Truth and fear are two things that many have the luxury of withholding, but even so, selfishness turns that truthfulness and fear into lies. I was born into secrecy, not because my father was not faithful to my mother nor her to him, but because I am a legacy. The first few moments of my birth were a blur to my mother and father, they cannot recall a single memory of it. That is because their memories were erased to keep them from the truth. For my protection and theirs. The Greybeards knew of my coming before my parents even considered having a second child. When my mother got pregnant, the Blades, a society that protects the Dragonborn, started to watch our family from afar. When she finally gave birth, my father was knocked out and I was taken from my mothers womb. The Greybeards came to Cyrodiil to cast several protection, knowledge, and precognition spells on me. I was then returned to my parents and their memories of those few moments were erased. It always flustered them when asked about my birth, and because they are of noble decent, they lied in order to boast their superiority. They could've told the truth and shown their fear, but they didn't because they are the epitome of deception. I did not have the luxury of telling the truth nor feeling fear. My parents believed that they were the only ones teaching me as I grew up, but after the days fell and the nights arose, the Greybeards came to me in my dreams and taught me everything I know today. They once told me that the only thing that people should reasonable fear, is the fearless. A dragon is the exact definition of exactly that, but so is the Dragonborn.

Two days had passed since Vestele's parents had boldly proclaimed that Venessie was the Dragonborn. Although Venessie, as well as their parents, were overjoyed, Vestele was in a mental rut as to how they believed being the Dragonborn was all about wealth and an easy life. They were all so ignorant that it made Vestele wonder how she was brought up in such a family.

"Hey there Ms. Loceath!" The city farmer shouted from afar at Vestele as she passed his house. She smiled slightly and dipped her head to show respect. She continued to walk past his house until the open prairie that separated Leyawiin from the forest came into view. The watchtower in the middle stood tall as the Leyawiin flag blew as the wind picked up.

"Vestele!" A voice she was quite familiar with called out to her. She closed her eyes and sighed, not bothering to look around for the person the voice belonged to.

"Please listen to me, I am risking being exposed to talk to you right now." The voice said once again.

"Aidan, you are invisible. To whom do you believe you will be exposed? The gods themselves?" Vestele asked with a hint of sarcasm. Aidan sighed and grabbed ahold of her arm and tried to pull her away from the prairie. Vestele furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and tried to pull back.

"What on earth do you think you're d-" She tried to finish her sentence, but a bellow as loud as a waterfall beside ones ear rang out from the other side of the prairie. Aidan, upon hearing the noise, pulled at Vestele's arm harder.

"We must go right now! If you stay any longer, you could be in extreme danger!" Aidan exclaimed. Vestele scoffed and ripped her arm out of his firm grasp.

"And the townspeople would not? Think about their safety before mine, that is an order." Vestele said with extreme supremacy. Aidan bit his lip and made himself visible, his tall frame leaving Vestele's line of vision as guards started pouring out of the guardhouse to see what the noise was. As if Vestele could feel her own presence elsewhere, she looked up to the clouds. Silence was present for only a moment, and that silence was soon gone when a beast she knew all too well swooped down and breathed an immense fire on the watch tower.

"DRAGON!" A guard shouted out. The town was forthwith panic, and the guards unsheathed their swords as they ran towards the dragon. Vestele felt as if a powerful force was flowing through her veins. She could tell from the dragon's oval shaped tail and green scales that it was a blood dragon.

"First dragon I encounter is a blood dragon? Interesting." Vestele mumbled to herself as she slowly walked towards the prairie, her destination already made set for the watchtower where the dragon was snapping and whipping its tail at the guards. A stray guard that was running towards the prairie to help grabbed ahold of Vestele's arm and pulled her back.

"If one more person does this to me, I swear I'm going to send them into Oblivion." She said to herself before once again, ripping her arm out of the guards grasp.

"Young woman, do you not see the dragons have returned? Are you not scared?" The guard asked. Vestele chuckled to herself and looked into the guards eyes.

"No, now go." She said as she pushed him forward. He stumbled a bit but then made his way to the dragon. Vestele watched the battle as she got closer, her blood getting warmer as she nears.

The dragon, whose attention was previously on the guards, turned to look at Vestele immediately. It stopped, allowing the guards to take hit after hit on it. It then suddenly used its wings to elevate into the air, flying in the air a few times before landing right in front of Vestele. She had her hands behind her back, and did not make any effort to move. The guards behind the dragon were screaming at her to move, but she knew better than that.

"Dohvakiin." The dragon breathed out as its eyes turned yellow. Vestele stared back with the same colored eyes, and spoke to the dragon calmly.

"Hi Mindok Zu'u Fen Krii Hi." She said, her voice strong and confident. Her words translated to, "You know I must kill you." The dragon's eyes tinted before trying to take a snap at Vestele with its beak. She leaped back, watching the dragon try to get closer. She breathed in and prepared to use her Thu'um to end the dragon once and for all.

"YOL TOOR SHUL!" Vestele shouted, a blast of fire coming out of her mouth. The dragon was fortunately already damaged so she didn't need to use a powerful shout to kill it. The guards finally caught up with her and stared at her in shock.

"I can't believe it...you are...Dragonborn." The guard that tried to warn her before said out loud. Before anyone else could say anything, Vestele's parents, along with Venessie, came running out.

"Vestele! What on earth are you doing out here? There was a dragon, you could've been killed." Larissa said with anger as she ran up to her. Vestele shook her head and stepped closer to the dragon.

"Get away from that thing Vestele!" Eryden yelled. Vestele turned around to face her family and spoke words they never thought they would hear from her.

"Venessie is not the Dragonborn." Vestele said. Venessie, as well as their parents, started yelling at her all at once. Vestele spoke no more, and instead spread her arms wide. A bright wind came out of the dragon's body, which was slowly turning to bone, and entered Vestele's body instead. It was indeed the soul of the dragon, and she was proved to be indeed, Dragonborn.
