"Alright girls, one more set and then we will be do for the day." Coach pinto said after 3 hours of a practice that could even kill me.

" Three 500s stop at the 300, rest for 10 seconds and sprint the last 200, first one on 7 minutes, next two decreasing by 20 seconds."

Even I️ wanted to die after hearing that set.

The 500 felt great, just like it always does when I do a distance set. I didn't even stop at the 300 mark, which I knew I would get in trouble for later but, I just couldn't stop now. my pace was perforce and not one breath was out of place.

" Lucia Ann Daleo, you are no exception to the rules of this set! next time do it the right or you can forget about swimming 500 at the meet next week!" That was the first thing Coach Pinto said to me when I got to the wall. I knew something would happen when I didn't stop, but she never freaked out on me like that.

"Ok, it won't happen again." I said clearly though it came out as a mumble.

I finished my last two 500s and hurried out to the locker rooms, with Sophie right behind me. She, being my best friend, feels my pain just as much as I do.

"Well that was not what I expected. She never freaks out like that, I wonder if something's wrong." she said.

We were changing in silence until there was a familiar call behind us.

"Hello beautiful ladies!!! Guess who came to see to let you see my beautiful self!!!!!!" The voice called

"Maria!" Sophie and I said in unison while running to our other best friend. she'd been gone for the past month in Italy because she's crazy rich and hates it here.

We knocked her to the hard white tile floor and smothered her with hugs. Maria is like the glue that keeps our friendship together. She never picks sides in a fight, she's always fair, and she brings us food, which is my favorite part about her. She's like a mother sort of.

We finished changing lightning fast and hurried out the door to see her sitting on the hood of Sophie's car, per usual.

"So what is up my beautiful girls?" she asked as Sophie started the car. Maria is a Sophomore and can't drive either, Sophie's a Junior so she has been our personal driver since she got her licenses last year.

"Nothing really, Lu got yelled at by Pinto cause she didn't stop at her 300 mark."

"You know I don't understand your
Swimming terms" Maria said with a confuses yet amused look on her face.

We pulled up to my house and I have one last hug to Maria, knowing that she would be at my house once she had unpacked. Her parents were really never home because they are always working, so she grew up at my house most of the time. Our moms are best friends so it makes sense.

I walked in and was almost knocked over by my mom rushing around my brothers.

"Hi sweetie! Sorry, your father and I have to leave, we forgot that your brothers had some thing at school tonight. Dinners in the oven, I made enough for like, 4 or 5 people cause I heard Maria's back. Love you! See you later!" she kissed my cheek and was off.

Well I guess it was just me tonight, until I get bombard with the people who eat all my food that I call friends.
