Chapter 52
"I guess they drowned. Thank goodness I no longer have to see his face ever again," Mason purred, thoroughly pleased with what he had done. His henchmen smiled, happy they for once were able to do something to actually make their boss happy. They usually struggled in the past with only a few signs of a smile on the ginger cat's face. But now there was a wide grin carved into it.
"When we get home tonight boys, we're gonna have a feast! And it's gonna be so big that we won't be able to do anything tomorrow morning! Heck, we won't be able to move until tomorrow night!" Mason exclaimed as he walked away. Two of his cronies followed their boss, delighted at the thought of a feast. The third, however, noticed something. Gulping, he mumbled, "Boss?"
"Yes... whatever your name is? You guys never told me your names, did you?" Mason questioned. His henchmen looked disappointed at the fact that he had not remembered their names. Biting his lip, the third cat pointed out quietly, "I think you might want to take a look at this..." He slowly handed Mason his binoculars. Taking them, the ginger cat looked through them. The other felines waited.
"I can't see a thing," Mason grumbled.
"You have them backwards," the cat informed him.
"I knew that!" Mason snapped as he corrected himself. Peering through them again, his blood boiled when he saw a certain hairless cat and a red tailed hawk flying after the ferry that had just left the dock. Snarling, he hissed, "Boys, pack your weapons. We're heading to Manhattan."
