Viridity;p.2

" Anything could be a stepping stone with some effort

...and anyone, of course. "

Role:

Vampire

Name:

Yue Zhen

Age:

115

Gender:

Female

Sexuality:

Demisexual

Species:

Vampire

Kingdom:

Varox

Appearance:

Xu Jiaqi

Powers:
- Speed

Yue can move faster than the average eye could catch, appearing as a mere blip from one space to another. Of course, other supernatural beings can track her movements better or even predict where she might go. Among vampires with similar speed abilities, her maximum momentum is likely average. However, her rapid bursts of movement come at a cost, extended use drains her stamina quickly, forcing her to pause and recover. She has to use it efficiently, otherwise her depleted stamina might affect her strength as well.

- Super strength

Her seemingly frail stature is quite deceiving, as she is in fact incredibly powerful. She can easily smash a person's bones, or send them flying, so she specialises in close combat. Her strength also requires precise control - if she strikes too hard, she risks injuring herself or losing balance.

Personality:
Yue could be described in many ways, and genuinely nice was not one of them. Despite her rather intimidating aura, she is a social butterfly, easily moving from one group to another, keeping up brief conversations, and picking up little details about her new acquaintances. That doesn't mean she's friendly, oh no. She knows how to maintain appearances and build connections without ever putting on a sweet façade. Simple flattering, without excessively faking emotions could get you far enough. From a young age, she was taught the importance of relationships and how to navigate social interactions. Add to that her unwavering confidence, which helps her sidestep embarrassing situations without so much as a scratch on her ego. The key difference between connections and friendships, in her eyes, is that she wouldn't hesitate to abandon a friendship if standing by someone of higher status would bring her greater benefits.

Yue is the type of woman who would go out of her way to put you down the moment she thinks you're one step ahead of her. She rarely shows emotions, and when she does, it's either calculated or fleeting. She keeps people at arm's length, unwilling to let attachments weaken her resolve. It's not that she dislikes having others around - far from it. If she were on a dangerous mission, she'd much rather have company than face it alone. But true connections? Genuine friendships? Those are a luxury she has no intention of indulging in. She can be collaborative, it's just that she doesn't want to become close with others. She's not going to run away from conversations, to hide from others or intentionally fight with people in order to push them away. That would be a waste of time and would get her nowhere close to maintaining strong connections that she could use in the future.

Yue sees the benefits of having 'relations', just not friends who can become liabilities. If there's a problem, she fixes it herself. If she's hurt, she patches herself up. She sees depending on others as a weakness, if she ever were to 'depend' on someone it would be because she's using them to achiever her greater goals, not because she couldn't have solved the problem herself. Yue's always paying attention to how others act around her, mentally judging every single person for their smallest mistakes. No slip-up goes unobserved by her and usually, she's prone to spewing a snarky, uncalled for remark, which she'd then pretend to have never said... probably. Sometimes, she owns up to it.

Background:

Yue was the youngest child of a distinguished family, who had a lineage of respected vampires in their community. She was taught from a young age that in order to live in this war-driven world, you had to get yourself strong strategical allies, by proving your worth. She lived a childhood where her parents tried their best to explain to her that people were either useful or not, a means of gaining an advantage, or an impediment that had to be discarded as soon as possbile. Her whole personality was mended by her upbringing, and the cause of this was in fact, her bum of an older brother. He was supposed to be the heir to their family, or at least to try to cover the empty space that was the head of the family when their father was gone on missions to help the army, but he was unable to do so. Yue had watched her lazy brother who preferred to use their family's influence to indulge in his thirst and need for entertainment.

She couldn't help but watch as all of her parents' work fell into ruin when her older brother disappeared after losing control one day - watching as the adults had to take the blame for it all, after all, her brother had upset some of her father's connections by accidentally murdering a bigshot's favored blood bag. Someone had to take the blame for that and repay the prejudices caused, but that guy was absent. That's why, although Yue might have the tendency of acting like a high-court lady of some sorts, for more than half of her life she's lived a mediocre life, since her family's name had been tainted by a fool, and the shock of those events had weakened her father's resolve, who decided to spend more time on battlefield than at home. He died a few years ago, like an idiot who knew that his place wasn't in a war, but at home playing social games.

At least his death proved something: all men in her family were fools. Yue was going to revive her family's legacy, she was determined to climb up the ranks and make a name for herself in Varox. She was ready to jump into a war, but perhaps it wasn't the one that everybody else was fighting for...

Other:

- She doesn't see humans as anything more than nourishment, and she's quite selective when it comes to her food.

- Yue actually has a soft spot for animals, there was one time when her mother let her take care of a frog she found in the forest.
