Surprisingly, Maria didn't come over that night, so I just pigged out on my own, and I went to bed early.

I got up a little earlier for swim the next morning because I wanted to get there early to talk to Coach Pinto.

"Hey, Coach Pinto can I talk to you?" I said when I walked in.

"If this is about how I reacted yesterday, I'm sorry for scaring you but I am not sorry for saying that. You are not an exception to any rules because you are the one of the best swimmers in the state. So, I'm going to be cracking down on you a lot harder then usual before the opening meet next week and even harder when we face the cobras." she said.

I looked at her stunned, though I finally did understand. The opening meet is a big deal at our school, and the cobras meet is the biggest event in the season. It's even bigger then the homecoming game for football. Yeah, our school is weird. The cobras are our rival school across town, I hate them more then anything in the world. They have the only swimmer who can beat me in the 500, Zoey Jackson. Our times have been within one hundredths of a second with each other since I was 7 and she was 9. She has always hated me because I was younger, and she's only ever beat me once, so I know she will be out for blood at the meet.

"Ok, thank you for clarifying that Coach." I mumbled as I headed for the locker room.

I was only paying attention for half of the practice cause I really didn't feel the need for swimming, which was odd because that is always what I do when I can't focus.

When practice was over I changed faster then usual not in the mood to talk I didn't even wait for Sophie, and she didn't push me to talk.

I walked home and went to my room without a word, I don't know why I was taking this so hard but I just couldn't put it in the back of my mind.

"Lucia, it's time for dinner, will you be joining us or not." My mom asked me.

"No, I'm really not hungry, I think I'll call it an early night, but thanks." I replied

"Ok sweetie, just let me know if you need anything."
