"Why, I'm not calling you Kid, Kuroba, I'm stating that you are Kid." Hakuba sneered. Kaito sweat dropped. "I'm still not~" Kaito replied. Hakuba snorted. "Ahem." A voice coming from the bickering duo's right hand side cleared their throat. The half-brit and the magician looked in the direction of the sound. A mini detective glared back at the two. "We're standing at a Kid heist? Or have you forgotten?" Conan growled. Heiji shivered, happy that for once he wasn't on the receiving end of the glare. It wasn't nearly as scary as anything Haibara could pull off- there was a reason her nickname was the "Ice Queen"- ,But it still took the two by surprise.

"Of course not, Kudo!" Heiji declared, coming to a realization that the chibi was also talking to him. "Kudo?" Hakuba and Kaito question at the same time. Heiji's infamous 'I-done-derped' face appeared when he realised his mistake. "No! I said Kiddo!" Heiji quickly tried to recover. Hakuba's face was full of skepticism. "You, without a doubt, said "Kudo" and not "kiddo". Osaka-bend isn't that slurred." Hakuba stated. 'Oi, are you tryin' to say somthin'?' Heiji thought.

Conan yet again cleared his throat. "Oh, right. The heist." Hakuba stated. Meanwhile, Kaito had successfully sneaked away from Hakuba and the other detectives. 'Hmm. I wanted to talk with that magician. Oh well, I can find him later' "So not much investigation is needed in this situation, for the Kid gave us an easy round this time." Hakuba said, after looking around the room. "All I want to know is why this was so easy." "Must mean dat da person who committed dis heist wasn't Kid, but someone tryin' to poorly frame 'im. Oi, Ku-nan, are ya even listenin'?!?" Heiji deducted, turning around to see Conan lost in thought.

Suddenly, Conan's head popped up and he ran somewhere. Hakuba didn't give him much mind, but Heiji was confused. He shrugged it off, thinking that Conan was going to come back, anyway.

Kaito was now staring directly at a really fancy guy in a painting. Why? Because, someone had spilt punch or wine right on the guy's face. The longer Kaito stared at it, the more it looked like Hakuba, making Kaito giggle with glee. Maybe he could draw a moustache on i-"Excuse me!" He heard someone say behind him. Kaito turned around to see who was talking. He looked down and saw his favorite critic staring straight up at him. "Are you wearing anything that glows into the dark, or is reflective?" His tantei-kun asked. Kaito thought for a moment. "Well, I am wearing this pin, that is highly reflective, so I guess my answer would be yes." The magician replied.

Conan's face turned into a triumphant smirk. "Thank you!" He said to Kaito, and ran over to Heiji with his findings. He even had an idea of who did it,- once you knew the clues it wasn't hard to pin-point them out- "Hattori!" He called the attention of the Osakan over to him. He then preceded to tell him about his findings.

"The culprit is you!" Heiji pointed at an american who had come to watch the heist. Kaito's heart danced with pride, happy that his critics would not allow someone to pass off as him. The jewel in question, though, was something that he decided he would steal. It might be the Pandora, who knows? He decided not to listen to the deduction, it talking about how they utilized attention moving tricks to get the jewel, the american's possible accomplice, and the large flag pin the guy had pinned to his chest, ready to reflect light. But the unfortunate helper didn't see his partner's light, he saw Kaito's.

Kaito took this chance to slip away from the party undetected. While no one was looking, not even a visible security camera, he changed into his Kid costume, ready to test his improv. He waited for Heiji to finish explaining, and for the police to corner the faker. Now, he decided, was the time to make his entrance.

Conan heard someone applauding on the indoor balcony above him. He whipped around, wanting to see who was clapping, and his eyes widened in surprise. Kaito Kid was standing on the balcony, his trademark smirk resting on his face. A couple of the girls in the hall, including Sonoko, screamed in glee when they saw Kid. "Good job, Tantei-han, on catching who tried to impersonate me. I knew I was popular, but never knew it was enough to drive people to fake an identidy." Kid said. Suddenly, the lights shut off. "But this jewel still interests me, to say the least. So I would quite like to have a look at it." The lights turned back on, and Kid was now standing in front of the exit door, holding the Snow Queen' Spirit. "Bu-bye, my critics." He said. Kid then proceeded to smoke bomb his side of the room, dashing off.
