Alexander POV

I woke up the next morning still thinking about what had happened last night. I can't believe I actually call those people parents. What better way to celebrate my birthday huh? That's right, today is my birthday. I'm officially a legal adult (I think). I got out of bed and proceeded to get ready for school before either one of those creatures woke up and began their daily torture routine. While I was brushing my teeth, I took a quick second to observe my face. Luckily I didn't have any major bruises on my face due to me blocking that part of my body. My mid section was still a bit sore but the pain was bearable so I think I can manage. I quickly gathered all of my things and headed out the door.

After I got about five blocks away from home, I decided to call Sage and see if she could pick me up. "Say no more. I'm on my way." she said as I ended the call. About ten minutes later, she pulled up, I quickly got in. "Happy Birthday Baby!" she said as she hugged me, not to tight because I was still in recovery. "Thank you so much baby girl. I hope today is gonna be a good day." I said, silently hoping it's true. "We're gonna make sure it is! It's all about you today baby boy." she said as she pulled off. "You work today?" she said keeping her eyes on the road. "Yup. You know this." I said as I pulled out my phone. "Fuck!" I said noticing that I only had about 12% of battery left.

I didn't get a chance to charge it because of, yeah I rather not rehash that nightmare. "What's wrong?" Sage asked coming to a stop at the red light. "I forgot to charge my phone last night so my phone is gonna die soon." I explained. "I got you covered, I have a portable charger in the glove compartment that I keep charged just in case. You can just use that and charge your phone." she said as she pulled off when the light turned green. I reached into the glove compartment and grab the portable charger and plugged my phone. "Thanks Sage, you're a lifesaver." I said. "No problem babe. Ready to begin the festivities?" she said as well pulled into the school's parking lot.

"Let's go." I smiled as we got our things and exited the car. I put my phone and the charger in my book bag so it could charge while we were in class and allat. "Happy Birthday Baby!" Aurora yelled as soon as she saw me. "Thank you so much! I so glad to have both of you guys in my life. You both really make my day." I said trying not to break down from all of the emotions I was going through at the time, the main one being comfort. "Awww baby! We're glad to be here and we're glad you are apart of our lives as well." Sage said. "Yup we're the three musketeers for life ya dig?" Aurora said making us all laugh. "I forgot something in the car, I'll be right back." Sage said running out the building.

"She better hurry her ass up. She know that bell about to ring and they like to be extra and shit" Aurora said. "Yea that is true" I laughed. As we were walking to our lockers, I noticed David standing by I'm guessing what was his locker. I also noticed that he was smiling at me or at least in my direction. I did a double take to make sure he was looking at me. Turns out that it was a random girl walking behind me. Probably figuring out how to slide in her DM's or how it's gonna take before he fucks her. Yeah I'm a lil salty, shut up. I just want a relationship of my own you know? "Xan! Xan!" Aurora said snapping me out of my trance. "Huh?" was all I could say.

"What are you thinking about? Had me calling you for the last 15 minutes and shit. Embarrassing me in front of my new white friends." she said playfully rolling her eyes, making me smile. "Just thinking about the day I actually have somebody to call my own, ya know?" I said as she nodded her head. "That makes two of us. These niggas ain't shit. All they wanna do is fuck then call you a hoe after they hit like they wasn't just begging you for something like one of those kids on the commercials. For one dollar a day you can help this nigga get some pussy head asses." she finished making me laugh. "Here you go baby!" Sage said, ending the conversation. When I turned around, I seen that she had two balloons, a cake, and a card in her hand.

"Oh my god! Than you so much Sage!" I said smiling so much and taking the gifts from her. "Wait there's more!" I heard Aurora say, making me turn towards her. She got me 2 pairs of jeans, two shirts and a gift card to Friday's. I couldn't hold it in any more and I began to cry. "You guys." was all I could manage to say. When you are so used to getting pennies and pocket lint from you parents every year for the last six years, you come to appreciate everything that isn't that. "Stop crying. You're gonna make us cry. We still have a lot more to do today." Aurora said. I wiped my face, smiled and said "You're right. Let's get through this morning first. Let's go." I said as I lead the way to our first period.

When I arrived in the classroom, everyone yelled happy birthday to me whuch surprised me since I barely talk to any one besides Sage and Aurora. "Thank you all so much! It really means a lot to me!" I said overcome with happiness. The rest of the day, I got nothing but happy birthdays from random people that walked past me either in the hallways or in the same class as me. "Excuse me Ms.Jones, may I go to the bathroom?" I asked my last period teacher. "Sure birthday boy! Take the pass" she smiled and resumed her lesson. I made my way to the bathroom to handle my business. This has really been an amazing birthday and it's no over yet. I haven't felt this happy in years. I finished, washed my hands and proceed back to class. As soon as I turned the corner to get to my class, I bumped into something.

"My bad." I said hoping that the person was in a good mood today. "You good. The person said back. They sound familiar. I looked up and saw that it was David that I had bumped into. "I should've been looking where I was going. I'm sorry again." I apologized once more. "No problem and I'm sorry about what happened yesterday. Dom was having a rough morning I guess." he said. "Oh. Well I'll see you around." was all I could say. "Ok. Happy Birthday." he said as I started to my walk back to class. I was to scared/nervous to respond to that. When school was over, me and Sage headed to our job while Aurora said she was see us later. I was determined to milk this day for all it's worth before my parents ruined it.

When we got to our job, everyone screamed happy birthday to me, complete with song as well. This is really one of the best birthday's ever man. It was even better when collectively, I made about $350 and Ms. Sanchez told me and Sage that we could leave early today. By early, I mean that we were only there for about two hours before she said go home. I so lucky that someone so caring is my boss. I swear I would probably be unemployed if I had someone else as a boss. We headed straight to the mall to meet up with Aurora. Sage and Aurora bought me more clothes and some new sneakers. They even brought me facial masks, underwear and allat. I felt so overjoyed and happy but scared at the same time because I couldn't take these home, my parents would pretty much kill me.

"Don't worry, we'll take these home so you can quit your worrying." Sage said smiling. I guess my worry must've been as clear as day. I breathed a sigh of relief and continued getting splurged on by my friends. We ended the day by going to the cheesecake factory. To be honest, I've never been here but I heard their food was somewhat good. "It is. They are mostly known for their cheesecakes though." Aurora said. I guess I said that out loud. "You did." Sage said, laughing with Aurora. We all ate and laughed as we talked about our day in school. After that, we decided to end our day there. "Did you enjoy your day baby?" Sage asked. "Yes I did! I can't thank you guys enough!" "It was our pleasure. We love seeing you smile kid." Sage said. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. Oh here." Aurora said handing me $20. "You've already done enough Ror, I can't accept this." I said handing her the money back.

"It's cool. I just got paid today anyway so take it chump." Aurora said hugging me and running back to her car. "Welp let's go kiddo." Sage said. I waved as I watched Aurora drive away and then got into the car with Sage. I checked the time and saw that it was 11:45. I'm definitely dead but it was well worth it. When Sage came to my block, I handed her everything I of monetary value so my parents would't steal it or outright take it. "I'll see you tomorrow Sage. Thanks again." I said smiling. I noticed that she put $40 in my wallet in addition to the other money I already had. "There you go that's better. See you tomorrow kid." she said hugging me. I began my walk into my fortress of hell. As soon as I walked in, I was met with a strong backhand. "You think because today is your birthday that means you can do what you want?!" my dad yelled.

"I-" was all I could say before he punched me in my stomach 5 times and then threw a penny at me. Guess that was my birthday gift. "Get over here and suck this dick!" he said unzipping his pants. I really didn't want to do this so I didn't move. "Oh so you not gonna get up? That's fine, I'll come to you." he said walking over to me with his dick in his hand. "Suck it!" he said as I still didn't move. He used his freehand to grab me by my neck and pick me up. "I said suck it" he said expecting me to flinch and open my mouth but I didn't. He punched my in my stomach again, which made me open my mouth wide enough for him to stick his dick in. I literally couldn't breathe but he didn't care. Happy Birthday to me.
