Chapter 70
"What now?! Is this like a last request or something?!" Mason growled. Poking Tiberius with the barrel of the pistol, he questioned Ozone, "Am I supposed to give him a last request or something?"
"Technically, yeah," Tiberius whimpered. He shut his eyes tight when Mason snarled, "SHUT UP OR ELSE!"
"Actually, I have a last request before you kill us," Ozone replied. Daring to take two steps forward, he continued, "Mason, I believe you said you are a huge fan of sports. Is that true?"
"Indeed it is Ozone," Mason answered. The ginger cat still held the pistol up against Tiberius's head, who was trying to comprehend where Ozone was getting at with this. Meanwhile, Ozone spat out some blood in his mouth before going on to say, "And I'm trying to remember what your favorite sport was. I think it was football."
"Soccer," Mason corrected Ozone's error.
"Ozone, what are you doing?" Tiberius asked quietly. Ozone gave the hawk a look to keep his beak shut before returning back to his conversation with Mason, "Oh yeah, I hear soccer is very fun to play!"
"It is Ozone. You should've played it more often. Maybe you'll get a chance in heaven after I kill you," Mason spoke with a smile. His white teeth glistened in the late afternoon sun.
"Forgive me for saying this but... I'm actually not a huge fan of the sport."
"Oh, well then..."
"Please forgive me."
"I'm killing you anyway."
"Yeah, I know," Ozone meowed. Sighing softly, he calmly went on, "But is there a chance we could play a game before you kill us? I hear that this game is a LOT better than soccer." The hairless cat flicked his ear as he flashed a grin back at Mason. Meanwhile, Tiberius's eyes lit up when he realized where Ozone was going with this. Mason, deeply intrigued, lowered his pistol as he looked the hairless cat in the eye and asked, "What game is better than soccer?"
Smiling innocently, Ozone answered, "Sock him."
