Alexander's POV

  "Get the fuck off me!" I yelled trying to break free from the person's grip. "Sage call the ambulance for David!" "They are already on their way." she answered me. "Will you let me go already!" I yelled, still struggling. He finally let me go and looked at me. "Who the fuck are you?" I asked still running off the anger from what happened earlier. "Damn I should've known you wouldn't remember me." he said putting me down. I ignored him and ran back over to David "I'm so sorry. Why didn't just let me get hit?" I asked him. He looked at me like I was stupid "What did I tell you last night? Yeah shut up" was all he said, making me low key blush. In about 5 minutes, the ambulance came and loaded him on to the stretcher. "Alex you ride with him. Me and Aurora will meet you there." Sage said. "I'll meet ya'll there too" the random guy said.

  I got in the David as we drove to New Haven hospital. I texted Sage this information so she would know where we were. Plus imma need a ride home. "Look at you caring about me and shit." David said. "I always care about my friends. What you mean?" I tilted my head. He shook his head and pulled out his phone. In a few seconds I got a text message from a random number.

Unknown number: Wait until I get out of here, smartass.

 I looked up and saw him smirking at me. How he got my number is beyond me. I texted him back.

Me: Error 404 the number you are trying to reach is no longer in service. (Message 504)

  He sucked his teeth and put his phone away. Ten minutes later, we were pulling up in the hospital parking lot. They unloaded him and transported him into the emergency room, with me right behind them. "Sir I'm sorry but we can't let past this point." a nurse said stopping me. I sucked my teeth and said OK. There's no use in trying to argue with them, they are only doing their job. Plus that's mad extra anyway. I decided to sit in the waiting room and play some games on my phone while I waited for Sage and Aurora to show up. About a half and hour past before Sage and Aurora both came in. "Any news yet?" Aurora asked me. "Nope nothing yet. Just waiting on them. I noticed that they weren't alone, the guy from earlier came with them as well. "Are you stalking me or something?" I asked him. "No I just-" "Friends of Mr. Holmes?" a doctor asked.

  We all ran up to him. "Is he OK?" I asked. "He's fine luckily. The impact wasn't that hard so luckily it's just a strain. Any harder and and he would've need surgery on his back." he said. I breathed a sigh of relief "Thank God. Can we go see him now?" I asked a little too hype for my liking. "Yes you can. He's in room 226. Be careful on the hugs." he said as he walked away. We all got up and walked towards his room. When we got there, he was laying in bed on his phone. "Ahem." I said getting his attention and scaring him at the same time. "Wassup y'all? How long y'all been standing there?" he said. "Eh, about five minutes ago. Glad you're ok." Sage said. "Yea I'm definitely glad you good David. Thank you." Aurora said. Mystery dude didn't say nothing but gave him a handshake. "Could I talk to Alex for a minute y'all?" David said. "Sure. We'll be outside if you need us." Sage said closing the door behind them.

  "So you met my parents aka the people that did all those things I told you yesterday." I said sitting on his chair with my head down. This is why I don't want people getting too close to me. "Aye, c'mere" he said. I got up out of the chair and sat on his bed. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him. "None of this is your fault OK?" "But-" "But nothing. I made a promise to you last night didn't I? I meant what I said Alex. I'm not gonna let nobody hurt you like that." he said hugging me.  Damn him, got me tearing up and shit. "I don't know what to say." was all I could manage to say. "You don't have to say anything. C'mere." he said pulling me in for a kiss. Those damn lips man! They're like heaven. After about two minutes, he broke the kiss and said "That's what friends are for." I smiled. "Now get outta here my mom dramatic ass is gonna be hear soon and I don't want this to be the way y'all meet." he said smiling. 

  "Well damn just kick me out why don't you." I said as I walked out the room. "I'll text you when I get home." he said as I closed the door. When I walked out, I saw that Sage and Aurora were gone and that mystery dude was still there. "They had to leave because they both got called into work. They told me to tell you that and asked if I didn't mind taking you home." the guy said. Remind me to kill those two for not telling me this themselves. "I don't really trust you but I don't have any other choice. Let's go." I said as he lead the way to his car. He's pushing a 2012 Nissan Maxima all black everything, I like. He kept trying to make small talk as he was driving and it was irritating me. "Look nigga I don't know you and you don't know me. I prefer to keep it that way. Now stop talking to me!" I said. He didn't say anything else after that, good. 

  I noticed that he wasn't driving me home. "Eh, Sage's house is the other way." I said low key panicking. My parents really outdone themselves this time. "Well God I just wanna thank you for bringing me this far in life, I guess this is the end" I mentally said my little prayer. When I opened my eyes, I noticed that we were at a park. This place feels so familiar. I got out the car and sat on the bench nearby. "Listen Alex you might not remember me but I got something to tell you." he said sitting down next to. I took a deep breath and decided to hear him out. "What is it?" I asked. "I'm your brother. It's me Jordan!" he said smiling at me. "I don't believe you. Prove it." I said challenging him. "Your birthday is October 16th, your are 18, you have a birthmark in the shape of a crescent moon on your back. Your favorite car is the one I'm driving, you hate licorice, one of your toes is a little bit bigger then the other. I can keep going if you want." he said smiling at me. 

   I took a really good look at him (never was paying him any attention earlier shut up) and sure enough, it really is him. He has definitely grown since I last seen him. Just like that, anger washed all over me as I punched him dead in his face, making him spit out a little blood. "Alex what the fuck?" he said in confusion "You left me!" I said dripping with anger. "I can explain-" "You left me while they did all of those things too me! Where were you Jordan? I needed you!" I said as I began to cry. "Who did what things to you Alex?" he said concerned. "Those demons you call parent's Jordan! They've been beating, starving and raping me for the last 6 years!" I said through sobs. His face broke as he began to cry as well. I lifted my shirt to show him some the marks that I still had. "They did all of this!" I said. "Oh my god Alex. I'm so sorry." he said an shock pulling me in for a hug. 

  "I called for you every night, hoping you would come and save me from them." I cried into his shoulder. "I know I can't make up for that time but I'm here now little bro. I'm not going anywhere! Especially not now!" he said making the hug tighter. After about a half hour of us crying, we decided to go get something to eat. "I want some Red Lobster." I said as he drove. "Got ya kid" he responded, I honestly missed my brother so much! I noticed he wasn't driving to Red Lobster. "Um Jordan, where are you going?" I asked him, confused. "To handle some business" was all he said. Don't tell me my brother is a drug dealer. I snapped out of my thoughts when I saw that we were at my parents house. I looked over and saw that he wasn't in the car either. 

  Next thing you know, I heard a loud crack as Jordan kicked my parents door in and barged inside like he was SWAT. "You sick fucks!" he said as loud crashes and glass breaking followed behind that. I quickly ran in the house after him. The house looked a mess and my mom was passed out in the corner. "I didn't hit her or anything. Just put her ass in a sleep hold." he said as he continued beating my dad's ass. I noticed that he was damn near killing him so I had to stop him. As much as I wanted to enjoy this, I definitely don't want my brother to go to jail either. "Jordan stop! Let's go!" I said pulling him off, well at least trying to pull him off of our father. This nigga was like the hulk. "No this nigga deserves to die by my hands Alex! All that shit they put you through!" he said crying while still punching him. "If you do that, then you'll go to jail and who knows that they'll do then?" I said trying to reason with him. "You right. Let's go" he said as he stopped and walked out the door.

   On our way out, my dad started laughing. "Fucking pussies!" he said laughing harder. "Alex!" Jordan said as he tried to catch me but I was already gone. "The only pussy is you bitch!" I said as I punched him square in his face, knocking his ass out. "Let's go!" Jordan said picking me up and taking my to the car. "Hand me those alcohol wipes out of the glove compartment." he said as he started the car up. I reached in and got about 4 out. 3 for him and one for me. I wiped the blood from my knuckles while he wiped his. I handed him and extra one because he definitely needed it. "I'm sorry Alex." he said sniffling. "Jordan your here now and I need you more than ever." I said leaning over and hugging him. After he finished cleaning his hands, he continued to go to Red Lobster as planned. "I hope you still hungry because I damn sure am." he said making me laugh. 

  Once we pulled up, the waiter showed us to our seats. "I'll give you guys a few minutes to order." she said as she walked away. "You know what you want?" Jordan asked me. I nodded my head. He waved his hand and she came back. "Are you guys ready to order?" she asked with a smile. "Yeah we'll start with drinks first. He'll have a lemonade and I'll take a mudslide." he said as he handed her his ID. "OK and now your meal?" she said handing him back his ID. "I want to do the endless shrimp so I have shrimp Linguini Alfredo and the Korean barbecue shrimp with a side of mashed potatoes." I said. "I'll have the full portion Cajun Chicken Alfredo." Jordan said as she wrote down both of our orders. "OK. I'll be back with your drinks while I wait for your food to be done." she said as she walked away. Jordan pulled out his phone and began to text. "Who you texting?" I asked being the annoying little brother that I am.

  "Nobody." he said putting his phone away. 'Aww you got a girlfriend. I can't wait to meet her." I said smiling at him. About 5 minutes passed until our waiter came back with our drinks. "Here you go. Sorry for the wait." she said placing our drinks in front of us. "It's fine." we said as we took our drinks and waited for our food to come out next. As we were waiting, I decided to play some games on my phone to help past the time. "There you are! I've been looking everywhere for you." a girl said walking up to Jordan. This must be his girlfriend. "I texted you and told you where I was." he said laughing. "Aww she's cute Jor. Nice!" I said smiling at him. They both laughed like I just said the funniest thing in the world making me look at both of them confused. Then Jordan faced got serious. "Alex this isn't my girl." Well I feel like a dumbass. 

  He took a deep breath "Alex this is our sister Mariah".
