Artemis-" Megan began.

"Artemis! So that's your name." Wally smirked smugly and leaned against the wall. "Like the goddess of the hunt, however you are quite the opposite of a such a lovely title."

Artemis could feel a burning in her chest. "Listen here Wally, you-" Megan interrupted the argument once again.

"Hey guys! Ok, so I was thinking for a movie night! Our dorm!" Megan made some jazz hands, enthusiastically. "Obviously with two people sitting apart from each other..."

Wally and Artemis instantly shot fiery glares at one another. "Fine." They simultaneously groaned and shared yet another harsh gaze.

Megan made a slight squeal noise and jumped up form her sitting position on the bed. She took a box filled with movies out from the closet and set it in the center of the floor.

Wally unzipped his jacket and hung it over Artemis' desk chair. He was wearing a slightly tight fitting red t-shirt that did wonders for his muscles.

Artemis hadn't noticed him in any way, but he did look incredibly attractive.

"What genre?" Zatanna sat down and crossed her legs as she sifted through the DVDs. "Action, horror- oh! How about a romantic comedy?"

Artemis shrugged, "Yeah, that'll do." She never really was a romance movie girl, but the look in Zatanna's face signaled that there would be no changing her mind.

The dark haired girl began listing off the movies. "Ok so we have Silver Linings, the proposal-"

"Silver Linings!" Wally interrupted and grabbed the DVD from the cardboard box.

Artemis had another movie in mind. "Ummm no! The Proposal." She grabbed the movie just as Wally had, but instead she popped it in the DVD player.

"Who says you get to call the shots?" The ginger snapped at Artemis, even more frustrated with her than before. What right does she have? He thought.

"You were just about to put Silver Linings in!" Artemis made a 'so what' motion with her hands and sat down on her bed.

"Why does that matter?" Wally walked over to where she was sitting down. He towered over when she was on her bed.

Now Artemis was really agitated. "Wally, you are embarrassing yourself. I advise you sit down and shut up before you make yourself look like more of an idiot." The blonde snapped with such ease that it almost scared Wally. He barely ever saw anyone that spoke with such ease like that.

"Fine." Wally wasn't really going to debate anymore, he had a plan of his own. He plopped down on Zatanna's bed. The rest of the teens filled in somewhere between the two beds.

Wally immediately got out his phone and texted Linda.

'Movie at Zatanna's?'

'I guess, when?'

'Now?'

'A little fair warning would be nice'

'Sorry, just thought inviting my girlfriend would be nice'

'Whatever'

He made a sour face at his phone and clicked the off button. He kept convincing himself that he liked her a lot, which he did...sometimes.

Wally never felt like admitting that he questioned his relationship with Linda. Everyone would be right if he told her some of the thins that troubled him, which made him wrong. Wally West never liked to be wrong.

15 short minutes passed when there was a loud knock on the door. Nearly everyone jumped at the sudden sound, except for Wally who rushed to open the door.

"Hey babe!" He gave her a big smile and she returned the gesture with a small, unamused smile of her own. Linda walked passed him and sat down where Wally previously had.

The ginger rested in the same place and wrapped an arm around her, which she didn't seem to enjoy very much.

Everyone didn't really seem to know why just happened. In fact, Connor had the most irritated look plastered on his face. Artemis made a mental note not to mess with him.

Artemis was only slightly agitated by Linda all of a sudden showing up, but what really got her was when she picked up her phone and took a call during the middle of the movie.

She stole a quick sideways glance at Artemis and continued with her loud, obnoxious conversation.

"Yeah! Ugh I know right?! Her new roommate looks like a total prick!" Linda made no attempt to quiet her voice down as she spoke.

New roommate? Well that's obviously me. Artemis confirmed her suspicions when she noticed Wally taking glances between her and Linda with an awkward look on his face.

The blonde managed to snag Wally's attention. 'What is she doing here?' Artemis mouthed with the upmost irritation in her expression.

Wally gave her a quizzical look, implying that the answer was obvious. 'Girlfriend!' He mouthed and rolled his eyes and broke their eye contact.

2 minutes went by and Artemis had enough of Linda's babbling and rude comments. Without saying a word she stood up from her sitting position and crossed the room to Linda.

She snatched the dark haired girls phone from her hands and hung up with whomever she was talking with and tossed the phone back on Linda's lap.

Needless to say, Linda didn't react very well.

"Bitch!" She exclaimed and immediately stood, causing Wally to stumble a bit.

"Who do you think you are?!" Linda practically screamed. Artemis had witness a few of theses stuck-up-girl-fits, but she had never been apart of one.

Her attitude didn't phase the blonde what-so-ever.

"My name is Artemis, this is my dorm. You were being rude, so I stopped you." Artemis smoothly let the words come out of her mouth like it was any other conversation. This made Linda fume even more.

"You don't even have the nerve to ask me to get off of the phone? You just had to be so rude and hang up?!" Linda shrieked and stepped closer to the blonde. Artemis was shorter than her, but that didn't matter, nearly everyone was taller than her.

"Linda, everyone in this room knows you wouldn't have even acknowledged my existence if I tried to have a rational conversation with you." She kept her voice steady and low, not wanting to stoop to Linda's level.

In exasperation, Linda looked around the room only to see no one backing her up, even Wally who was staring at the ground.

Fed up with being embarrassed, Linda wound up her hand and aimed to slap Artemis.

Without even braking eye contact with Wally's girlfriend, Artemis caught Linda's hand. She shifted her steel grey eyes over to her hand then back to Linda.

"I would advise you to never try that again." Artemis dropped Linda's hand and crossed her arms over her chest

Linda was too shocked to even yell at Artemis. So instead she just stoned out of the room, slamming the door in the process.

Artemis was glad the movie was playing, because everyone at least tried to pay attention to that instead. Wally shot an icy glare in the blondes direction, which she returned.

When she was waking to seat once again, Zatanna lightly tapped her and gave her a thumbs up and a thankful smile.

"We owe you one." She whispered and gave her an apologetic look.

"Anytime." Artemis reassured with a slight smile and a single nod of her head.
---------------
Later that night, Artemis laid in her bed, starting at the ceiling. Her thoughts roamed to her parents. She has been planning to stop people like them for a while now, but that little incident with Linda had just pushed her over the edge.

She peeled opened her eyes to her sleeping roommate. How on earth could she proceed with her actions when she had to sneak about in her own room?

Screw it.

Finally Artemis made the executive decision that she would preform the actions she had been to anxious to do for as long as she can remember.

She slid out from underneath her green sheets and tip toed to her dresser. With such carefulness, Artemis slipped on her spandex uniform that she had made herself after a few sewing classes at her old school.

The smooth, green garments fit just right. Artemis then threw her quiver full of arrows over her back and tied her hair up into a ponytail. She grabbed her bow and slung it over her shoulders.

Tonight was a simple scouting mission, get familiar with the streets, memorize buildings, etc.

Continuing with her quiet behavior, she opened her dorm window. In the small window frame Artemis looked out at the new city in front of her, this would finally be her time.

With elegance, she slid her mask over her face and leaped out of the window.
