"Can you get him to calm down please?!" Felix ordered Ozone firmly as Tiberius screeched in agony. The black cat was trying to get the bullets out but the hawk wouldn't let him do his job. Every touch brought more pain. Holding his paws up, Ozone responded, "No can do. This bird hates me."

"Then why are you chained together?"

"I already told you Felix, this was Snowball's idea."

"Can you just get him to calm down long enough so I can do my job?!"

"But-"

"OZONE, NOW!"

"Okay, fine! Geez!" Ozone exclaimed, surrendering. Rolling his eyes, the hairless cat looked down at Tiberius. He shuddered when he saw how much blood there was coming forth from the hawk's wounds, turning his feathers and the tabletop crimson. Moving his gaze away from the gruesome sight, Ozone felt a twinge of guilt as he saw the pained look in the old hawk's eyes. He could also see fear in them. Taking a deep breath, Ozone quietly reached out a paw and gently stroked the feathers on the hawk's head.

Startled, Tiberius glanced up at Ozone. "It's okay, you're gonna be alright," Ozone reassured him as he continued petting him. Just then, the old hawk felt a sharp pain in his chest as Felix managed to get one of the bullets. Screeching in agony, he turned his head to look. However, Ozone stopped him. "Easy, there's nothing to worry about. You're in safe paws," he whispered. Breathing hard, Tiberius looked up at the hairless feline as he continued, "Everything's fine. The sooner you calm down, the sooner we can head home, okay?" Nodding his head quietly, Tiberius focused on a picture on the wall while Felix skillfully extracted the second bullet.

Nine Minutes Later...

"Thank you," Ozone whispered when they were all done. "No problem," Felix murmured, putting away the supplies. While the black cat did that, Ozone looked down at Tiberius, who had fallen asleep when they were wrapping his chest up with bandages. Hopping up in a chair close enough so the chain didn't bother him, the hairless cat curled up and went to sleep too.
