"Snowball was right, we did need this," Duke remarked as he splashed around in the water. Max and Gidget yelped when they got drenched. Mel and Buddy played in the shallows. Chloe watched them from a safe distance. Her nightmare from a few days ago still haunted her. Shuddering, she went back to washing her ears.

Chloe wasn't the only one who wasn't playing around in the water. Tiberius was resting on the shore, keeping a close eye on Norman as the young guinea pig played around in the shallow water with Mel and Buddy. The old hawk was not about to let some stupid demon wolf kill his little friend. He promised himself that he would not let Norman out of his sight for one second.

"Buddy, I'm getting tired..." Mel mumbled sleepily as he clambered up onto the shore. Following his friend, Buddy murmured, "I know. I had to stay up to make sure you didn't fall asleep. But we have no choice. You saw him in your dream. You can't fall asleep." Whining, Mel laid down on the grass, allowing the hot sun to dry his wet fur off. His eyes were getting droopy. He thought for sure that he was going to drift off when he saw a butterfly. Gasping with delight, he chased after it, crying, "BUTTERFLY!"

"MEL!" Buddy shouted, jumping to his feet. He had closed his eyes for a few seconds only to have his friend chase after a butterfly. However, he couldn't see one. Huffing, he went after his friend just as Max and Gidget got out of the water, followed by Duke and Norman. "Where are they going?" Duke asked, shaking his fur.

"Mel saw a butterfly I guess," Chloe grumbled, getting soaked from Duke's shaking. Licking her paw, she muttered, "But I didn't see a butterfly."
