Three
Artemis Crock

Don't freak out Artemis. Do not go into a rage and kick the living crap out of the guy. Deep breaths. Don't yell. Be calm.
Having to call into your job on the first day and say you won't be able to make it was bad enough, now I just had to get hit when I was minding my own business, trying to move to my dorm room.
I wasn't stunned really, I was trained to expect the unexpected and adapt to situations. I looked up at the male figure who had just hit me and gave him an icy glare.
"U-uhh." The guy rambled from under his helmet, which prevented me from seeing his face. He kicked up the stand and rushed to help me up. My stuff scattered across the parking lot, toppled out of its boxes.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention, are you hurt?" He rambled so quickly I couldn't understand much of what he said, but I assumed it was an apology.
"I don't want to hear your lame excuses!" I growled and stood up on my own, but stumbled backwards a bit as I felt dizzy.
He got closer to me as if to catch me but I quickly stuck my hand up to stop him, which succeeded. I took a deep breath resisting the urge to punch that stupid helmet off of his face.
Almost on cue, he slipped his helmet off of his head. Now, this would be one of those scenes in the movies where everything is in slow motion and I suddenly fall under his charm and dashing smile.
This is real life, not a movie.
Out of no where he swiftly glided over to me. Instinctively I backed away raised an eyebrow in his direction.
"You're bleeding." He swiped his thumb across the cut despite my relentless protests.
"Yeah! You just ran me over with your bike!" I snapped and began to pick up my various items that littered the ground. Books, clothes...arrows!
I snatched those up and shoved them in the box first. The mystery guy was about to say something when his phone rang.
"Yeah...Linda? Now? Now is not a good time. OKAY! Gosh I'm sorry I'll be there. Yes, I get it, now!" He groaned and the ginger shoved his helmet back on his head.
"Sorry miss I've gotta go." He groaned while stepping back towards his bike.
This really boiled my blood. Miss? Was I some 80 year old librarian?
"Naturally! Just hit a person with your bike, making them spill their stuff and just drive away because that's the right thing to do." I mumbled mindlessly and picked the last of my things up.
"Excuse me?" The boy tilted his head in curiously and slight sass.
I stacked the ordinary brown boxes and leaned on them confused if I heard him right. "Wait I'm sorry was that- was that attitude, coming from you?" I put my hand behind my ear and beckoned him to speak again.
"I guess." He shrugged and shoved his hands into his jean pockets. "Now I've gotta go or else my girlfriend will kill me." He added.
"Let me guess she needs your opinion on what color to paint her nails." I said with the upmost sarcasm.
This guy really had some nerve to preform a hit and run.
He turned his head sharply in my direction as if I had just hit a sore spot. "No, actually, the color of her sheets." He spewed out his words slowly.
I bit back a laugh but a grin still was placed upon my face. "Yeah that's pathetic...anywho goodbye. Have fun being dragged around by your girlfriend, hope I never see you again!" I said with false cheer and gave him the biggest fake smile I could muster.
"Likewise." He snarled and revved his engine. Within a second he was gone, hopefully never to be seen again.
I huffed and hauled my three boxes up off of the ground. The school was exactly as you would picture a boarding school. It was a large brick structure surrounded by shrubbery and various plants to make it look more welcoming.
I turned and headed to the dormitory section. The entrance was nearly the same as the academic hall.
The door was sealed and both of my hands were occupied. "Oh come on." I groaned and kicked the door. After I let out my physical agony, I used my hip to bump the door open.
It was surprisingly heavy so it slammed shut on itself. I let out yet another groan and tried again. To my surprise the door had disappeared from its original spot.
"Woah!" I yelped and fell down, sending my things, once again, toppling over. "You have GOT to be kidding me!" My temper had gotten the best of me at this point.
I thought moving would give me a fresh start and positive things to look forward to, but so far there has been nothing but unfortunate events.
"Oh no! Oh no! I'm so sorry I was opening the door to help you I-I didn't realize you were going to do that oh I'm so sorry! Hello Megan! I should have known! Let me help you!" She gasped and rambled on and on.
I thought she would never stop. This gave me enough to time to cool down. At least she felt remorse.
I looked up at the flustered female. She had deep orange hair, amber eyes, and sparse freckles upon her face. She stuck her hand out to help me with a look of shock still on her face.
I took her hand and she pulled me up with surprising strength. "Thanks." I nodded and scoured the floor for the remainder of my belongings.
"I'm Megan Morse by the way." The ginger attempted a smile and began picking up my things, luckily I didn't really have any breakable objects...accept a bottle of this old perfume that my sister had left.
Crap.
I rummaged through the things to find my bathroom bag. I located the grey bag and snatched it up. The bag wasn't wet, so that was a good sign. I unzipped the pouch and grasped the tiny glass bottle.
It was a simple bottle with slightly raised glass bumps containing a light blue liquid. I never really used it, only on special occasions.
It was the only part of my sister I had left, along with an old Alice and Wonderland poster that I had brought with me, but she didn't specifically give it to me like the perfume.
"I'm glad you didn't break that!" Megan spoke softly, I had totally forgotten she was even there. She had successfully picked up all of my items without me noticing at all.
"Yeah." I nodded and slipped it back in the pouch. I sighed and looked up at her. "I'm Artemis." Megan smiled happily and picked up one of my boxes. "Like the Greek goddess?" She giggled.
"I suppose." I nodded once and picked up my other box. I had a backpack with me and after the continuous hits I had to adjust the loosened straps.
"Oh my gosh you are bleeding!" She gasped and I suddenly remembered the cut on my cheek. Megan had acted like it was larger than I thought. "Oh yeah, I'll explain once we get to my dorm." I said lazily and made my way to the elevator.
The red-head politely nodded. "What floor?" I searched my brain for the answer. "My room is 207 so I'm going to guess the second one." An unexpected squeal cam me from Megan.
"My room is 205!" She smiled brightly once again and I couldn't help but give her a small smile back. "Wait...that means you share a room with Zatanna! Oh my gosh you will love her!"
We entered the elevator and rode our short way up. Falling down on floor might not have been such a bad thing if I met a new grind out of it. Granted, I would have eventually met her due to the fact that we were neighbors, but still.
We walked to my room and I soon figured out who Zatanna was. "Oh hey roomie!" She chuckled and opened the door, beckoning me to come in. Her black hair was medium length and she head the most captivating blue eyes I have ever seen.
I strolled in the classic dorm room and set down my boxes with Megan close behind me. I set my bedding up first, a deep green and a few grey throw pillows. I hung my clothes up in my side of the closest and arranged all of my toiletries.
Megan and Zatanna helped me, seeing as they had already unpacked. Finally, I hung up my old poster and sighed with relief.
I was still busting myself with arranging a few things when Megan spoke up. "So, how'd you get that cut on your cheekbone?"
"I was wondering about that too, but I wasn't sure if I should ask yet." Zatanna piped up.
I tapped my lamp ever so slightly so it was parallel with the edge of the desk. "Well I was just walking up to the school when some stupid ginger boy hit me with his motorcycle." I rolled my eyes and plopped down onto my bed.
Megan gasped at the news. "The only ginger boy with a motorcycle at this school is Wally."
Zatannas eyes widened as she connected the dots. "No way." She breathed surprised. "And he didn't even help you with your stuff? Wally wouldn't do that."
I shook my head and closed my eyes for a quick second. "Woah, woah you know this guy?" I questioned. There is no way they are friends with this guy, right?
"Wally? Yeah he's totally one of our best friends." Zatanna chimed in in somewhat disbelief. She started at her light blue sheets. "I can't believe he would do that."
I scoffed at the entire situation. "Yeah he left because he needed to help his girlfriend pick out sheets for her dorm." I noted sarcastically and softly played with my pillow.
For the millionth time that day, they both gasped. "Linda!" Zatanna growled.
From what I had gathered so far, they didn't like this Linda. "Sooo this Linda...is bad?" I tilted my head curiously. If they were bestirs with Wally should they like his girlfriend?
Megan made a sour face. "Very." She sighed and awkwardly looked away. "Ever since they started dating Wally just hasn't been the same."
Zatanna groaned, clearly annoyed. "You've got that right. Linda needs me to do this, Linda needs that, everything is Linda! I don't even know if he truly likes her!"
Both Megan and Zatanna were clearly distraught about the 'Linda' situation. Wally was apparently close with the two and they knew each other very well.
"Mmmm, that's tough." I spoke due to my apparent inability to conjure up a meaningful sentence at this time. I mean, what was I supposed to say?
Time had passed easily. I was already feeling comfortable with Megan and Zatanna. We had chatted about classes, and anything else a girl could talk about. We were all lounging on chairs or beds when there was a knock on the door.
"Hey Zee!" A deep male voice through the door.
The raven-haired girls eyes lit up as soon as the sound reached her ears. "Coming!" She pushed herself up from her bed and rushed to the door.
Zatanna swung the wooden door open and invited the boy in. He had nearly the same basic features as her. Dark hair and bright blue eyes.
"Hey, Dick." She said so calmly you wouldn't be able to tell she had just flipped out about his voice asking permission to enter. Oh yeah, she likes him.
A taller teen with deep skin and light, shaved hair followed him in. His eyes were the palest of blues that exuded a comforting nature.
The tail on the train of people who were entering the door was a particular person I had wished to never see again, but learning the new information of Zatanna and Megan being friends with him I should have expected it.
"Hey Megalicious!" Wally strutted into the room wearing the same motorcycle jacket as before. He stopped dead in his tracks as we made eye contact.
"What is she doing here?!" Wally demanded with the upmost of hatred laced in his voice.
