The shambles through the forest, keeping low to the ground. Ever was slightly limping, but she bared through it. She wasn't going to stay behind.
They walked for about ten minutes through the undergrowth.
Ever came across some of her feathers on the way, which she was not happy about losing by the way.
Soon the came up on the entrance they had fled. The ground was burnt, whatever explosion that had separated the team had singed the grass.
Ever's eyes flicked around nervously, she looked for any signs of the team, of Artemis, Kaldur or Connor. But they weren't anywhere to be seen.
Ever flicked her ears up into the air, they twinges at the slightest sound, trying to hear anything.
Wally looked around as well, and stepped forward wth a concerned look. But Ever grabbed his shoulder, "Kid wait! Shh! I hear something..."
She stood perfectly still, her eyes were small and dilated. She heard something, very far away.
"It's Connor! I hear him!"
"What? Where?"
She pointed toward the entrance, she could hear Connor's voice, he was yelling various profanities very loudly, but he didn't seem to be in pain.
"We need to go," she tried to get up, winced, and grabbed her shoulder, but kept walking forward.
"Wait Ever, you can't come. You're still hurt."
Ever glared up at him, "No, Flash boy, I'm going in with you, I am not staying here while you risk your life and the team might be in danger!"
"Ev, wait-"
"I'm not finished!" She turned around, the fire of determination in her eyes, "They might be hurt, or captured, Artemis and Robin were blown away from me, she was hurt Wally! I don't know what happens to them so I'm not staying here!"
She gritted her teeth and brought her hands to her face, wiping away tears that were beginning to form and burned her face. She felt Wally's hand on her shoulder.
"Okay. Okay fine," his eyes were soft, and they sparkles like emeralds, he was just as concerned as she was, "I just don't want you to get hurt any more."
She looked up, her eyes still hard and red. But she smirked. "Now let's get in there and save the team."
He smiled back, then looked back to the entrance.
"We have to plan outlets attack, can you still hear Superboy?"
She nodded, he was still yelling, it sounded closer, but she still couldn't figure out what he was saying.
"So he's captured...that...probably means that Kaldur is captured too, Connor was trying to help him out, they were together when he were separated. I don't know about M'gann, I didn't see her."
"I didn't see her either, and Robin and Artemis were close to me, I could've helped them. They might be in there too, but I can't hear them. I think we should come in quietly, but there were so many men, we'll need a distraction to draw them out."
He seemed to agree. "I'll run away and...blow something up or something, then I'll meet you inside."
Ever glanced up at the sky. "Do it to the East, the sound will carry better. Okay, break!"
She went back to hide in the forest, but Wally caught her arm.
"Just stay out of sight, kay?"
She nodded, and Kid sped off toward the East.
A few minutes later, a huge boom thundered through the island, and Ever heard the sound of many feet rushing toward her.
