52 | Can't Hold Us

Hello lovelies!

Kay so now...Eid Mubarak to all my Muslim readers <3

It's been a minute, more like a month. Soz.

I accidentally published this last night, so an apology for that. It wasn't entirely ready and I screamed realising what I did.

Anyway, another reason for screaming is the DWD trailer release (finally, only took much more than a year). I'm beyond excited!!!

But back to topic...

This is another very long one, the longest yet, I believe, so grab a snack. It's also very fun (?) You can decide on that.

What's different about this chapter is that there are a lot of pictures for visuals within the text. I've never done this too much except for like a couple edits here and there, but there are more here. ANYWAY, just a fair warning.

Also, please don't forget to vote and comment, because I love reading the little things you have to say.

So, without further ado, I hope you enjoy this one, my darling rosy tulips 🌷

Harry.

Landing at Heathrow never gave me anxiety, until now.

A plethora of people walked throughout the airport, bumping into us as we followed the 'baggage claim' signs. It was the evening of the fewer flights, but it was still the holidays, and everyone wanted to get back to wherever their home was. Mine was in Vancouver, but it was also beside me.

My grip was tight on both the carry-on handle and Essie's hand. She followed along, trying to make brief small talk, knowing she was indirectly trying to get me out of my head. It worked, but it wasn't a permanent fix.

I could tell that Serenity was entranced with the number of English accents she heard because it was new to her. I was the only one who had it that she knew of, but being in England, it was everywhere.

Then again, it wasn't the first time that she was mesmerised by something — flying first class was something she didn't expect. Apparently, Amara told her some truthful statements about standard airplane food and tiny washrooms, but those didn't apply to how she was travelling with me.

She did get a peek through to the economy cabin before departure, and she came back to her chair with wide eyes, then continued to whisper-yell about how I wasted my money for her to get a nice seat. It was quite adorable, if I'm honest. I shut her up with a kiss and left it at that.

This cabin was known for its fancy foods, written a proper menu, a glass cup instead of a plastic one, and a washroom with the ability to shower if she pleased. Of course, the complimentary brand toiletry products and blankets were always included.

We found out quickly if Serenity was nervous about flying; that was when she heard the plane engine turn on, and began to panic at how there wouldn't be enough air for everyone. I helped her through it, and softly explained that there was more she ever thought possible. I held her hand before and during takeoff, and refused to let go until she was ready. If it was up to her, she would've shared the same seat, but the individual suites didn't make it possible for that — other than she wouldn't even be allowed. I did hand her a stick of gum, so her ears didn't pop and to have something else to focus on, which seemed to work.

Since it was already late, we didn't sleep until just after we had dinner and watched part of a movie together. It wasn't long before she was out cold, though. My poor girl was exhausted from her nerves, and it was already night. Me, on the other hand, it took me a while to fall asleep, a common problem I had on flights; I struggled finding the ability to do that. So I generally spent most of my time doing work, and listening to whatever classical music was playing on the station. It put me in a relaxed mood, but never enough to actually rest. But somehow, with Essie, I found more than enough peace and serenity to fall into a slumber.

We had about an hour of our trip left before I woke up, seeing that my girl was already up, munching on a scone while watching one of my favourite Disney movies. The second she knew I was awake, she gazed at me with a soft smile while I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, then adjusted my seat back into an upright position.

Essie mentioned that she told the hostess to bring my breakfast later so that I could sleep longer. She then pressed the call button so they could get it while I quickly popped into the washroom to freshen up. It seemed that she was already familiar with every button, having explored her mini suite.

We chatted while I ate, to which I asked how she slept, replying by saying it was good and that she woke up about an hour and a half before me. Apparently, she had to go to the bathroom, and then there was some bad turbulence for a while. Upon hearing that she was scared from what was happening, I questioned why she didn't wake me. "You looked so peaceful. I couldn't do that, so I listened to the songs you like to play that help you relax," she'd said.

I could never find a girl to love other than her.

It all kept adding up to why she was the one for me.

Her hand was clasped tight on mine during the entire landing, and she may or may not have cussed out the hostess when she told her to open the window covering. I couldn't help but chuckle and rub my thumb over her smooth skin. No doubt that I got a glare, seeing those pretty sapphire eyes in irritation.

But things changed when we walked off the platform and were officially in the airport, went through customs, and then even more so once I saw a very familiar man waiting in the arrivals, with my surname printed on the sign.

"It's nice to see you again, Mr Styles," Fredrick greeted us.

Fredrick was one of the many drivers that our family had. I contacted him personally, ensuring he wouldn't tell anyone I was coming. He was the most trustworthy and formal employee, so I knew that the secret wouldn't somehow find a way to come out. Nonetheless, my arrival was a surprise because it was a family reunion I wasn't looking forward to.

I replied professionally and introduced Serenity when he questioned who she was as we walked to get our bag. She was a bit shy, comparing to how she was with Archie, but I understood why. It was nerve-wracking for her to be in such an environment and as nice as Fredrick was, he wasn't as friendly as my personal driver. It was better this way.

Unfortunately, most of the staff my father hired didn't have a soft side. They were simply professional and did their job. Sometimes I believed that they were only like that to make sure they wouldn't be fired. He disliked when they showed an ounce of kindness. I guess it fits with how his personality was. They weren't treated well by everyone in my family, and it was worse when a little affection was thrown at anyone. After some time, I believed that they just got used to it.

It was a shit show — just like everything else.

During the drive to the hotel — the ME London, where I usually stayed when I came alone, the Langham when I travelled with others — I watched Serenity look out of the window, exploring the unfamiliar city. It was her first time outside of Canada, and she was excited, but toned down that feeling because we weren't alone. I gave her a little tour as we passed by certain landmarks and promised to show her around more after we finished from the real reason we came here.

We weren't going to be in London for long. I would've kept the trip a max of two days if it was just myself, but I extended it to a week since my girl was with me. She also wouldn't be used to dealing with jet lag, and I knew it would hit her hard. Vancouver to London wasn't exactly considered a short flight. However, it was going to be a quick chat with my family, and that was it. I wasn't anywhere near ecstatic to see them. The visit was to get some answers and leave. Nothing more, nothing less. But I knew Eric Styles would somehow try and persuade me that it was all a fucking lie.

He was dreaming.

And, as always, I knew he would be irritated that I didn't stay at the house, and simply that he wasn't aware I was even in London. He only cared about what people would say if they found out I was in the city. "How come you're not staying with your dad?" People have said in the past, and before my dear father would answer, I'd butt in, "It's easier that way. I don't want to bug them. Plus, our schedules are different."

Keeping things vague and an ultimate lie was the absolute best.

I didn't have an ounce of care about what the world would say. The only reason that stopped me from speaking the truth was so that I didn't want to give myself a bad name.

Harry Styles wasn't apart of Styles Enterprises. I represented a completely different company with a reputable and respected name in the business world; I would never let his conniving personality ruin my reputation and the thousands of people who work for me.

Urban Corp. was on top, and I was going to make sure it would remain that way.

The more I thought about everything, the more I realised that I hadn't seen my whole family in a few years, and frankly, I didn't miss them. The last I heard was that my half-brother was working in my father's company — no surprise there. Tommy was the biggest fucking suck-up I'd ever know, and he was my dad's pride and joy. He was the true blood of the Styles. Ironic considering that I was too. But Valentina didn't fit under the high-class category, which clearly made us outcasts.

However, I was considering the term 'underdog' fit better.

Nonetheless, I fucking hated statuses and labels. They're the reason why the world is so fucked up.

Once we reached the hotel, Serenity was still enamoured by it all. By no means was the ME a cheap hotel; it was one of the best in the entire city. The first time I stayed was on a trip with Mateo, I immediately fell in love with the view. There was something about seeing London from here that made me feel at home. The irony was that the interior was the complete opposite of what would consider 'homey.' It was similar to my condo.

Things changed that night I stayed here alone, the first time I called Essie to hear her voice. I never felt at home then because it was fate that she would become that for me. But now, it became a two-in-one; I was happy to share this place with her — to share where I was from with her.

There was one thing I was slightly afraid of, though, Serenity thinking that I was using my money to stay in such a lavish place. She didn't believe so when it came to staying at the Fairmont in Banff. I knew that the fact that I was a multimillionaire wasn't the reason we were dating, and doesn't even pay attention to it. She makes those occasional comments of me being a 'rich bitch' and using my money to get things done, but they were all in humour — she never meant them in a hurtful way and I knew that.

Another reason why I was sure it was true was because we lived in our small sardine can. It became home much more than I ever felt in my condo. I wasn't sure whether it was because of how cosy it was, the fact that Essie was the love of my life — or both.

No, definitely both.

When I first moved to Canada, I lived in a similar apartment, but mine was much shittier. Frankly, I didn't live in the dorms because I didn't want anything to remind me of what my life was like in boarding school. I wanted my own space, and even though it was a worn-down disaster, I still had a roof over my head and managed to pay my dues. Over the years, and with a ton of hard work, I finally managed to get to where I am today.

Glancing over to Essie, I noticed that her jaw hadn't closed when we stepped on the curb in front of the hotel — and neither had it changed since we walked through the main doors. Everything was opulent, expensive, and very modern. It was a sight I'd seen multiple times but something very new to her.

There was a short elevator ride led to the lobby, and it was a time that I met her gaze because of the confined space. I gave her a soft expression, holding her hand while never breaking eye contact.

But once the doors opened, she peered elsewhere, parting from one another as we walked out. The aroma of fresh cucumber welcomed our senses, the iconic fragrance the hotel carried. It was unforgettable.

Throughout the opulent triangular lobby, her eyes travelled all the way up to the, what seemed like a never-ending ceiling, skylight. The clouds were grey, the sun peeked through for a split second, almost as if a greeting for my sweet girl.

A few large twig trees were set up in the corners, elegant decorations surrounding them, and a few were on the marble countertops.

The workers recognised me immediately, and it didn't take long for them to hand us a couple of key cards — ones that which Serenity took blindly from me. I just chuckled at her surprised expression. "Petal, take the card."

She didn't even realise that she had taken it when she responded with,"What card?"

The poor girl was enthralled by contemporary and modern design, something that was filled all over the city of Vancouver with the addition of ultimate nature; she just didn't see it the same way as I did every day. I just pressed a kiss on her temple before we followed the bellboy back to the elevators and up to our suite.

And even when we got there, she was still in shock, taking everything in.

The suites were all similar, only slight differences between them; but I always loved the 'chic suite.' It was my favourite and the reason why Iris just knew to book it for this trip. This time, though, I knew it would be the best time I'd ever stayed in London — because Serenity was with me.

A small hallway led into the suite, opening up onto a living room, open to the bedroom on the left. A beige couch sat on the left wall, an entertainment system parallel, taking up the length of the space with a coffee table settled in between. A triangular window cornered at the farthest end, overlooking part of the city. LED lights hovered along the edges of the room to cause a mood for the whole area, interchangeable to whatever colour the guest preferred.

It was easy to say that it was an adults-only hotel, so they could get very creative with how they wanted to feel. Each hue creating a different vibe.

The bedroom had a king-sized bed, two end tables, a cinema-worthy telly across, lights surrounding it, and a large window on the corner. The bathroom to the left was magnificent and spa-like, with double sinks, a massive shower, and a large tub. They were two things I wanted to use with Serenity.

"Baby? Es?" I tried getting her attention after tipping the man who brought our things had left.

Letting out a sigh, I walked up to her from behind and said, "Yo, sweetheart, what's trippin'?"

"Yeah, huh, what? No, I don't want food right now," she spoke, and I let out a boisterous laugh.

"Starlight, close your mouth. You'll catch a fly," I said, shrugging off my coat and hanging it in the closet. "I never said anything about food, but now that you brought it up, you sure you're not hungry? We haven't eaten since the flight. It's been a little while."

"I think I'm okay for now. I'm so tired, though," she spoke, feeling the exhaustion that was starting to hit her.

"Nu-uh, baby girl" I tutted. "No sleep for you. You've gotta stay up, so you don't get bad jet lag."

"How about just five minutes?" she bargained with a yawn as she raised her hand to me, fingers stretched out.

"Not a chance. I know you. Once you lay in that bed, you'll be out cold. So, no," I said firmly, and she whined.

"You're mean." She pouted, and I chuckled.

"You'll live." I smirked. "Now wipe that pout off before I do things that will get you in that bed faster than I intend to."

"Sounds tempting." A smile curled on her lips.

"Nice try, darling. But how about we shower and then get something to eat afterward? Maybe watch a movie."

"Depends. What movie?"

"You know what I want."

"Fuck, fine. The Notebook it is." I groaned. "Only because I don't want you to fall asleep."

"Never with that one." She grinned.

And with that set, we ended up in the shower moments once we unpacked a few things and kept it as PG as possible. I didn't want to tire her out. I knew how she got after our intimate 'activities.' But, of course, I snuck in a few kisses here and there. It was hard to keep my hands entirely to myself, but the difficult mission was a success.

Needless to say, Essie wanted to try out all of the complimentary toiletries in the room; it was quite amusing to watch her do so.

While we were getting dressed, Serenity stole my — her — Urban Corp. hoodie just because she could. I gave up on that argument long ago since I knew that she would never actually wear the one I got her. She only let me wear it occasionally because she wanted to keep my scent on it. I told her to spray some of my cologne on it, but she refused. It was mine that she loved.

After ordering room service, we snuggled upright in bed to eat our food and watch the movie. Then we moved one after another and kept the pattern going for the rest of the day before we dozed off into a deep slumber.

♬ ✥*

Things have been hectic ever since I woke up.

My mind was running wild, and I couldn't slow it down. I tried keeping things in a semi-relaxed mode, but nothing was working. I was in the most serene state when I first opened my eyes and spent several minutes just admiring my sweet girl, who had her head resting on my chest. Her arm was wrapped around my waist with a leg slightly over mine. She was keeping me close even in our slumber and I loved her so much for it.

We never had a preferred sleeping position because it was all switched up, but there was no time when our bodies were apart. We were always entwined in some way or another.

My eyes glanced all over her, appreciating the beauty she held. The way small puffs of air escaped her slightly parted mouth. The way her lashes fluttered rapidly while remaining closed as she slept deeply. The way an occasional smile would curl on her lips as she dreamt. The way her freckles kissed her skin creating my favourite galaxy of delicate stars. The way her pretty brown hair was scattered all over me in a crazy bird's nest. The way her nose would occasionally scrunch when she shifted.

She was so fucking stunning, and I was the luckiest man in the world to be the one to keep her.

With a gentle kiss on her forehead, I carefully got out of bed, replacing my body with a pillow she could hold instead.

Sleep couldn't work for me anymore, and I knew that coffee wouldn't do anything. So I washed up, changed into some workout clothes, and went for a run. Yes, it was fucking freezing and dark out because it was January in London, but I needed to try and clear my mind and hoped that the cold weather would do that for me.

It didn't.

So I went to the gym and lifted some weights.

That helped — but only a little.

By the time the sky brightened up a bit, the gym had started to get filled with a few more people, some of whom were females that clearly wanted my attention.

I gave them none.

They seemed offended, but I couldn't care less. I had Serenity and only needed her. She was the one that occupied my mind.

And even while I was lifting some weights, she never failed to make her appearance in my thoughts, remembering a time we decided to go together.

"How often do you hit the gym, baby?"

"Not as much as I'd like."

"So you ballerinas really do lift weights and all that?" I said.

"You're saying that like it's an insult," she stated.

"I mean, I just never expected you to come to this side of the gym."

"Yeah, that's definitely an insult." Crossing her arms, her eyes narrowed.

"What can you lift?"

"How much do you think?"

"Fifty, maybe sixty, give or take," I said, and Serenity sighed.

"Okay, fine. Whatever," she huffed, and turned her back to me.

"That's alright, darling. It's not bad to not lift that much. I can help train you to lift more, if you'd like," I offered with a smile, coming up behind her back, and placed my hands on her hips.

"Sure. What about you?"

"About 400. Pull around 450," I answered smugly, and she turned around to face me.

Her brow lifted. "Doesn't look like it. Sure, you've got some abs and a little muscle. Won't believe you until I see it."

"Some abs?" I huffed at her sly words. "A little muscle? Darling, that's a bit of an insult, don't you think?"

She smirked. "Whoops. Did I say that?"

It was my turn to narrow my eyes at her.

If she wanted to see it, I was going to fucking prove it.

So I made my way to add some equal weights on the ends of the barbell — two hundred each — to ready myself for my darling girl. I'd already warmed up before, so there wasn't much of a sudden difference.

I could see the faint look of hesitation on her face at the heavy amount.

But I flashed her a confident smirk.

Then she grinned. "Do your worst, handsome."

So I did.

Slipping on a pair of lifting gloves, I fasted the velcro together, bouncing lightly on my feet on the spot. Craning my neck from side to side, I rolled my shoulders back and grasped hold of the bar. Lifting it carefully, yet without hesitation, I settled it lightly on my shoulders as I felt a faint layer of sweat settle on my skin as I held it for a moment.

Essie's jaw partially at my sight, her arms anxious by her side. I noticed the stares from a few people surrounding us and definitely got their attention when I dropped it with that same fortitude.

She flinched slightly when the powerful sound echoed through the gym, but I just smiled.

Walking back over to her, I wrapped my arms around her waist, watching as her eyes narrowed on me.

"What'd you think, baby? Was my worst good enough for you?"

"You said 450, didn't you?" she asked, nodding to the machines.

I could tell my girl was impressed, but wanted more.

"Mhm," I spoke, kissing her cheek, then moved to her ear and whispered, "I'll show you whatever you want, sweetheart."

Moving around, I cleaned up and set things to how they were before I made my way to the machine I needed. Setting the weights in place, I saw Essie's head tilt slightly to watch while I adjusted everything.

Sitting down on the seat and another smooth adjust to my form, I wrapped my hands around the bar, and with a deep exhale, I began to pull. One rep after another, I released stressed groans as I felt all of the muscles in my body contract. The sweat collected further on my skin, I could feel it start to soak a bit through my shirt. I made five in total before I released my hold as carefully as I could in my worn state.

Before glancing over to Serenity, I rested my palms on my thighs, letting out heavy breaths as I calmed my body down.

But instead of seeing a pleased or proud expression, I saw a frown.

"Es, baby, what's wrong?" I asked, still panting.

"I'll repeat myself. You said 450, Harry. You put 500 on that. I saw what you did. Don't put on a show just for me and attempt to injure yourself while you're at it," she spoke, clearly upset with me.

Letting out a small chuckle, I moved to walk back over to her, standing in her direct view.

"You worried about me, darling?" I placed my hands on her hips, nudging my nose against her cheek. "Afraid I'll hurt my back or something?"

"No, not at all. You're only just carrying a uni book backpack," she said sarcastically.

"I said around 450, petal. That doesn't mean I can't pull 500. That's the most I've done."

Crossing her arms, she narrowed her eyes at me. "I hate you."

"You don't mean that," I teased, pinching her waist lightly.

"I do."

"Alright, I'll choose not to believe that." My lips pulled into that familiar grin. "You want to get out of here."

"No," she spoke firmly. "It's my turn."

"Alright. Let's see what you can do, baby. Don't hurt yourself, yeah?"

"Asshole," she mumbled, and I snickered.

I was really pissing Serenity off today, and I enjoyed every second of it.

My eyes followed her as she went back to where the bars were and waited patiently for someone to finish. I stood a short distance away, watching as her foot tapped against the floor. I knew that she wasn't bothered with waiting for it to free up, but she was beyond irritated because of me.

Once the man was done with his workout, his gaze flickered over to my girl, clearly interested in what he was seeing. My entire body tensed at the way he walked towards her.

"Hey, pretty lady. Need any help with anything? I'd love to be of your assistance," he spoke disgustingly.

I'd love to be of your assistance. Really? What, was he a flight attendant or some shit?

"No thanks. I'm good."

"Come on, I'm sure you need a strong man to show you the ropes. Maybe take you by them too."

"I know what I'm doing," she replied firmly.

"If you —"

"If the pretty lady needs anything, she can ask her boyfriend," I interrupted, standing in front of him to block his view from Serenity.

He was sizing me up, adjusting his posture further to showcase his muscles, but I could fucking take him any day.

"She never mentioned she had a boyfriend."

"Look here, mate, here's the thing, she never even told you her name. She doesn't want your help. She has a boyfriend. And I just want you to piss off. So leave before I have to fucking make you," I seethed.

The man stood for a few moments before Serenity smoothed her fingertips on my left forearm up to my bicep as she leaned into me.

"In case he hasn't made it clear, buh-bye." I could hear the sly smile in her voice.

And finally, he left.

"Oh, how I love when you're jealous. It's cute," she grinned up at me.

I huffed. "Nobody looks and talks to you like that and thinks it's okay."

Essie raised a brow. "You think that gets you off the hook?"

"It doesn't?"

"Fat chance."

And in just minutes, she set it all up on her own, clearly familiar with exactly how to do it. Then, with the proper stance, she did the same exact squat lift as I did earlier. It was easy to say that my jaw dropped instantly as she raised the bar with minimum effort.

Shaking my head, I rubbed my hand over my face in shock.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me."

"No, handsome, I'm not fucking kidding." She smirked. "Was 280 not good enough for you?"

"Fucking hell, you could lift me if you wanted to," I said in disbelief.

"Don't doubt a ballerina, Tiger. Your muscles might show more than mine, but that doesn't mean anything," Essie remarked, and a short laugh escaped my mouth.

"I won't ever doubt you again, sweet girl. Fuck," I spoke, shaking my head. And hearing her cuss wasn't helping how I was feeling right now. The emotions running through my body were far too strong.

"You know, I only did that for show, H. I don't normally lift weights. We strength train in different ways. I'm not a body builder or what to show my muscles. Our form and body shape has to remain a certain way. It's just the way it is, and I'm okay with that." She smiled.

"I love the way your body is, Es. So beautiful, so fit, so fucking stunning." I grinned, pinching her waist in just the right spot, having her jump away from me.

Then suddenly, she showed one of her most dangerous expressions — a smirk that always said: don't fuck with me.

"Speaking of all this, remember when you said you could keep up with me because you go to the gym?"

Fuck.

"When?" I tried to play dumb. Maybe she wouldn't catch on.

"Oh, pretty, I know you remember. You have the memory of an elephant. So, what do you say we put that to the test?"

"Have me panting on the ground in less than ten minutes?" I let out a short laugh, and spoke confidently, "I still stand by my statement, darling. I doubt it you'll be able to."

The twinkle in her eyes really meant something because, boy, was I fucking wrong.

She really had me panting on the ground by nine minutes.

And apparently, that was only the warm-up.

Fuck me, what she did was really hard  and she didn't even break a sweat.

"Petal?"

"Yeah, pretty?" Serenity said with a smile, adjusting the bun on her hair.

"Are you trying to kill me? Is this bloody payback?"

Looking at me, that grin widened. "No, not at all."

She meant that.

Narrowing my eyes at her, I spoke, "I fucking hate you."

Laughing, she neared me. "I love you too, baby."

With a kiss on my lips, I dropped back down on my ass, laying my back on the ground.

Patting my thigh, she spoke, "Get up, Mr Dramatic. We're not done."

My brows furrowed. "Hey, you never said anything about more. You just wanted me on the ground. I'm on the ground and fucking wiped out."

"Wouldn't want anyone to hear you got laid down by a ballerina. That's not good for your reputation."

"Don't fucking care. You win. I surrender. That's enough. I'll tell anyone that."

"Awe..." she spoke softly, caressing my cheek with her hand. "...are you tired, H?"

"Yes."

"That's too bad. You said you'd be treating me to a feast tonight. I guess that —"

I was up.

"Nope." And just like that, I got a shit ton of energy. "Let's go."

But my ass truly was put on the ground. I barely made it to the bedroom after we came home before I passed out with muscles sore as fuck.

I didn't realise how relaxed my body suddenly felt as I remembered that day with her. Wiping my hands, I wrapped my towel around my neck and headed back to the room. Some music was playing, and I knew she was awake. When I walked into the bedroom, I leaned against the open frame to the bathroom to find Serenity spitting toothpaste from her mouth as she looked at me with a clean smile.

"Morning, handsome," she greeted, wiping her lips with a face towel. "Someone's clearly been up early."

"Morning, darling," I replied softly, moving over to her to place a kiss on her cheek. "I'm all sweaty, sorry. I didn't expect you to be up now. The jet lag and all."

"I'm still a bit exhausted. Plus, you weren't in bed, and waited a bit more to see when you'd come back to cuddle a bit. After about a half hour I figured I should get up," she said, sitting on the bed with one leg under her.

"Well, I'm glad you're up." Biting my lip, I shook my head slightly. "Sorry, my mind's just a bit all over the place."

She hummed softly, and showed a small smile. "Don't be sorry, H. Breakfast?"

"Sure. Order some while I take a quick shower, yeah?" I spoke, peeling off my wet shirt, only to see her gaze on me with slightly parted lips. Licking my own, I smiled while narrowing my eyes. "Oi, don't look at me like I'm a piece of meat."

"It's not my fault you're attractive," she replied, shrugging innocently with a grin.

"Oh, yeah. Act all innocent, sweetheart. Do that."

"I am innocent, thank you very much," she countered with a surprised laugh. "Someone corrupted me, and that someone standing is right front of me."

"Don't push the blame on me, darling. It's all on you." I smiled, going over to grab a change of clothes.

And once I walked past her, I felt a smack on my bum that caused me to turn around only to see her biting her nails, pretending as if she'd done nothing.

"What?" Her lips pulled into a smirk when I glared at her playfully. As soon as I turned around, she called back to me. "Go shower. You really are a sweaty mess."

With my back to her, I flipped her off, hearing that adorable laugh I loved so much.

But then, it felt like time had gone by so quickly. Breakfast felt rushed, getting dressed was the same. We made a little bit of small talk here and there, trying my best not to worry about the near future.

I knew that Serenity could see my nerves, but she never commented on it. Instead, she decided not to let me be in the room alone; and even when she was getting ready, she tugged me into the bathroom with her to do her makeup. She also tried singing random songs while giving me a little laugh; needless to say, it worked.

I loved her terrible singing voice.

"You ready, darling?" I asked, letting out a deep breath as I pushed myself off the bathroom counter, and began fiddling with the cuff of my sweater.

Everything was going to be different after I left the Styles' residence today.

And as of now, everything was already different.

My appearance would be something no one here would've seen before. I left the UK as one man, and came back in a way that made my heart beat faster.

I was wearing dark brown pants and a ginger-toned jumper, carrying some green on the cuffs and the hem. Serenity thought it was cute and bought it a while back, and I immediately fell in love. She was right; it did look good on me. I wore it a couple of times when we went out together, including a time where we at her parent's place for dinner. They complimented on how I looked in it, and without a doubt, I blushed. Lastly, upon the bride of my nose, sat my glasses.

It was the first time they were all going to see me in colour and wearing specs. I was never comfortable with that with anyone, and even with the massive amount of confidence I gained, at this moment, I felt like I had absolutely none anymore.

I already saw the way Fredrick looked at me when he picked us up. It was a very brief shocked expression, but he never commented on it. He never spoke his thoughts, nor was he allowed to. So at least I had that sense of security from him.

I mean, sweats and a sweater with my specs on was nothing anyone would've expected from me. I was in a monochromatic suit while wearing my contacts — always.

But not anymore.

"I should be asking you that, pretty," Essie replied, looking at me with a soft smile and caressing my cheek.

She was in an oversized baby pink knit sweater, black leggings, and boots. Her hair was braided in an undo with soft makeup on her face, and to put it simply, she looked stunning — as she always did.

"Honestly, I have no fucking idea," I said, shuffling from side to side.

Serenity moved to stand in front of me, taking my hands in hers before placing a kiss on the top of each one.

"You can do it. I'll be by your side the whole time. Don't forget that."

Letting out a deep breath, my brows furrowed together, and I nodded once. "Okay, yeah. I can do this. I've got to do this."

"Well then, let's get going. Let's rip the Band-Aid off and get some answers."

"In that case, come on. Fredrick's waiting."

"Hey, you think he can play something upbeat for our iconic entrance?" she asked while grabbing her purse, slinging it over her shoulder.

Essie quickly picked up on the fact that he only played opera music. It was a request my father made, and no one could change it.

"Yeah, sure. I'll even get you some tickets at that sold-out gig you wanted to go to," I said sarcastically, rolling my eye as I ushered her towards the door.

"You can do that. You're rich. My rich bitch," she quipped with a grin.

"Let's go, Serenity."

Pulling up to the Styles' residence was much more intimidating than last. That was when I came with Madison, who I loved, and was excited to show them something personal about me. But, of course, they didn't care about how I truly felt.

That shit wasn't new.

Things were different, though. Everything was different.

But the mansion remained the same.

The black iron gates opened up, letting the luxury vehicle pass through, security tipping their heads at Fredrick. I knew that it didn't cross their minds that someone would be in the car. He was just here to pick up my father in a few hours who had a business luncheon. Waiting was something they had to do. On weekends, I never let Archie around. I left him to have the weekend off. The elder Styles didn't have the common courtesy for that, though.

The car drove onto the smooth stone driveway, no longer feeling the bumps from the asphalt road. There wasn't much greenery on the property, mainly since it was winter, but also because I knew he didn't want to spend a lot of money on landscaping. A few small trees and shrubs were set along the length of the mansion.

It was another reason why I wished there was grass so that I could maybe find a spot to plant something, but I never got a chance. There was hardly that, even in the back. A lavish pool and grande sitting area with heat posts and an outdoor kitchen were the perfect things for entertaining — something they did quite often. Being a part of the rich and business-famous meant that hosting parties and events were a must. Of course, they never had to worry about cooking anything because none of it was done by their hands. The only thing they did with them was wave them around, letting out insults while directing the catering companies and event planners into doing things.

Ivory-toned concrete blocks were stacked neatly, forming the opulent house, framed windows, and a light mahogany door centring the symmetrical appearance. That was the same door I walked in and out from with ultimate sadness and silent anger. I felt relief when I decided to move to Canada and stepped out, knowing that I wouldn't have to be under his control anymore.

It was the most liberating feeling I had in the eighteen years of my life.

Of course, that was other than playing the cello. That transformed my soul into a different galaxy, one that I was so transfixed in and wished that I could live in forever.

The glass windows reflected the dark grey skies stowing in a massive amount of rain that was desperate to fall, mimicking the urge to cry the tears trapped within me.

I felt a squeeze on my hand and turned my head to look at Serenity, who had a soothing expression on her face. She saw the way I was feeling. My gaze broke from hers when I heard the car park and Fredrick open his door.

Essie was about to open her door, but he beat her to it. The Styles Family were never allowed to open things by themselves. In a way, that freedom was taken away from us. Other people did the simplest things for us because apparently, we no longer had hands.

Ah, yes, and we were of the higher class and could never do such things.

Idiots.

Serenity politely thanked him, and he nodded his head once in reply. Minimal words were best with the help.

The reasons were flooding back to why I hated being apart of this family.

Suddenly, the rain came down on us hard, but Fredrick was ready. He opened an umbrella and walked us to the door.

And we were immediately greeted by a very familiar and friendly face.

"Oh, Mr Styles! We weren't expecting to see you. It's been a while," Gertrude said happily, ushering us inside.

"It thought it'd be a nice surprise, Gertrude." I grinned. "How are you? And the kids?"

"I'm well, thank you." She smiled. "And the kids are no longer. They're grown and doing their A-levels. Always tell them to make sure they get into the best school. They want to follow in your footsteps."

Now that was something that shocked me.

"Me?" My brows furrowed. "Why me?"

"Son, you're a role model, not the someone else we both know," she whispered with a smile, and I just chuckled, shaking my head.

I just knew that Serenity was beaming with pride for me right now.

"I'm flattered. Speaking of my father. He's still home, yeah?"

"Yes, he hasn't left yet."

"Good," I replied, and she just nodded in response. Then she just looked at me with a warm expression.

"I might say that this is the best I've seen you. And I always knew those glasses looked marvellous on you," she spoke, clapping her hands together as I felt my cheeks redden.

"I very much agree," Serenity piped in.

"Now, who is this pretty lady you have with you?" Gertrude asked with a smile.

Biting my lip to hold my ecstatic grin. "This is Serenity. She's my love."

"It's nice to meet you," Essie spoke softly.

"Oh, I like her." Her reply was instantaneous — something that didn't happen when I introduced her to Madison.

"We won't be staying too long, but if she needs something, make sure she gets it right away. Okay, Gertie?"

"Anything you say, Mr Sty— Harry." She smiled.

I knew Gertrude was surprised earlier to see me, but I made her she called me by my first name. She was the only woman who helped me out whenever I needed anything or helped me. Hell, she practically raised me — at least, the times when I was actually home.

"Where is he?"

"In his study. He had to make a call, and I brought him coffee there not too long ago. Your mother is in the dining room with Tommy. They're having breakfast, and should be almost done. Would you like anything right now?"

I winced when she called Lauren my 'mother.' She was no mother of mine.

I looked at my girl, and she just smiled, shaking her head. "No, we're fine. Thank you, Gertie."

She nodded and turned on her heel, walking towards the kitchen.

"She's nice," Essie commented.

"The nicest person in the house," I replied.

Serenity's eyes went everywhere as she looked around the space. That shock within her was still there. It was filled with elegance with a classic English feel; my modern-designed condo was nothing in comparison, and I made sure that it would stay that way. I didn't want anything to remind me of my house back in England.

Definitely a house, never a home.

"This is some mansion," she spoke softly. "I wonder how it was growing up here. Everything is so pretty."

"I wouldn't know too much. But when I was around, it was fucking shit," I said, matter-of-factly.

Her gaze quickly snapped towards me with wide eyes.

"Oh, right. My bad. I hate it here. It's ugly. Hideous actually," she corrected herself, and I chuckled.

"It's alright." Taking hold of her hand, I smiled. "Come on. This way, baby."

"Wait, my boots," she spoke, pointing down at her feet.

"Not here, Starlight. We don't take them off in this house. It's the life of the rich and famous."

We walked through the space, greeted by a few staff, noticing the briefly dropped jaws at my sight. It was also different: how I looked to the people in this household.

It was an introduction to the improved Harry Styles, and it was only going to get better.

Stepping into the dining room, we were met by my 'mother' and Tommy seated at the ornate wooden table. My father, who always sat at the head, was still in his office, plate partially touched. The food spread out for breakfast could feed an army. Eggs, toast, bread, beans, multiple flavours of jams, fruit, and savoury scones.

If anyone amongst what they considered 'middle-class' people saw it, they'd say it was a feast for royalty. Even then, the Styles clan would think they were in another life.

"Harry!" Lauren spoke once she looked up from her plate, set her fork down, and wiped her mouth. "We weren't expecting you."

Big fucking shock. Let me get the Daily Mail to write an article.

"Yeah, I know," I deadpanned. That's fucking obvious.

"Come on, we're still having breakfast. Sit, eat."

Like she ever cared about if I actually ate. If I slept in, I had to get something to eat in the kitchen, instead of a full English breakfast, cereal was enough to suffice me. If Gertie was free, she'd make me something else; sometimes eggs or pancakes. She wanted me to have strong bones, so a glass of milk was a must-have.

But now, because I had someone else with me, she was acting all prim and proper.

I knew that would change when they found out she wasn't from a rich and respectable family — at least, one that fit their definition.

Serenity's family was rich in love and respectful to everyone. That's all I ever needed.

Nonetheless, we took the two open seats to the right of my father's chair.

She then called for Gertie to grab extra dinnerware for us. As if we were actually going to eat anything.

"So, Harry, I see you look..." Lauren trailed off, clearing her throat. "...different."

Now that was meant as an insult.

Fuck you.

"No. I look like me, not different," I stated flatly.

"How are you, big brother?" Tommy suddenly spoke up.

My brother had natural blonde hair and dark brunette roots. He tried to get a certain woman's attention by gazing at her with his pale blue eyes. They were his "best feature," so he'd said. His bone structure adjusted slightly, and he definitely looked more manly than the last time I'd seen him. The maturity sure showed, but I knew it didn't with his personality.

But even so, I could only see how he was a perfect mix between his mum and our dad. I wasn't.

It all made sense. He was my half-brother, and that only made me wonder if he knew.

"Great," I replied blankly.

Thanks for asking now, and not picking up the phone whenever you don't need anything.

Ungrateful and greedy asshole.

Serenity lightly elbowed me, prompting me to be at least a little bit polite.

"And you two?"

"Splendid. I went out with Patricia, you remember her, right? We bought the finest wine the other day. Of course, a Birkin bag to match." She beamed with pride.

"Usually people buy cheese with wine, not a purse, but whatever floats your boat," I mumbled, and she scoffed.

"Well, I've been good. Working at dad's company is the best. I seriously don't get why you didn't follow in his footsteps," Tommy said after finishing the rest of the food on his plate.

"Well, because I didn't want to be a fraud and actually wanted to work for my status respectably," I sneered with a sarcastic grin.

"Harry, son! We weren't expecting you. What a nice surprise!" My father's voice bellowed in the space, hearing him before seeing him.

Here we go, the Daily Mail article part two.

Looking up at him, I saw my father, a smile on his face. For the first time, I wasn't sure if it was sincere or not. My guess would be the latter.

I chose not to stand when he entered the room like I used to. Serenity was close to getting up from her chair, but I subtly reached over to grasp her thigh so she could get the message. She was all for respect, but I showed more than enough of that for him over the years, and I was done with it.

"Yeah, well, they say surprises are the best thing. You know, the things that come out of nowhere have the greatest outcome," I hinted.

But he didn't know what I was referring to — at least, not yet.

Gazing at him, I saw the true similarity between Tommy and him. They shared the same hair, an identical eye colour, the face shape, and the smile. He was a fucking carbon copy. Only he showed some signs of aging with a few wrinkles here and there, but that was it. I'd say that he'd look pretty preserved in a few more decades or so for his appearance now.

But with the two directly in front of me, I truly realised how unimportant I was in the mix of everything.

I was irrelevant.

I only made two decisions on my own in this family — moving to Canada and not choosing to involve myself in the company.

Everything else, it was all chosen for me.

My thoughts were broken as I felt another light elbow hit my side. I glanced at Serenity, watching as she slightly nodded towards my father, who was now seated in his chair.

Clearing my throat, I spoke, "Sorry, what'd you say?"

"I asked how you are. You need to get your hearing checked, son. You haven't even hit the thirty mark."

"My hearing is just fine," I said through clenched teeth. "You should get yours checked, though. Seems like you don't know how to listen to what being kind to others is. Or wait, that's just the simple concept of understanding."

And that's when I felt a slightly harder hit against my arm.

I saw him tense up at my words, and was just about to reply before a feminine voice spoke up.

"I was telling Harry about how different he looks," Lauren stated again.

She just had to get my father's attention on that. As if he already didn't see it.

"Yes, I can see. Harry, I didn't know how to tell you, but I'm not sure if colour is a good look on you," he replied, and I clenched my fists. "The glasses, well —"

"They hide his green eyes, don't they?" she interrupted, and I watched as he nodded in agreement.

"I happen to like colour and my glasses. Thank you for that and the insult."

"It was no insult, Harry. Why would you say such a thing? We wouldn't say that to you."

The biggest lie ever told.

"Harry, don't wear glasses. They make you look like, well, a nerd. We can't have a Styles look like that," she'd said. "It's not flattering on you. It makes you seem...fat."

"I think you should stick to blacks. It's sophisticated. You have to appear that way," he'd said.

And many more similar statements.

"Won't you introduce us to your lady friend?"

Oh, yeah, Lauren, be all fucking polite now.

"This is Serenity. We're together," I said, grabbing hold of her hand under the table.

"You could just say girlfriend, you know?" Tommy pointed out, and I looked at him with furrowed brows.

"She's not my girlfriend. We're dating. Do you really need a label?"

"Gee, sorry," he said, surrendering his hands at my sharp tone. The mix of an American and English accent fell showed his voice. Mine was similar to my father's, the only thing I heard and spoke about throughout boarding school. However, he had the honour of experiencing both. Of course, he did. A private school in London.

But I was thrown out of the city, yet still in a prestigious school, seeing my face everyday was maybe too much of a reminder that I looked like Valentina.

Taking another sip of her tea, Lauren spoke up once more.

And I wished she didn't.

"What happened to that lovely girl Madison? She was nice. Not a mute like this one. She was prettier, too."

My entire body tensed at her words. How fucking dare she.

I felt Essie stiffen beside me, then clear her throat.

But before I could reply with my angry thoughts, I heard that delicate voice I loved so much.

"Well, my parents taught me that if you have something nice to say to someone, say it. And if you don't, it's best not to talk. So here I am, not talking. I guess some people haven't learned that memo," she sneered kindly, all while showing an innocent smile. "While you might think I'm not pretty, your opinion doesn't change the way I see myself. I know I'm beautiful."

That's my girl.

She could always handle her own. And I was happy that there was no fear in her voice. Purely and ultimately confident, not affected by her rude comment.

I could see my father frown at her reply, though. It definitely wasn't something someone who could potentially enter the Styles family would say.

"To give it to you simply, Madison was a bitch, and I love Serenity," I said simply.

"Watch your words with me, Harry. There will be no use of that language under this roof," Lauren snapped, and I rolled my eyes. "And you loved her once, didn't you?"

I flashed the fakest smile I could show. "Biggest mistake of my life."

"And not working in your father's company. Don't forget that," she added.

It was strange that my father hadn't spoken up much throughout this conversation, especially with the topics that were brought up. He was just watching everything, but he was yet to see what would unfold.

"Now, why would I regret such a thing?" I smiled. "Not working there was the best decision I ever made. I'm very successful and very happy. So why the fuck would I want to go into a business built from fraud and dirty money?"

"Don't talk about your father that way!"

"Oh yeah? What are you going to do about it, Lauren?" I replied with a smirk.

And that's what sparked my father's attention.

Finally.

His voice bellowed in the space, echoing deep into the mansion, that I was sure the help was frightened. This was also the tone that I was very familiar with.

It wasn't new, and I was used to it; it's how he spoke to me for years.

"Harry, watch your tone with her. That's your mother you're talking to!"

And I laughed.

A dry, cold, humourous laugh.

"We're at the dining table, eating breakfast, Harry. This is not a comedy show," he snapped, unamused by my surprising reaction. It was something he surely wasn't expecting because all he knew from me was to shut up and apologise.

I always apologised. But even that changed.

There was no chance he would hear that from me anymore.

"Baby, we've found our calling," I joked to my girl, and she just let out a small chuckle, covering it with her hand. "You and me. We should go on the road for a comedy roadshow."

"Harry!"

"You called, Lauren?" I grinned.

"Harry, I'm giving you one more warning. If you —"

"Oh, for fucks sake, shut up. If I wanted a scolding, I could call up my mother Valentina. Remember her?"

And then you could hear a fucking pin drop.

Smirking, I spoke in faux shock, "Wow. That sure got your attention, didn't it?"

My father cleared his throat, grinding his teeth. A light sheen of sweat made its way on his face as he slightly lifted his hand up to loosen his tie. "What are you talking about?"

"Come on, you of all people should know. Are you telling me you forgot about your first wife? My real mother. You married her over three decades ago and lived in a small house down in Brixton. You have the memory of an elephant, dear father. It's one of the things we have in common. But I can get some papers if you'd like for some proof." A grin formed on my face.

"I told that bit—"

"Watch your fucking mouth," I warned. "Don't you dare talk about my mother like that."

"She left the country. She left you. What am I supposed to do? Run after her for you, just for abandoning her son?"

There came out the truth.

Never forgetting to mention that his lies were amusing.

"I'm not even surprised you're trying to lie your way out of this one." I snorted a laugh. "You fucking deported her and gave her some money to piss off."

"It was her choice!"

"You know fucking well it wasn't," I seethed, and felt a soft touch in an attempt to calm me down.

It worked, but my breaths were heavy from my nose, chest heaving deeply.

"What? Did you forget the fact that you hit and shoved me to the ground so that she would leave? That you knew the only way she'd go was to make sure you wouldn't hurt me again. You forced her to leave through me!" I spoke through rage.

And I saw the way Serenity's gaze darted to me immediately.

She never knew about that. I never wanted to tell her before this moment. I was well aware that Essie hated my father without seeing him. With the things that I've told her about my life and what he did, this was the cherry on top. It tipped her cruel dislike over the edge, and even if I found a way to forgive him in the future, she could never — but that 'if' would never happen.

Serenity was incredibly protective of me, and it was another reason why I loved her.

For the first time, Eric Styles was then rendered speechless. His mouth opened and closed multiple times, struggling with what to say, and frankly, I was nervous about what he was even thinking about.

Everyone was silent.

The only sound heard was from the rain pouring in a fury, a strike of lightning flashed through the windows, breaking off the power, only for faint darkness to surround us. A deafening clash of thunder followed, shaking the house in trembling fear. A storm was passing through outside, just as one was occurring inside.

Lauren's gaze flickered from me to my father — no surprise that she knew.

Tommy's eyes widened in surprise — he didn't know.

And my father, well, his eyes spoke everything — he didn't even regret it.

I let out a long exhale as I looked at him, a man that ruined my life without even trying. "Is that why you hate me so much? Because of who my mother is?"

Suddenly, he found his words.

"She was a low-class bitch. How could I love someone like you? Look at my wife and your brother. They're much more worthy than you and Valentina."

The man was so fucking delusional.

"Right." Clicking my tongue at the roof of my mouth. "That's why I'm the CEO of a now, fucking multibillion-dollar company and have branches worldwide. I've made some of the most successful deals and even stole a couple from under your nose. Ones that you tried to fuck over, but I made sure you wouldn't. All of that, and apparently, I'm not successful enough for you. That's quite swell, dearest father. It's nice to know you think all of that is a failure."

His eyes narrowed down on me, and before he could say anything, I continued, "Or maybe it's because I wouldn't join your filthy company. But no, that can't be it because you treated me like shit since I was a child."

"What was I supposed to do? I knew you wouldn't be good enough," he spat, and I just grinned.

This was both the worst and best conversation I've had with my father. I just knew one thing for certain, I could already feel the weight being lifted off my shoulders.

"And look how that turned out, dad. You have marvellous luck. Worked super well in your favour."

"So, wait, you're like...my half-brother?" Tommy suddenly interrupted, and I burst into another loud, sarcastic laugh.

"Well done, Eric. This is the son who you're so proud of. He can't do even shit for himself. He's twenty-five, still lives at home and off the company, and doesn't give any success towards it. You pay for everything he does. You very much pulled strings to get him into uni and forced some professors into passing him. He can't put two cents together."

"Neither can your girlfriend. Isn't that why she wanted to squeeze herself into your company and take your money. She's probably a gold-digger," my father spoke, and rage filled my body.

With my jaw clenched, I slammed my fists on the table, shaking everything on top, and heard the sound reverberate in the room. I stood up in fury as I spoke, "Shut your fucking mouth. Don't you dare talk shit about her. I don't want to hear you talk about her period. Do you fucking understand?"

Serenity's hand delicately tapped my forearm, urging me to calm down. I couldn't look at her with the amount of fury my eyes held.

But I was surprised when I heard her soft voice.

"No, Harry. Let him. It's not like any of it matters anyway. He's clearly delusional if he thinks I'm using you for your money," she said, knowing a smile was on her face. "I mean, it's ironic how your wife is still hanging on while she's cheating on you with Taro Tanaka."

My father and I snapped our heads towards her, then to Lauren. Her mouth was agape, and she seemed stunned but didn't say a word.

"I told you, Google is wonderful. I mean, I had no idea that was actually true, but it looks like it is." She snickered. "Turns out you can trust the tabloids."

I'd realised that everyone, but Tommy had risen at this point. And just before he could confront her, Serenity raised her finger to speak again, then pointed at Lauren.

"Oh yeah, you think I also didn't end up figuring out how you knew we were coming and how you were the one who wanted to buy my studio through him to get to Harry the first time. Tanaka Group, remember them? It took me some time to solve that puzzle, but you sure went quite well in circles and avoided Harry's PI. You still managed to get what you wanted, but not for long.

"You got Taro wrapped around your finger, so you tried to use him to buy my studio, and ruin Harry's company that way. Harry obviously found out and broke from that merger with Keiko. But you found your way around everything and still managed to get it. Then you were screwed when the company you bribed — with not enough money, I might add — that bought it when our relationship had a falling out. That company threatened to tell your husband about your scandal, so you let them sell it back to Harry.

"But, of course, that was other than the fact he knew the company was up to no good, so he bought it for cheaper than what he sold it for. You were in over your head thinking you could try to mess around in the business world.

"It was more than just ruining Harry's company for you, though. You've always hated him knowing that he was more successful that your husband. You've always hated that he was successful and wasn't your child that was bringing the Styles' name up. Styles Enterprises is everything to you, and you wanted to make sure it stayed that way only for Eric's sake. It wasn't just that, though. You hated Harry because he was Valentina's son.

"You might be a trophy wife and have one of the richest men in the UK on your hand, but that means nothing. You hated that Eric once loved a woman more than you and managed to get him to fall for you. Your family might've been rich, but you were a greedy bitch and didn't care, you needed to win over his heart, and you did. But you just forgot how easy it is to mess up in the world that is business and the power of true love. The mistakes you made were everywhere, but you were too busy living the rich lifestyle, and buying Birkin bags, to notice them.

"To put it simply, Lauren, you lost," Serenity ended with a mighty proud grin on her lips.

Mine, however, were parted and in shock.

I should hire her to be my new PI.

"Is — Is this true, Lauren?" my father sputtered, looking over at his wife.

"N-no. O-of course not." She shooed her head rapidly before pointing towards my girl. "Are you going to trust some — some girl over me?"

"I'll ask you again, Lauren," his voice was firm as he paused, taking a deep breath. "Is what this some girl said true?"

I hated how he talked about Serenity, but I stayed silent. I could see Essie smirk from the corner of my eye.

"I sai—"

Tommy interrupted her, and she gazed at him with hopeful eyes. What did he know?

"Hey, mom. You were going to travel to Tokyo while dad headed off to Prague or somewhere in a couple days. Right?"

Without realising it, their son seemed to have accidentally confirmed her affair.

"Pack your fucking bags to Tokyo then. You're not coming back," my dad said, shooting daggers in his gaze.

It turned out that my dad and I do have something in common — we hate cheaters.

Which is ironic, considering he, too, was one.

What goes around comes right back around to bite you in the ass.

"No. Eric, listen to me. It's not what you think. It..."

And then I zoned out of their conversation, looking toward my sweet girl, pulling her a little closer to me.

"Have I told you how much I love you?"

"Occasionally, but I like hearing it again." She smirked, leaning forward to kiss me.

"I." Kiss. "Love." Kiss. "You." Kiss.

"Good to know." That smile was so beautiful on her face.

Turning back to where my father was, just about to head about the stairs with a desperate Lauren chasing after him.

"Hey Eric, I forgot one more thing," I called out, and watched them stop in their spots before looking at me. "If you think that you have anything against my mother, all of that paperwork you had, it's void. You try hurting her or make sure she can't enter the UK again. That's all gone. You should really be nicer to the help because they hate your fucking guts just as much as I do."

"Oh, and Eric," Serenity decided to add, "Harry looks incredibly sexy in colour and in his glasses. You're just too insecure to follow in his footsteps. But it's good that jealousy looks terrible on you."

I grinned, and I swore I could see steam coming out of his ears, his face red. Letting out one loud scream, he continued his journey as he stomped up the stairs.

"So, baby," my girl said, and I flicked my gaze back to her. "You said you had lots of bad memories in this house?"

"The worst."

And I saw a glimmering tint in her eyes, one that I knew far too well.

"Let's give them some bad memories too." A smirk pulled on her lips.

"You two are gross. Get a fucking room," Tommy's voice rang in my ears, reminding me we weren't alone.

He clearly understood what Serenity was hinting towards.

"Great idea, half-brother. Come on, baby. Let's go have some fun." I smirked, then looked at him. "Find some earplugs, Tommy. You'll need them."

"Ew, gross. I'm leaving the house," he said, pushing his chair back to stand up.

I chuckled. "Even better."

"How far away is your par—their room?"

"Across the hall from where mine used to be."

"Lovely. Whatever they turned it into doesn't matter. It's not like a bed is necessary." She grinned as I tugged her hand to head towards the stairs.

It was the first time she ever wanted to be proper loud — especially for someone to hear us. She always struggled to keep quiet in our homes, though I never liked her to be. I loved hearing her — and now, I was going to get exactly what I wanted.

"Harry?" she called my name softly, stopping us.

"Yeah, Essie?"

"Dominate me, Tiger."

She repeated the same words I told her when we were at the hotel in Banff — but they were reversed now.

"With pleasure, Starlight."

And in seconds, I tugged her hand and headed toward my former childhood bedroom.

It didn't matter if it was still in the same condition or not — or if they used it for something else— but it was a place that would be filled with the best moments to ever happen in it.

With that in mind, my goal was to have every single fucking inch of it touched by us.

A/N:

So...Serenity really spilled the tea there, didn't she? *smirks*

Let's recap:

-No, the mile high club wasn't there like I know some people might've hoped for </3 It's just too much for Tiger and Essie right now. But hey, they're wild, you never know *smirks*
-H's little flashback at the gym, that was fun. And we all know he can actually pull 500lbs with just his upper body. If you didn't know that, now you do. But Serenity sure showed him her power
-Gertie's cute

Now for the serious stuff:

-Lauren is a wretched woman
-Tommy is literally clueless and if he could wear a bib and need a nanny to show how much of a child he is
-Eric is...
**delusional
**a liar
**someone who needs a stick shoved where it hurts
**simply a horrible human being
-Serenity is...
**a queen. The end.
-Harry is...
**a king. The end.

The Royal Couple: Handsome and Petal

But who saw that little twist coming? The mysterious man to visit Starlight, the brief convo that H and Es had about Tanaka, selling the company, getting it back, all so put together now, wasn't it? Serenity nailed them both real hard with that undisclosed (now disclosed) information.

So what did y'all dig the chapter? It was filled with a ton of fun stuff. What was your favourite part and all? Y'know me and my curious self.

I've also realised that there isn't too much left, and that makes me very emotional. I don't know exactly how many chapters left, but yeah...thought I'd put that out there.

And ooh, pretty please press on that little star on the chapter, I mean, it only takes a millisecond. They're nice gifts and make me (and Essie...and Harry) happy.

Kissy, stay golden, and always TPWK my beautiful tulips 🌷

P.S. I hope y'all like those two edits. I tried. *nervous laugh*

P.P.S. I've actually stayed at the ME, not the suites, but it is a wonderful hotel, and if you get the chance, go see it. It's amazing!

P.P.P.S. Here's the rest of H's fam jam.
