Chapter Eighteen

We are unity

- Where are you? -

Taehyung's POV

A terrifying scream left the giant's mouth, magic bursting from my body, flying in all directions. A good portion of my magic seemed to strike right in the center of the giant, which I could only assume was where his heart lies. "Too... much... power!" It is the last thing I could make out before the enemy exploded.

Quite literally, actually.

Any trace of its existence was long gone, swirls of darkness floating through the air as I slowly lowered myself onto the ground, my ice melting and water evaporating. I took a few deep breaths, letting my body fall to the ground, knees hitting the rock hard cement.

"Holy fuck," I whispered, wiping away a bead of sweat that rolled down the right side of my face. I shook my head, strands of hair flying forward and attempting to cover my eyes. I brushed it aside, pushing myself off the ground, taking a good look around the torn down city.

"Keep moving, Taehyung," I whispered to myself, lightly stepping onto the ground, my ice forming a long strip on top of the road, allowing me to skate easily. I was racing down the city roads quicker than before, passing abandoned and worn down buildings, one after another after another.

"Where are you, Jungkook?" I glanced up at the sky, watching the clouds shift over the sun, blocking out the light. For some reason, the city grew insanely dark, my eyes beginning to adjust to the new surroundings. I needed to find Jungkook and the others, and fast.

I was running around for ten minutes, my lungs burning from the lack of oxygen I was taking in. I stopped, glancing up at the sky again. It was pitch black now, darkness flooding the city. Could the rest of my friends see as clearly as I could through the dark? Would they be able to make it out with this dark cover flooding the city?

I glanced up, a building stood beside me, at least six stories high, a few holes in the walls, and a terrible creaking noise heard from around me. I frowned, could a vantage point help me, especially with this darkness? I didn't have time to battle with my mind, the time was running out.

I let my wings form again, my body launching from the ground and heading upwards, the wind blowing through my hair. I hovered over the top of the building, taking a look around the city. "I need to go higher," I whispered, mentally cursing as I flew to a higher building.

"Whatever you do, Taehyung, don't touch the clouds," I spoke to myself, flying upwards and towards another building. When I landed, I let my feet touch the building, carefully walking around on the very top of the building. From this height, I could see most of the city.

It's a maze.

"Shit," I cursed, studying the maze before me. There were several dead ends, only what looked like two ways leading right towards the center of the city. I frowned, my eyes shifting to the center, that giant hole placed in the ground. Was that the way out, or what we were running from?

"Come in all Elementals!" An automated voice said from above us, the building beginning to rumble from the vibration. "Due to some minor issues, your time has been changed from one hour to two." My eyes widened, my eyes shifting to the sky above.

"You have an hour and a half left to complete your training. Best of luck, Elementals!" Then, just like that, the voice was gone and the only sounds left were the rumbling of the buildings that were nearly falling apart. I cursed again, scanning the city once more.

Was it only getting darker?

"I don't have time to just sit here!" I screamed, knowing there was probably nobody who could hear me. "I need to find my friends!" With one last look, I jumped off the building, letting my wings take me above the buildings. Was this cheating? I was flying above the buildings, but it's apart of my magic.

"Come on, Jungkook, I need you..." I whispered, pushing myself to fly faster. I was flying at insane speeds, scanning over the entire city. I checked the way into the maze, nothing striking me as a way out. I cursed aloud, flying back to the center.

Except now, there was a portal inside the hole. Had that always been there? I looked around, hovering over the hole beneath me, my wings fluttering to keep me in the air. I took a deep breath, letting my three magics circle me, forming a protective barrier around me.

Then I fell.

I fell right into the portal, feeling my being slowly disappear from where it was and end up somewhere else. I was falling from the sky, my wings gone, my magic continuing to swirl around me. I did my best to look at what was below me, my eyes finding another city, identical to the one I was in except colored differently.

There were buildings falling over, streets opening as earthquakes shook the entire city. Yet what caught my eye the most was the orange glow that covered the city and the heat that rose up and hit the sky. I smiled, wider than I ever have, my wings forming again.

I fell faster, spinning in the air, my eyes landing on the person I've been trying to find. He was busy fighting off creatures similar to the ones I killed, fire dancing around his body, his palms outstretched. There had to be at least thirty of them around him, trapping him from the rest of the city.

As I neared the ground, I readied myself to fly, my palms outstretching as I shot water onto his flames. Smoke covered the area, blinding all of us, the creatures and Jungkook and I. As I reached the ground, I let myself fly a few feet above the ground, my arms opening and grabbing onto my boyfriend.

Then I flew upwards, holding him close to me. His chest was pressed against mine, his arms wrapping around me, face in the crook of my neck. "You found me," He whispered, relief heard in his voice. I hummed, holding him tighter.

"I'll always find you, cupcake." We got out of the smoke, my wings taking me above the city, creatures screaming and shouting from the ground. I found a building that wasn't about to topple over, my feet landing on the top of it, Jungkook still in my arms. I carefully set him down, cupping his cheeks with my hands.

"Are you okay?" He nodded, his hands gripping my shirt. I didn't have time to register anything before I was pulled into him, our lips crashing together in a heated yet loving kiss. His arms were around my neck, fingers entangling in my hair. My heart was racing, my eyes shutting.

I didn't know what I was doing but judging by the way Jungkook was keeping still for a bit, he didn't know either. I attempted to move my lips, doing my best to make our first kiss as a couple worth remembering. I didn't know how to kiss, I've never actually done it before, but I tried for him.

He moved his lips with mine, the two of us forming a dance, a foreign dance that we didn't know the steps to. My hand continued to cup his cheek, my other one pressing him against me, holding his waist. My lungs began to burn, my mind swirling, a wave of dizziness hitting me.

It was when we finally pulled away from that I looked into his eyes, a sudden rush of desire and happiness filling every vein. And judging by the look in his eye, he felt it too. "I've never done that before," He whispered, pressing his forehead to mine, a smile placing itself on my face.

"Neither have I," I admitted, stifling a laugh, my arms wrapping around his waist as I pulled him even closer to me. "But I want to do it again." I crashed my lips against his, his arms returning to my neck. We kissed, this time with more passion and a little faster. I still had no idea what I was doing, but I didn't care.

I was kissing him. I was kissing Jungkook.

When we pulled away again, sparks flew throughout my body, a rush of heat engulfing me. I felt alive, I felt adrenaline course through me. It was a simple kiss, but fuck, it felt like so much more than that. He giggled, pressing his forehead to mine, fingers entangling in my hair.

"As much as I want to keep kissing you, cupcake, we need to get moving. We have monsters to get rid of." He nodded, taking a deep breath and letting his lips ghost over mine. I laughed a bit, finally finding the strength within me to pull away.

"I need to show you something." He nodded, looking at me. I turned him around, pressing his back to my chest and wrapping my arms around his body. "I got you, don't be scared." Then, I took off, flying off the building and holding him in my arms. I flew over to the middle of the city, finding the exact same hole there.

This time, however, with no portal.

I hummed, setting the two of us down on a building and pointing to the hole. "See that?" He nodded, sitting down on the building, staring at the hole below us. "That's the way out. In order for the portal to form, we need to wipe out the monsters, all of them." His eyes met mine, his head moving up and down in a nod.

"Okay, how do we do that?" I smirked, my fingers turning to ice, my hand coating itself in water and darkness swirling around me. "We do what we're made to do, Jungkook," I spoke, extending my hand, allowing him to take it. And he did.

"We work as a team."

He smiled, his eyes turning orange, fire igniting in them. Flames circled his body, dancing around and engulfing his feet and legs, magma covering his arms. He nodded, the fire growing from around his body. "Tell me what to do." I smirked wider, slamming my palm down on the edge of the building, a slide forming.

"I'll go first, we'll slide down this ice until we hit the bottom. After that, we take out the monsters together. Back to back, we can't leave an opening." He nodded, eyes focused on me, I extend my hand again, feeling him grab it, squeezing it tightly. "We can do this, as a team." He smiled this time, nodding in agreement.

"The ice will melt after you slide down, be aware of that. I'll meet you at the bottom!" Then I sat down on the ice, letting myself slide down, my hair flying with the wind from my speed. I reached the ground, Jungkook right behind me, the two of us spotting the monsters.

"They completely doubled," I heard him say, my back pressing to his, my eyes scanning over the creatures. They were similar to the ones I fought, yet they had more of an animal look than anything. "The number doesn't matter, we work together to get rid of them, okay?"

"Okay. Let's take these fuckers down." I stifled a laugh, smirking as I saw them rush at me. I let water shoot from my palms, waves forming around Jungkook and I and launching right at them. Mixtures of cold and boiling water were shot at the creatures, spikes of ice flying right through their chests.

Jungkook shot lava at the creatures, fire burning the area around us. They were dying quicker than we expected, the numbers dropping fast. We killed off the last ones, my chest heaving up and down, my eyes scanning over the city, "We did-" I stopped him, grabbing his hand and letting the water hit the fire on the ground, creating more smoke.

"Not yet, we still need to defeat the one who will open the portal for us," I whispered, the smoke doubling around us. My darkness protected the two of us, blocking out the smoke from our faces, allowing us to breathe normally. I met Jungkook's eyes, stomping heard from near us.

"Do you trust me?" He nodded, squeezing my hand, intertwining our fingers together. "I trust you." I nodded, more stomping heard, a grunt echoing across the area. I smiled, planting a quick kiss to his lips, my arm and hand turning to ice.

"Then trust me when I say that we can do this. We need to work together, alternate our attacks. I'll hit then you hit, that's how we'll defeat it." He nodded, the smoke beginning to disappear. The giant came into view, water dancing around half my body and ice taking place of my flesh in the other half.

"Well, well, well, it seems you've discovered how to open the portal, dual wielder." My eyes narrowed into the giant, a scowl forming on my lips. "Unfortunately for you, this is the end of the road." He laughed, his voice all rough and annoying sounding. With a squeeze of Jungkook's hand, I found myself nodding, his eyes meeting mine.

"Ready?" He nodded, the giant taking a step forward. "Ready." I smiled, realizing that the man I could call mine was more than just my boyfriend, but my best friend too. He was with me, whether he was scared or not, he had my back. I squeezed his hand in reassurance, letting my power surge through my veins, water forming around me, and fire forming around Jungkook.

We're opposites when it comes to our elemental powers, but put us together, we're unstoppable.

"On three," I whispered, the giant releasing a roar, the buildings shaking. "One," The giant narrowed his eyes on us, clenching his hands into fists. "Two," He took another step forward, the ground shaking, my eyes closing along with Jungkook's.

"I'll destroy you!"

"Three. Now, Jungkook!"

We ran forward, the two of us still holding hands, my waves of water forming a snake, like last time, and rushing right at the giant. A fire dragon shot fire from its mouth, the two of us running closer and closer to the giant. With one last look at Jungkook, I let my power double up and my mouth open to speak.

"Let's kill him!"

Part two of this simulation training is out! Taehyung managed to figure out the puzzle with the training, the hole in the center is the way out, but only if they can kill off the monsters and the giant.

Think of the giant as a boss, if you will. (:

Will they manage to kill the giant and find the rest of their friends?

I purple you 💜
