Chapter 21

A week. A long, horrible and depressing week. This is the amount of time that had passed since Maul had attacked and...since Ezra's death. The crew each grieved in many different ways: Sabine stayed either in her room or their private common room, crying and drawing moment that she had enjoyed little brother. Zeb kept himself busy within the training room most of the time, normally beating the crap out of the punching bags - he imagined it was Maul, the reason his little brother was no longer with them; he'd be in his room when he couldn't be found.

Hera tried her best to stay strong for her remaining family but it was no use; she checked on everyone every one in a while, making sure that they sat something and kept themselves healthy. But when she wasn't doing any of those things, the woman would be sobbing over the death of her baby boy - either hidden away in her shared room or sat at the table in the common room. The Jedi Master's had to continue doing their jobs but they were each silently grieving, taking moments to cry when alone at night - they had all become close with the young boy, having moments with him that would always remain within their minds and hearts.

And Kanan....poor Kanan was taking the death worse then anyone else. He had locked himself within his Padawan's room, lying on his sons bed as he cried into one of the teens shirts - that's all he ever did, only ever leaving the bed for the toilet which was in the bathroom attached to the room. Hera brought him food during meal times but he never ate much - he just always felt sick but tried to calm his girlfriend who insisted he eat at least some of the food.

The Master's all tried to check on the crew but only were saw Hera who told them as much as she could; Depa had managed to see her once Padawan and tried to comfort him but it was difficult. She knew the pain of losing a Padawan but it was more than clear that Kanan saw Ezra as much more then that. The day of the attack, some clone troopers had been ordered the move Ezra's body; they had lay him down in a spare chilled room - no one was ready to bury the boy. For force sake!! They weren't even ready to accept that he was gone and to say goodbye.

Somewhere no mortal person can go......

(Author's note: If you have watched the movie 'God's of Egypt' then you will understand what I'm talking about).

Ezra felt himself walk up...but how was that possible?? he had just fallen to his death!! Opening his eyes, the boy looked around at his surroundings to find that he we in the middle of a never ending dessert. Standing up, Ezra wondered where in the force he was when all of a sudden, a golden winged armored bird man could be seen flying in his direction, soon landing only a few feet away from the teen.

With wide eyes, the Padawan watched as the creature transformed into a human man.....a large human man; whoever it was sent Ezra a gentle smile as he walked towards him "hello Ezra Bridger" he greeted. This startled the teenager who took a wary step back "how do you know my name?! Who are you?!" he asked - he felt as if he should be worried and alarmed...but he wasn't; it was as if his instincts were telling him that the giant person was kind and safe to be around.

"Do not be alarmed young one" the man reassured "my name is Horus and I am the God of air" he introduced, confusing Ezra further by the word "God". Ezra, thanks to his mother teaching him at a young age before being taken and killed, knew of many different gods - one that he remembered was named Horus and he was the God of air. The man in front of him couldn't have been that God....could he?? Stranger things have happened he guessed.

"Okay...where are we?? What's going on??" the young boy asked as the two began to walk in a random direction; Horus continued to smile as he began to explain "you, Ezra, have the courage, bravery and heart of a God" he stated, making the teens cheeks turn a light shade of pink "you gave your life to save two young children....you knew you would die from that fall but you jumped anyway". The teen nodded as the God added "and yet....you weren't afraid" he sounded confused but amazed; Ezra spoke up "it's what we do, my family and I" he explained "we save people who can't save themselves, we know the risks but...we do it anyway".

Horus couldn't help but smile once again as he patted the supposedly dead boy on the shoulder "that, my friend, is why I am giving you a gift" he stated "the universe needs you Ezra Bridger, it wasn't your time....not yet" the God waved his....his glowing hand in front of Ezra's face. The next thing he knew, Ezra felt himself....slip away?? It was as if he was fading "thank you Horus" was all he could say before drifting away; the man smiled "no my friend...thank you" he spoke in a voice full of emotion "thank you for giving the universe and everyone in it hope".

Once again, Ezra felt himself wake up; he would feel something light was covering his body from head to toe. A blanket or cover maybe?? He removed the silk blanket as he sat up - oh my force, was his achy body stiff!! Moving his head around, Ezra looked at his surroundings to see he was in a small room, a little lamp set on the bed side table was his only source of light; it seemed to just be another spare bedro- wait a second.....he could see?! Ezra could see!! Not through the force but....for real!! And he was alive!!

Jumping up and off of the bed, Ezra stretched his cracking body and regained his balance; he needed to see his family and tell them that he was alright, that he was alive....oh my force, he was alive. The teenager exited the room and made his way through the temple and soon noticed Ahsoka; her head was lowered as if she was sad, as well as she had her arms wrapped around her slim frame - she was grieving of course.

"Ahsoka!!" the young boy called out; he watched as the girls head shot up with wide eyes - she ran over and embraced her missed friend "Ezra!! I...I thought you were dead!! We all watched you fall!!". They held onto one another for a moment before parting "I was but....it's really complicated and confusing to be honest" it was then that Ahsoka noticed the fellow Padawan's eyes "you...you're not blind anymore!?" that earned him a nod.

Ezra began to speak, explaining that he needed his friends help to surprise everyone "can you gather them all in the council room??" he asked; the girl nodded before running to the Ghost crews private quarters. Ahsoka found Hera sat at the table in the common room and told her that the Jedi Council wanted to see her and her friends within five minutes; the woman nodded before going to gather Sabine, Zeb and Kanan - it was a difficult task as none of them wanted to leave but they didn't want to disobey the Masters either.

They had been more than kind, accepting and understanding. Somehow, Ezra had managed to sneak into the private room and hid behind one of the pillars; how none of the high masters had noticed or sensed him?? Ezra will never understand. Soon after, the crew and Ahsoka entered the room "you wished to see us Masters??" Sabine asked earning many confused looks and raised brows; Master Kenobi spoke, stating that they didn't. They were all extremely confused and turned to the only smiling person in the room - Ahsoka. "Snips" Anakin spoke in a voice that he would normally use when Luke or Leia had done something naughty "what's this about??" the young girl stayed silent. This was when Ezra decided to reveal himself "thought you'd all want to see me".
