Rob POV

  "How does this speed dating thing work again?" I asked Alexis as we walked into the building. "You take a seat and a random person will come and you guys will chat. If you think you found your match, you can leave with your match and see how far it'll go. If you don't think you found the one, the bell will ring and another guy will come. Then it's the same thing all over again. You got this. If you need me just text me. I'll be right at the bar." she said as she winked at me and walked over to the bar area. Y'all probably are wondering how I got here, here's how it all started.... Sike!

  Me and Alexis were bored so we came across this little speed dating thing on Instagram. We decided to give it a shot since we didn't have anything else to do. Alexis can't participate because she already has a dude. So now I have to enjoy this little event for the both of us. Eh, whatever. I low key don't want to be here because I'm not used to this new age stuff. Where I come from, if you like someone, you just approach them and go from there. I guess since most people are scare to do that for fear of other things, mainly rejection, they decided to move to online or these types of events so it's more easier for them. I guess it'll take some getting used to on my part. 

  "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us today. We will begin in a few minutes. The rules are as follows...' she said as I began to drown her out. Alexis already went over this so I'm not really that interested in what she had to say right now. I was snapped out of my day dream by the sound of a bell ringing and Alexis giving me a thumbs up. I let out a laugh as I seen a heap of people start coming to the tables. A unisex speed dating, I'm with it. 

A few moments later... 

  Yeah I want to go now. I met a few potential ones but then they shot themselves in the foot as the conversation got deeper. One was saying how he couldn't be seen with and ugly person even though he really wasn't the best looking person here, go figure. Another one kept bragging about the money he had and how he could buy someone's life at the drop of a dime. Definitely a get out moment. Another kept talking about her beauty. I literally can not stand those types of people. Like if you are beautiful, you do not need me to tell you 700 times a day nor do you need to rub it in people's face either. If I wiped your face with a baby wipe, would you still be beautiful? Thought so.

  I was playing games on my phone when this guy came and sat down in front of me:   

  He's kinda cute. Let's see where this goes. "Sure go ahead." I said as I continued to play the game on my phone. "You not gonna look at me?" he said. Now he has my attention. I put my phone down and looked at him. I'm liking this little vision here. "What's your name?" I asked with an eyebrow raised. "It's Marcellus." he responded with a smile. We spent the rest of the time getting to know each other. OK universe I see you working. The bell rung signaling that it was time to switch. "I wanted to get to know you more." he said as he stood up. "Who said you couldn't?" I smiled as stood up with him. I grabbed his hand and lead hit to the bar. 

  Let's hope this one is actually worth it. 

20 minutes later....

  I'm instantly regretting my decision. Listen, when we first got here, the conversation was going great. 10 minutes later, he started getting into politics. He wasn't even letting me get a word in the conversation. I can not stand people that OD on political topics. If your gonna talk about it, make sure you're also proposing solution or actively working towards that goal. I looked past him to see if I could spot Alexis. Luckily she wasn't that far from us. I gave her the "get me the fuck outta here" look and she did just that. "Um excuse me, we have a family emergency to tend to." she said as she dragged me away from him. 

  Didn't even let him say anything else to me. Thank you lord for friends like her. Once we made it out of the building, I let out a sigh followed by a laugh. "Thank you so much for saving me." I said as we kept walking. "What was going on? You looked like you was gonna die back there." she said as I laughed. "Everything was going great until we got over there. He started talking about politics and from there that's all the conversation was about. He wasn't even letting me say a word. Sucks because aside from that, we could've definitely went further." I said as I shrugged my shoulders. "Seems like this was a bust." she said as we both laughed. "I didn't really have any expectations going in there but I guess you have to when you're doing these types of events." I said as we got in the car. We joked about it on the ride home. 

  "OK kid, momma has a hot date tonight so I have to go an get ready." she said as I nodded my head. "Go ahead and have fun for me." I said as waved her off. I sat down for a minute before deciding that I just wanted to take a walk. I grabbed my keys and locked the door before walked down the street. It was a nice sunny day with a  nice breeze blowing (A/N: My ideal weather). I walk to a near by park and sat down on one of the swings just thinking about the day. It's definitely been a funny one to say the least. I got a lil hungry so I decide to just get something from the corner store to hold me over until I got home. I grabbed a honey bun, 2 bags of frooties candy and a days soda before continuing my walk. "Can I get some?" a voice said before I looked around to see who it was:    

  He lucky I din't mind sharing this candy. "Sure." I said as I walked up to him. "I haven't seen you around here before, you new?" he asked as I looked at him. "You're welcome. Yup. i guess you would know that since you're the block watch captain. " I said causing me and him both to laugh. "My bad. Thank you and nah it's not even like that. I just don't remember seeing you around these parts." he said as I laughed again. "Suuuurrreeee. You don't have to lie. If you're the block watch captain, say that. " I laughed. "I promise I'm not. What's your name?" he said as he laughed. "Rob. You?" I responded. "Troy. Nice to meet you." he said as he had his hand out. 

  I shook it expecting for him to let go when he just pulled me down next to him. "You know you could've just said 'hey you mind sitting here and chilling with me?' ya know?" I said as he laughed. "You funny bu I knew you was gonna try and make up a lie or some shit just to get away from me." he said as he laughed. "Well  I was.......never mind." I said as I laughed. We sat there and talked. I occasionally took a few videos on Snapchat with him jumping in it, causing me to get a few messages about who he was and allat. He followed me on Instagram and snap. Look at the world, out here correcting mistakes and what not. Winning.  "Wassup Troy!?" a few people would say when they walked past us. 

  "Looks like someone is a little famous. Lemme go for some ask for an autograph or something. I said as I begin to move only for him to put his around me. "Stop playing with me." he said as he looked into my eyes. He's fine. "What's wrong? You don't want to be see with the block watch captain?" he said causing me to laugh. "Nope. You might have some undercover enemies out here. I'm not trying to be guilty by association." I said as he laughed. He has some nice teeth. "You funny as shit yo. Nothing's going to happen to you. You good. Besides I'm like superman over here." he all hype, making me laugh at him. "Even he has his kryptonite." I said as I winked at him. For some reason, being in this position was really comfortable. "Yo. Rob, Rob!" he yelled as I looked at him like he was stupid or something. Deep ass voice. 

  Shit sounded like we was at a damn concert and I was standing right next to the stereo. "Damn. Glad I can still hear." I said as he laughed. "I wouldn't have done it if you would've heard me the first time." he smiled. "Wassup?" I said as he let me go. I was getting used to that. "I was saying you're girl or dude is one lucky person because you're cool as hell." he smiled. "Who said I had somebody." I said with an eyebrow raised. "Well I assumed-" "The first 3 letters of that word are what you made of your self." I said calmly I burst out laughing. "So you single?" he asked as I smiled. "Yup. I damn sure wouldn't be walking around like I'm in a Jill Scoot music video. I said as we laughed.  "True true. My bad. Can I get your number?" he asked looking a little nervous. 

  I reached my hand out and placed my number in his phone as he smiled. Somebody is happy. I smiled at him as I stood up. "It's getting a little late and I gotta work tomorrow."I said as I stood up. He stood up with me and pulled me in for a hug. On the calm, I pulled out my phone and took a snap of us with a question mark as the caption. "I really ain't want to let you go but get home safe and text me when you get there. If anything goes wrong, the block watch captain will be there to save you." he said as I literally burst out laughing. "You play too much but I'll see you around." I waved as I walked away. Throughout the walk home, I just couldn't stop thinking about earlier. That was too much fun. When I made it home, I saw that I a few notifications from on my phone. I read and responded to most of the snaps I got, leaving Troy for later because I still haven't texted him yet. I finally text him and told him was home.   

 He said he was happy to hear that and that he hoped that we could spend some more time together. I smiled when he said that and replied with maybe. When I opened hie snap response, it was a smiley face. i sent him a wink before heading in the bathroom to shower and getting ready for bed. "Today has been a good day." I said before I closed my eyes.
