Chapter 20
Spencer McBride--->
______________________________
Thankfully my friends haven't found out about Spencer. It's Monday today and I'm dreading it. Darron's asked me whats wrong but I just shrug him off, there is no way I'm telling them this right now.
I already know what they'd do if they find out Spencer tried to take advantage of me.. well I actually don't know what they'd do. I just know he won't come out of it unharmed.
Sunday me and Jen did actually have our movie marathon and the boys joined us, but they came later on after I asked them to find out if my mom still has her pills. She finished the last bunch so tonight I'm going to try and give her some more.
Probably not going to work my mom is a stubborn woman, luckily I'm just like her. I quit my job at the diner, I said my goodbye to Todd and Melissa. They told me they actually were going to quit once I did and now they don't work there anymore.
They are both attending college full time and living with each other, I'm really happy for them though I feel guilty that I was the reason they stayed. Jacob tried to just give me money to help my mom but I refuse every time. He did however say he's helping me with moms pills today at least and I finally agreed, though I said I'm going to pay him back.
He found me a job at a place he trusted and let me tell you the pay is amazing. I haven't been there yet but I spoke with the owner on the phone, so for once my life seems normal, for now.
Jen and I walked up to our lockers getting our books for first period. "Hello ladies." Caleb chirped excitdely while draping an arm over mine and Jen's shoulders. "Hey Caleb." Once everyone was there we walked to class.
The first couple periods went by without much drama. I saw Spencer in some of the classes, he kept glancing at me but I simply ignored him. When lunch rolled around that's when shit went down. All of us were at our usual table talking and just thoroughly enjoying ourselves.
"Tori Bear can I please speak with you?" A voice said from behind me, I knew who it belonged to but I didn't aknowledge him. "Please Tori Bear can I just explain myself, please you're being unreasonable-" I cut Spencer off, finally losing it.
"Unreasonable! How dare you say I'm being unreasonable!" I was livid and I didn't care that we were drawing in a crowd. He tried to reach out for me but I just stepped back and glared at him. "Tori Bear I'm sorry okay! P-please forgive me." I was pushing down the guilt I felt for making him cry but he deserved it and so much more.
"Spencer I want you to leave and never speak to me again, I don't think I can ever forgive you for what you did. After knowing how I feel about it, what makes you think I would let you do that?" I needed an explanation.
"I stupidly believed Natasha that you would. I really am sorry Tori I just hope you can forgive me and I don't blame you for hating me. Bye Tori..." He trailed off and left. I wanted to say that I hated him but I just couldn't find it in me to.
I sat down ignoring my friends stares. "Tori-"
"I don't want to talk about it okay!" I got up and quickly left. I don't know where I was going but I just needed some air by myself. I walked out of the school and just started to walk not caring where or how long I walked.
By the time my friends had found me I was eating in a small diner that served my favourtie ice cream. Caramel and cookie dough. I knew I eventually had to tell them about what happened, they're my friends and they'd heard worse from me.
To say they were mad was an understatement but I made them promise that they could not harm Spencer. They weren't happy about it but they eventually agreed, though I'm sure they will try something.
We had stopped at the pharmacy after eating and I was utterly terrified seeing my mother. I just hope we won't have a huge argument, thats not something I need right now. So it's just me and the guys in the car right now, Jen said she couldn't come because she had a prior engagement. Who am I to stop her?
When we pulled to a stop by the guys' drive way we all stepped out. Me and Jacob walked a head of the other three who were arguing about someting. After a while you learn to deal with it. I hesitantly knocked on the door, I took deep calming breathes while waiting.
I heard noise inside but no one answered, just as I was about to knock again the door opened. There she stood looking the same as always. She was always beautiful unlike me. I envied my mother but it wasn't something I dwelled on for quite some time.
She had a bright smile on her face but it was soon replaced with a scowl and glare. Ignoring it all together I smiled at her. "Hi mom." If a persons glare could increase her's just did. "What do you want?" She asked bitterly while folding her arms over chest.
I knew the guys were all behind me but I nor mother paid them any attention. "Um, can we come in?" I asked while taking a hesitant step closer. "No." Was her simple response. "Um, o-okay. I-I brought you your medicine I know your's is finished so here."
I passed her the bag and she took it. I was relieved for a second until she threw the bag on the floor, spilling all the contents. "I told you I don't want your medicine with the money you get!" She hissed and yelled at me.
I crouched down to pick up all of the pills. "Excuse me ma'am but-" Foster would have gone further had it not been for me telling him to drop it. "Mom please just take it, Jacob gave me the money for it I promise." Still she would not take it.
You could see that she hadn't been taking any medicine since I'd last seen her. "See you can't even do anything for yourself, always relying on someone else for help!" I wanted to tell her she was wrong but I held my tongue.
"Mom please just take it, for me, your daughter, to know that you're healthy." She started to tear up and I knew I probably wasn't going to like where this was going.
"Why couldn't you have died instead of your brother! I would have never had these problems if he was here instead of you." I was taken back by her question/statement, though part me already knew she felt like this.
"That may be the worst thing you could ever say to me but I already knew you wished that. I know you loved him more than me but who could blame you. He was your first child and always will be, he wasn't so screwed up as me."
"He didn't get into so much trouble but even though it's all true I made him a promise that I would take care of you and dad. I already broke half of that promise I will not brake the rest of it so take the damn medicine and I promise you that you'll never have to see me again. Just take it please!"
I don't think I've ever been sad and happy at the same time when she took the pills. I gave her one last smile but before I left I turned to her. "If I could mom I would have let Ellie live and not me." Then I left my home, but it wasn't my home anymore, so my old house is what I should call it.
"You okay Tori?" Dalton asked me while pulling me in for a hug." I silently nodded and the others soon joined us in the group hug. I sniffled and pulled away from them, regaining my composure. "Hey do you two want to come inside? Our mom's been missing you Tori."
"Of course, I miss Tammy so much." Jacob agreed and we made our way inside. Once I stepped inside I was engulfed in a bear hug by none other than Tammy. I hugged her just as tight till we both couldn't breathe.
"I missed you so much my dear. How have you been?" We all sat down in the living room. "Oh I've been good thanks and yourself?" We talked and talked but I didn't mind I loved this household. This family. If only I could have what they have, even after what they been through, that I know of, they are still so strong.
I excused myself to refill the drinks, Tammy was going to do it but I turned down her offer. When I was in the kitchen and pouring the beverages, the door bell rang. "I got it!" I yelled. I first looked out the window to see a middle aged man, probably in his late forties.
He had brown hair that had grey streaks in them. He was very muscular but I think I could still take a guy like him on. I opened the door to greet the stench of alcohol. "Um, hi can I help you?"
"Yes I'd like to speak with Tammy Carson, is she here?" His words were slightly slurred, so he wasn't wasted thankfully. "Um yes she is but who are you?" I wasn't going to let a complete stranger in the house without me knowing who the hell he is.
'Well Missy, I'm-"
"Jeffery." I turned to come face to face with a very pissed off Foster.
"Hello son."
Shit it's his father!
