KHLOE DIAMOND

We had small chats as we awaited our order, he talked about my nickname and how he had always wondered who it was.

"I can't seem to understand though, how did you completely forget about me?" I asked him, that question had been on my mind since we met again.

He shook his head obviously having no answer to my question, he just seemed as confused as I was.

"I will find out with my doctor" he replied and I nodded.

Our lunch came finally.

"Free nuts for the special order" the waitress said placing the nuts right in front of Chris with a flirty smile. Not that I cared but..... nuts!

"We will be fine without nuts, thanks" I told her, she shot me a death glare but I couldn't care less.

"The gentleman can have it" she replied smiling once again at Chris.

"I don't eat nuts" he told her and she nodded taking the nuts with disappointment on her face.

Free nuts for the special order! What special order?

"You don't eat nuts?" He asked me and I smiled.

"You are allergic, so, we never ate nuts" I replied him, there was this look of amazement on his face.

We did a lot of things because of each other and didn't do a lot as well for the same reason. If he doesn't eat it, I wouldn't and vice-versa. Funny but that was it for us.

"So you don't eat nuts because I am allergic, wow!"

"Just as you don't pancakes but you did then because I do" I told him. Realization hit his face, it was like a solved a puzzle for him.

"What the! I don't pancakes but I find myself eating them for some reasons I didn't know." He replied completely amazed.

"Each time I try not eating them, there is a part of me that just pushes me to, like "Chris, you have to eat this". Just wow!" He added and I could help but laugh at how he explained.

He must have had a lot of things confusing him over the years, poor him.

"The Khloe effect, I guess" I told him and we both laughed.

Lunch went that way with me solving a lot of mystery for him and he staring at me amazed. There definitely were a lot of things about me that just didn't leave his memory, he just forgot the person. Crazy!

"We should do this often, I enjoy your company" he told me as he dropped me off at work.

"Sure!" I replied.

CHRIS LANDON

I returned to the hotel and Annie was busy watching TV as always while smoking cigarette. Her eyes darted to me the moment she heard me walk in, I was welcomed with that lovely smile of hers.

"See who finally came home" she said smiling.

"Yeah, went to see her" I replied. She sighed accompanied with an eye roll, she was against me getting close to Khloe, I guess.

"Chris, what are you doing? You're engaged!" She stated like I wasn't aware, like we weren't aware of our engagement when she sleeps around. Now I can't even be friends with a woman?

"I don't need you reminding me, I am fully aware" I replied her.

"You are just going to hurt her, hurt yourself" she told me.

Who says an engaged man can't have a female friend, where does the hurt comes in? I don't get why she is suddenly claiming her position. We weren't in love, why make things difficult.

"Annie, are you saying because we are engaged I can't have friends?" I asked her already getting pissed at her sudden possessiveness.

"No! But I know you, I know that look in yours eyes! It's the same when you met Ciara, where is she now?" She yelled at me with so much worry in her eyes.

I felt my eyes heavy with tears on the mention of Ciara. It's different this time though, Khloe is just a cool woman and kind of a part of me. I realized that today and I don't think I can stay away, as long as I don't end up in love with her.

"You shouldn't have mentioned her! In the end it was all because........"

"Because of me, I know" we were both yelling at this point.

"That is why I am telling you that the same will happen because you know your mother!" She added.

"You are getting it wrong, we are just friends" I told her defensively.

She laughed.

"Why do I feel this time you'd fall ever harder than you did with Ciara?"

"I can't" I told her

"I can't have a stable relationship, that's why I fuck around not because I like it! Same goes for you! That is our predicament Chris! The earlier you accept the better!" She said dumping her lit cigarette on the table as she stormed off.

I picked up the cigarette, killed it and quietly got seated replaying all of her words in my head knowing fully well that she was right. I was setting myself up for another heartbreak but what if I can make it work this time?

"Ciara died!" A voice in my head reminded me. I shook my head, getting the bad thoughts out.

It will be fine! I consoled myself.

KHLOE DIAMOND

The day was finally over, I got home and luckily for me, Kelvin already made dinner. He was setting the table when I walked in.

"Welcome" he greeted which I replied with a warm smile.

I went up to the bathroom, took a warm shower and came back for dinner.

"Don't tell me you were home all day" I asked him to which he replied with a nod.

"Why not hang out with your old friends? Jamil stays around" I told him.

"Want to keep myself busy with work, I'd better find a job" he replied. I nodded, fully understanding he wanted to keep himself distracted while at the same time building for future.

I bet if I didn't have to go to work I'd still be in my room crying over mom.

"That's fine, I can speak with someone I know to help you get something" I told him.

Dinner was over and I went up to me my room leaving him behind to watch whatever it was he was watching. I picked up a picture frame of mom, Kelvin and I as tears rolled down my eyes.

"I miss you mom! I can't believe I won't be able to speak with you or fight you anymore" I said running my hand over her face.
