Chapter 40

•Tadashi's POV•

If I was going to show everyone the way Jack really is, I needed him angry. And I knew just how to get him that way.

"Hey! Give it back!" Jack yelled after me as I sprinted down the hall, his staff in my hands.

Without it, he was forced to run instead of fly, although I had to admit he was pretty fast. But not fast enough.

I darted through the hallway, past students on my way to the cafeteria. By the time I got there, he would be angry, just as planned. Although I wasn't sure how angry.

As I ran into the lunch room, everyone turned to look at me as Jack's yells were heard. "Tadashi Hamada! You give it back!" He growled at me, holding out his hand expectantly. Ha. As if.

"You'll have to come and get it," I challenged.

He balled up his fists in rage and I did the same as we glared at each other. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw everyone gathering around us in a large circle and abandoning their tables. "Fight! Fight! Fight!" They chanted.

Jack and I both charged at each other, anger apparent on our faces.

"Give it back," he growled. "Never. Not until you promise not to go anywhere near Elsa," I shot back, punching him in the stomach.

"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard," he wheezed, catching his breath and hitting me on the side of my head. "There's no way I'm staying away from her."

"Then there's no way I'm giving your staff back," I smirked, regaining my composure and kicking him down.

I yelped in surprise as he kicked my legs out from under my body, knocking the wind out of me.

"You're no getting it back, Frost. Not until you promise," I jumped on top of him. "I thought you told me I shouldn't give out promises I can't keep," he smirked, flipping us over and pinning me down.

"She's mine," I hissed. "Leave her alone."

"I don't think so," he chuckled, landing a hit square on the center of my face. I could feel the blood trickling down from my nose and I groaned out in pain. "You little piece of crap!" I did the only thing I knew would make him get off of me.

I kicked him where it hurts. Hard.

His face contorted in pain and I heard sounds of sympathy around the room. Mostly from guys. A lot of the girls just covered their mouths in shock.

"You better run, Hamada," he gasped for air. "As soon as I can get up, I'm gonna find you, and I'm gonna freeze your sorry a-"

"Hold it right there." Uh oh.

•Jack's POV•

Oh, dear Lord the pain. I grunted, shifting in my chair while carefully holding an ice pack over the front of my pants.

Of all the places, why did he have to kick me there?

I glared at him and he glared back. "Why did you even take my staff? I didn't take anything of yours."

"But you're trying to," he replied. "What? What am I possibly taking from you? I didn't go into your room and steal your shoes or your phone."

"Elsa." I sighed, rolling my eyes at him. "I can't take her from you. She doesn't belong to you in the first place. Just because she's your girlfriend, that doesn't mean you own her."

"I didn't say that. I know I don't own her, but you're taking her from me. You're trying to make her your girlfriend," he huffed. "I don't even see why I'm worried about this. What could she possibly like about you?"

"You know what, Hamada? One of these days, I'm gonna-"

I stopped as the door to the office opened and five people stepped in. "Good morning, boys," a short woman, though tall compared to her colleagues, with blue hair and a bright smile greeted us. "We're your counselors. I'm Joy."

"What happened?" The shortest of them, a stout guy with red skin and an ever-present frown, asked.

We both started yelling, stating our different point of views and leered at each other the whole time. "Woah. Slow down. Nothing makes me angrier than kids with no respect," he growled. "And you do not want to see me angry."

"Calm down, Anger," Joy patted his shoulder. "Tadashi, why don't you go first?"

I huffed in annoyance and rolled my eyes as he thanked her and started his version of the story.

"It all started with my girlfriend, Elsa. Jack is her best friend, and he likes her, too. And even though we're already dating, he still tries to be with her. So I took his staff, and I tried to get him to promise he'd leave Elsa alone. And then we started fighting. Of course I had every intention of giving it back."

I furrowed my brows. He was not going to give it back. He's making me look like the bad guy.

"Okay, Jack, your turn."

"Yes, I like his girlfriend, but all is fair in love and war. I love her more than anything and he just wants to keep her away from me!" I exclaimed.

"I was in my room, about to go to lunch, when suddenly, he runs in, grabs my staff, and runs off with it. So, of course I run after him until we're in the cafeteria. Then we start fighting over the staff, and when I tell him to give it back, he says he won't unless I promise to stay away from Elsa."

"So, did you promise?" A short and chubby woman that was completely blue asked in a meek voice.

"No," I scoffed. "I'm not going to stay away from the love of my life."

"The love of your life?" Tadashi laughed, raising an eyebrow at me. "If she was the love of your life, why is she dating me?"

"Alright. Settle down," Joy said as I scowled at Tadashi.

"Sadness and I have to go to a counselor's meeting, but Anger, Disgust, and Fear will stay with you. Be good."

After they walked out, the girl decked out in green smirked. "I know exactly how to handle this."

"I'm not really sure how this helps them solve their differences, Disgust," Fear quivered.

"Relax," she rolled her emerald eyes. "It's gonna work. Tadashi first."

"I don't like that you're a bad influence on my girlfriend. You curse and you hang around ghetto people," he said.

"Care to rebound, Jack?"

"They're not ghetto," I glared. "If you actually got to know them, you'd realize that they're not what you think. Popular doesn't always equal bad. We're popular because people like us, not because we're rude."

"Okay, Jack. Now you, like, get to say what you don't like about Tadashi."

"Okay," I smirked, popping my fingers and grinning as Tadashi cringed. "I don't like how you're such a know-it-all. You act like you know every single thing."

"No I don't!" He defended. "I can't help that I'm smart. Maybe you'd be the same way if you payed attention in class."

"I do pay attention in class," I corrected. "But unlike you, I actually have to try. You just get everything they teach you. I'm the one that actually works."

"Well, maybe if you were smarter, Elsa would go out with you instead of me." Ouch. That really hurt.

"Ooh," Anger grinned. "This is getting interesting." I watched him recline in his seat and kick his legs up onto the table.

"You are one sick ticket, Hamada," I chuckled bitterly. "I love her with all of my heart. I would give anything for her, and you have the guts to say maybe she might like me if I was smarter. If I wasn't so dumb."

Tadashi furrowed his brows and bit his lip in worry, even the guidance counselors looked concerned.

I hadn't felt the tears slipping down my cheeks until now. It was completely unmanly, but I didn't feel like holding it back anymore. I simply didn't care.

He also seemed to be confused by my sudden break down, but I would never supply him with the answer to why. There's a reason I work so hard to keep my grades up, but no one would ever know why.

I buried my face in my hands, trying to make the tears stop flowing. If anyone finds out my secret, I don't know if I'll be able to go on with the embarrassment.

•Belle's POV•

"Hello there." I looked up from my book to see Gaston leaning on the table. "Fancy seeing you here, Belle," he grinned.

"Gaston, you know I always come to the library," I sighed, getting up and starting to gather my things.

"Hey," he frowned. "Where are you going?"

"Away from here," I bluntly stated, grabbing my books and heading to the check in-and-out desk. "Oh, good. Maybe we could go down to a nice restaurant. I'm starving." I scrunched up my face as I heard his stomach growl loudly. "Um, no thank you."

I gasped as he pulled me back, causing me to drop all of my books and trailed a finger down my arm.

"Then perhaps we could...go somewhere more private." I gulped at the way he said the word. His intentions were clear and I was becoming very scared, very quickly.

"I-I don't think that's such a good idea," I stuttered out, scrambling to pick up my books.

"Oh," he smirked. "You want to do it here? You naughty girl." I mentally gagged and tensed up as he pushed me against the book case, leaning in to kiss me. Oh, God. Please don't let me lose my first kiss to this idiot.

"Hey!" Gaston snapped his head to the side and glared at a tall boy with golden brown locks. "Leave her alone."

I let out a breath of relief as I was released from the strong grip.

"How dare you interrupt me. It's none of your business, so back off," Gaston huffed. "It became my business when I saw that she didn't want you to do that," the boy said.

"She's a woman," Gaston waved it off. "It doesn't matter what she wants. Besides, all girls love me. She's not any different."

"Leave, or I'll call Principal Mickey," the boy threatened. "Fine." Gaston huffed, walking off, but not before turning around to wink at me and making a 'call me' sign.

"Thank you," I nodded towards the boy. "No need to thank me," he grunted and walked off.

Well, that was odd. He was so kind and caring when he tried to get that brute away from me. I wonder where that guy went. What happened to that version of him?

What do you think Jack's secret is?

Who do you think the guy who defended Belle was?

Any characters I haven't used that you would like to see used?
