"How could a demon be so cruel?!" Gidget exclaimed. She was over at the apartment where Pops lived. Everyone had gone over to see how the elderly basset hound was doing only to find the place empty. They finally found him impaled on a pointy spear at the bottom of the staircase. His body had long lost the warmth of life.

"I don't know but this needs to stop before someone else gets themselves killed," Max murmured, nuzzling his girlfriend. They watched as Chloe lay beside the dead body, tears streaming down in rivers on her face. Mel and Buddy were standing on either side of the gray tabby cat, who was upset that Pops had met such a gruesome end. And the last thing he did for her was accompany her down the apartment building so she wouldn't be scared.

"Good news guys," Snowball declared, hopping into the room with Ozone and Tattoo on his tail. His eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep. The rest of the gang lifted their heads except for Chloe. Allowing the tabby to continue mourning, the white rabbit informed the group, "Tattoo, Ozone and I are going to the library to see if we can figure out how to stop this. In the meantime, you guys can head on over to Central Park. Do something to keep yourselves awake. We'll give you a call if we find anything."

Turning to leave, Ozone called over his shoulder, "And give us a call if anything happens."
