"Here it is," Tiberius declared. Norman gazed down at the small hole that the old hawk had wanted to show him. "What is it?" he asked quietly. Nuzzling the guinea pig, the hawk answered, "This is the home of the rattlesnake, one of America's most poisonous snakes." Amazed, Norman remembered his dream. But he didn't dare bring it up to his friend in case it made him mad again.
Nudging Norman forward, Tiberius whispered, "Why don't you go see if there's one down there?" Nodding his head quietly, the guinea pig was just about to do that. But then he stopped in his tracks and slowly looked up at the old hawk. Whenever they went exploring, Tiberius would check to see if it was safe before allowing him. It was then that Norman saw a flash of red in the hawk's eyes. Frightened, he mumbled, "I... I should head back..."
"Why? I thought you wanted to hangout," Tiberius spoke, his voice rasping a little. Heart pounding in his small chest, Norman whispered, "You're not Tiberius." Growling, the imposter lunged forward just as the real Tiberius came out of nowhere to tackle him. The two hawks rolled over the dusty earth until there was only one hawk left. Tiberius's eyes widened with fear when he saw that he was now wrestling with a rattlesnake. Hissing, the reptile went for the throat. However, it never touched the hawk...
