Rob up there.

Rob POV

  I bust out laughing as I handed the invitation back to Alexis. "Ha ha ha. Nice joke Alexis. Very funny." I said as I wiped the tears from my eyes. "Uh Rob, I'm not joking." She said as her face stayed serious. "Then how come you're the only one with an invitation?" I said with my eyebrow raised. "I don't know. We got this in the mail a few days ago. Antonio just handed this to me yesterday when I got off work. He thought it was a joke too." She said as she looked at me.

  "I- don't believe you." I said as my voice was starting to tremble. "Call Malik and see if he has one. I wouldn't do some sick shit like this to you rob and you know that." She said as I went and gave her a hug. "Yeah I know Lex and I apologize for that." I said before grabbing my phone and calling Malik. It took him a few rings before he finally answered.

  "Wassup Rob!" He said upon answer. "Hey Malik. Lemme ask you something." "Shoot" "OK. Did you also get an invitation to Derrick and Jasmine's wedding?" I asked as it got quiet for a minute. "Yeah I just got it a few days ago. I'm assuming you got yours as well?" He asked as I turned to look at Alexis. She just simply shrugged her shoulders. "Rob?" Malik said, snapping my attention back to my phone.

  "Ha yeah of course I did. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one who got theirs." I said nervously laughing. I hope he can't tell I'm faking. "Oh ight cool. I was hoping to see you there." he said. "I'll be there. Let me just make sure I'm off that day. Thanks Malik." I said before hanging up the phone. "Wow. Looks like I'm the only one who hasn't gotten an invitation." I said to myself. "I'm sorry Rob." Alexis said before hugging me. If we're being honest, I actually forgot she was still here. I tried my best to mask my expression so she wouldn't see how hurt I was at the moment. "Uh, what day is the wedding?" I asked her. I really did pay to much attention to rest of the invitation after the first part. "Two weeks from now." she said lowly. 

  "Ah OK. Got it." I said as I gave her a smile. "Rob, are you sure your OK?" she asked giving me a look of concern. "Yeah I'm good Lex. He really moved on so there's nothing I can do. Though I will say that this marriage took me by surprise." I said as I shrugged my shoulders. "Uh, OK. I gotta hurry up and meet Antonio before he kills me." she said kissing my cheek as she left. Once that door close, I lie to you not, I broke down. "That was supposed to be us." I said as tears rushed down my face. My little crying session was quickly interrupted by an incoming Skype call. I quickly fixed my face before answering the call. "Wassup Markos." I said smiling. "Hey. You didn't call me yesterday. That's foul." he said pouting as I laughed. "I'm sorry, I was tired as hell after I got off work so I just went straight to sleep." I said as he just nodded his head. 

  "Don't do that to me." I said laughing. "I guess I'll give you a pass this time. Wassup with you?" he asked. "Oh  nothing much, been working as usual-" "and crying as well. Cut the bullshit Rob." he said cutting me off. "Your eyes are red as hell. So, what's really up?" he said as he adjusted his position. "Well I just found out my ex is getting married and that I wasn't invited." I said as I sighed. "The one you came here with? Why is bothering you that much?" he said as he looked at me. "Well we were engaged but I got hit by a car and caught amnesia. Long story short, our relationship was done once I got my memory back as he already had a girlfriend by then." "And you still love him." he said as I looked dead at him. "You still love him rob and that's why it's eating you up so much." he added. 

  "I could've told you that much when I kissed you and your reaction when he saw it. You looked like you just got caught cheating or something. It was funny to watch. How long ago was it when y'all broke up when you was here?" he asked. "3 weeks." "So a fairly fresh breakup. It's understandable why you still would have feelings for him then. Let me ask you something." he said as I nodded for him to continue. "Do you still love him?" he simply said. "Yes." I responded before I even let the question digest. "Damn. That was fast. Well then you know what you have to do then Rob." he said as I nodded. "Why didn't I meet you sooner?" I said as he laughed. "Is that a compliment?" he asked as I smiled. "Yeah. Things would've been so much different." I said as I sighed. "Sure would. You would've been in my arms." he said as I smiled. I must have the sauce. We spent the rest of the night talking about our day before hanging up and going to bed.

 Day Of Reckoning   

  "Thanks you so much for the massage Tony." I said smiling as I opened the door for him. "No problem. You were really tense. You good?" he asked me. "Just been dealing with a lot that's all. I feel better now." I said as I smiled at him. "Why you playing?" he said smirking. "I'm not playing. I'd be lying if I told you I wanted to see where things would end up." I said as he nodded his head. "Well at least you were honest so I can respect that." he said smiling. I gave him a hug as he left. See, all the options I have but I only want one. I went into the kitchen to get me something when my phone starting to ring. "Hello?" I said upon answer. "You are where?" Alexis asked. "Uh home getting something to drink." I said as I rolled my eyes. "So...........you not coming to the wedding?" she asked as I damn near spit out my water. "Shit I forgot. Send me the address." I said as I ran upstairs to make sure I looked cool. "Hurry your ass up." she said as she hung up. 

  Shortly after that, I got a text from her. I knew I could count on her. I jumped in my car as I started the GPS. I jumped back out the car to make sure I locked the door. I ain't trynna come home to an empty ass house. Fuck outta here. As I drove, memories of me Derrick replayed in my head. "I finally got you to give me a chance to make you happy."  "There's so much more I have to show so don't thank me just yet baby." " Naw it's clear you playing me for that nigga. Now all of a sudden, you want to go out. To see that bum ass nigga again huh. Wouldn't surprise me if y'all are talking."  "Yeah I have insecurities but I'm working on that. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So please accept 365 roses representing the years we stay together." "Promise me that in two months, you'll still be mine and that you'll actually say yes. Promise me that you'll allow me to continue to shower you in nothing but love and affection. Can you do that for me?"

  "I figured that if I kept pushing you away, it would've eased the blow my heart would taken, should you stayed with him." "I love you so much Derrick, but your aren't mines anymore. I want you to make her the happiest woman in the world. Shower her in nothing but love and affection. When she hurts, comfort her. Hold nothing back from her. Motivate her. Grow with her. Promise me you'll do that." "I'll see you around baby". By the time I made it to the venue, I was in full blown tears. I wasted no time walking into the church. "If anyone has any objections-" "Derrick you can't marry her!" I yelled as I walked in the room. 

Derrick POV

  My body jumped when I seen my heart walk into the room. He can he look so damn good in regular clothes? "You can't marry her Derrick because I still love you! I always have. No matter how much I tried to run from it, I still love you. I love you so much that I still keep this with me at all times." he said as he pulled out our engagement ring. "I can never get rid of it nor replace because your the only man worthy of doing so." he said as I felt that last line. "You marrying her is a joke. Especially when I'm the one that has your heart. Remember that?" he said as I nodded my head yes. "You told me that it would be hard for you to move on when I'm the one who really the one thing that matters the most." "My heart." I said as I finished his sentence. Every memory of me and him came flooding back. I really love that boy. "So please, do not marry her. Please." he said as more tears came down his face. "I'm sorry Rob." I said as he ran out the room. 

Rob POV 

  Welp, I poured my heart out only for it to get broken. For real this time. "Funny how life works huh." I said to myself as I cried some more. "Yeah. It lead you right back to me." I heard as voice say as I felt arms wrap around my waist. "Rob I've been waiting for you for so long. So long. I honestly thought you gave up on me. Especially when I saw you kiss ole dude. I took that as I sign of you moving on so I thought it was best to do the same but  God damn was it hard when  you were the only thing on my mind 24/7. I prayed and prayed for you to come back to me but once I finally took the hint that you were gone, I gave up hoping." he said as even more tears ran down my face. "I'm not gonna lie and tell you that I almost went through with this wedding until you showed up." 

  "Actually if you didn't, I actually would have." he said sighing. Something about him holding me like this makes me feel so safe. "I missed you and I'm glad you brought my heart back because I still have yours." he said as he kissed my neck. "Do me a favor." he said as I nodded my head. "Go home. Go home and get some sleep. I got it from here." he said as he let me go. I just nodded my head ans did what he said. Once I made it home, I took a shower and was out cold after that. Today has felt like one big dream.

2 Weeks Later. 

      It's been two weeks since Derrick "wedding" and I haven't heard from him since. Maybe he actually did get married. Maybe their on their honeymoon now. Stop being dramatic Rob. I was snapped out of my thoughts by my phone ringing. "Hello?" "Hey have you seen Derrick?" Alexis asked. "Uh no. I have no idea where he's at." I said as she sighed. "I was hoping he'd be with you. No on has seen him in two weeks." she said as my heart started racing. "Oh shit. What about his job?" I asked her. "Malik said that he asked for time off and that he's been trying to reach him since. No luck." she said as I started to panic. My phone started beeping indicating that I had another call. "Lex imma call you back. It's Derricks mom." I said before clicking the line over. 

  "Hi mom." "Hi my baby." she said as I could feel the happiness radiating of her voice. "Have you seen Derrick?" she asked me. Well damn, everyone just assumed that he'd be with me huh? "No ma I haven't seen him? Is everything OK?" "Yeah. Kind of. He's not married to say the least but he's been M.I.A for 2 weeks now. We were all hoping he'd be with you but I guess we can rule that out of the equation." she said as she sighed. I guess that explains why almost EVERYONE texted me. Here I thought they were just checking up on me. Fake mfs. "Well alright baby. I guess I'll try his cousins next. I love you." I love you too." I said before hanging up. Where the hell did you go Derrick? I closed my eyes as I tried to figure something out. "I always come here when I need a break from things." "Let's see if I know where I'm going." I said as I walked to my car.  
  

  "Looks like I still remember this spot." I said as I pulled up to park. I immediately spotted Derrick leaning against his car:

  Thank you LED headlights. I turned the car off (but left the headlights on) as I walked towards him. "I knew you'd be the one to find me." he said laughing as he blew out the smoke. "Looks like I still remember this place. What's up? How come you've been M.I.A for the past two weeks? I asked as I sat on the trunk of his car. "I just needed time to clear my head that's all." he simply said. "You couldn't give someone a heads up?" I asked. "You found me." he said as I shut up. Point taken. "So what happened?" I asked as he continued to smoke. "Welp after I told you to leave, I called off the wedding. Shorty was mad or whatever but she understood. She actually said she see why I fell in love with you. After that, I just decided to take time for myself." he said as he inhaled the smoke. "Wow." I said as we sat there in silence. 

  "Rob, what was the first thing I told you?" he asked as I took a second to think. "You was going to make me believe in love again." I answered. "Did you?" he asked. "Yes I did." I said as I smiled internally. "Do you still believe in love?" he asked as I raised my eyebrow. I sat there for a min before honestly answering the question. "Honestly speaking, not really. Love abandoned me when I needed it the most. Forgot about how I felt when I didn't have it. When I thought I did have it, it quickly showed me I didn't." I said as I sighed. "I deserve that." he said. "Can I make you believe again?" he said now coming in between my legs. I just stared at him. I really love this man and everything about him makes my heart smile. From the way his eyes sitting low to they way he's just looking at me. "Rob." he said as I stared at him. I couldn't hold it in anymore, I pulled him towards me as I kissed him. 

  I swear this made me the happiest I've ever been. It made me even more happier when he wrapped his arms around me. After about a few minutes, he broke the kiss. "You still didn't answer the question baby." he said smiling. "Yes." I said as I smiled at him. He smiled back a he kissed me and picked me up. "Wait my car." I said as he held me. "Gimme your keys." he said as I did just that. "Watch your head." he said as  he opened my door and turned the car off. He carried us back into the house as he started kissing me.
