Six Minutes Later...

"Please tell me we're almost there..." Ozone whimpered, his green eyes squeezed tightly shut. He was being held in Tiberius's talons as they flew over the water. Being afraid of heights, the hairless cat clung to the hawk's feet for dear life, praying the ride would soon be over. It didn't help his case when they occasionally dropped a little in altitude. Grimacing in pain, Tiberius mumbled, "Ozone, I honestly don't think I'm gonna make it-"

"Don't say that when we're in the air!" Ozone cried, terrified.

"It's the truth."

Opening one eye slightly, Ozone looked up at Tiberius. Though he was able to fly, it didn't look like the old hawk could last much longer. His face was twisted with immense pain and he seemed to be struggling to keep the both of them aloft. Risking a glance down, Ozone could see that they were getting closer to the ferry they had planned to ride before Mason showed up and ruined everything. Telling on how they were now dipping down, Ozone could tell that Tiberius was planning to land on the boat.

Heading for the back of the orange and white ferry, the two animals experienced a crash landing as Tiberius's injuries were too much for him. Laying on his stomach, Ozone breathed a sigh of relief that they hadn't crashed into the water. The hairless lifted his head and looked back at Staten Island as it grew smaller and smaller. "See ya Mason," he muttered, getting to his paws. Whiskers twitching, Ozone then gazed down at Tiberius.

Absolutely exhausted and going through a lot of pain, Tiberius laid on his side shaking. The old hawk was panting heavily, trying to catch his breath. The bandages wrapped around his chest were showing a red stain that grew little by little. His light brown eyes revealed how much agony he was feeling at the moment. Ozone could feel genuine regret building up inside him as he saw what the hawk had been through in a matter of hours. Silently, he padded over and laid down beside Tiberius, who was surprised by his actions.

"We'll be home before you know it and then you can get some help, I promise," Ozone reassured Tiberius quietly. And for once, he meant every word in his promise.
