Chapter 34

Anna's POV: November 15 (Tuesday)

I was enjoying the walk to my dorm when my phone rang. Hans. I quickly answered. "Hello?"

"Hey, Anna." I grinned at the sound of his voice. He just seemed like a great guy, warning me about Kristoff and everything.

"Hey, Hans. What's up?" I stopped and juggled with my books to unlock the door while still listening.

"I was wondering if maybe you'd like to...eat dinner with me?" I froze.

Did he just, ask me out?

"Sure," I smiled brightly. "I'd love to." I could hear him let out a breath on the other side. "Okay, I'll uh, pick you up at six. Bye."

I immediately threw my stuff down and darted to Elsa's dorm. She's gonna be so excited.

Elsa's POV

I opened my door to an enthusiastic Anna. "Oh my gosh, Elsa, you're never gonna believe what happened!"

I looked at her inquisitively and motioned her to continue.

"Hans asked me to eat dinner with him!" She squealed. "I'm sorry," I apologized. "I'm confused. I thought you were dating Kristoff."

She scowled. "That sleezebag? Please. Not after what he did."

"What did he do?" I asked protectively.
"Well, I found out that he was just using me."

I tilted my head a little and asked, "How?"

"Hans let me know," she explained. "Anyways, I need something to wear. What should I wear?" She rambled.

"Anna," I started. "I don't want you to go on that date." She stopped talking and stared at me. "Why not?"

"Hans isn't who you think he is, he's a bad guy," I warned.

"No he's not," she scoffed. "He's the sweetest guy I've ever met!"

I took a deep breath. "Anna, no is no, you're not to go on that date. Please, listen," I begged, reaching for her arm. "Please don't go."

She glared at me furiously, her eyes burning into mine. "Watch me," she spat. She turned on her heels and stormed out of the room.

I looked up to see Merida standing in the doorway, mouth wide open.

She quietly walked into the bathroom and shut the door to give me some privacy, which I was grateful for.

I hoped desperately that Anna would be okay.

Anna's POV

I wiped off my tears and put a smile on my face. Elsa wasn't going to ruin my date with Hans. I wouldn't let her.

I peered at my reflection one last time before I heard a knock. I grinned at Cindy and Aurora as they wished me luck.

I opened the door to see Hans, dressed handsomely, as always.

"You look beautiful," he complimented and I smiled. I let him lead me away, completely forgetting Elsa's warnings.

"So, you have how many brothers?" I asked as we walked from the restaurant.

"Twelve older brothers," he sighed. "Three of them pretended I was invisible, literally, for two years."

I frowned. "That's horrible." "It's what brothers do," he shrugged.

We were silent as we started to walk across the street. "So," I tried to start conversation again, but Hans yelled, "Anna! Look out!"

I watched him step back and I looked up. I froze as I saw two bright lights and heard a loud horn.

And then, it was dark.

Kristoff's POV

I had my hands stuffed in my pockets as I wandered around the city. What could I say? I missed Anna and I felt depressed.

Nothing I did could really get my mind off of her. I saw her cheery self in everything.

I saw her smile when I ate my morning pancakes, her laugh when I listened to a joke, and I heard her yawn when I went to bed.

So here I was, just walking around. Imagining her skipping form next to me.

I looked up at the sound of screeching tires and a blood curdling scream. Anna's scream.

My eyes widened as I watched a car collide with her body.

"Anna!" I yelled and ran to her. I knelt down beside her and cradled her in my arms. She wasn't moving.

I looked up at the woman who'd gotten out of her car. "Oh my God," she covered her mouth. "I'm so sorry, I didn't see her. Should I call 911?"

I looked at her angrily. "Forget it, I've got it."

She shakily nodded and continued to stand there, tears forming in her eyes.

"Is she okay?" I finally noticed Hans, standing safely off to the side. "Does it look like she's okay?" I screamed, pointing at Anna who was bleeding.

"What should I do?" He asked, although I could tell he didn't really want to help. "Nothing." I glared.

I picked her up and started to run to the hospital.

I could hear Hans shouting at me, saying I was crazy and I'd never make it. I shut him out and turned to the girl I love.

My legs ached, and my lungs burned, but I kept going as I glanced at Anna's bloody form.

"It's gonna be okay, Anna," I whispered and kissed her forehead. "It's gonna be okay."
