Chapter Two

Wow thanks for those reviews. Now here is chapter two. Don't worry, things should get more exciting eventually!

Chapter Two: Always Punished

Thanks to Elvira, I was stuck in the tent all day and night. She argued with my parents that letting go to the game was even worse than leaving me in the tent all day. So they changed their minds and told me I had to miss out on the game as punishment for returning four hours too late last night. Yeah right. Like I was going to sit still and miss out on watching the Quidditch World Cup. My family left me to go meet up with some of my father's work friends. They warned me Elvira or Dane would be passing by frequently to make sure I obeyed. So I settled for dragging out a chair from the kitchen and sitting right out in front of the tent. This way I 'technically' still was at my tent, yet I was able to be around people. Sighing, the sight of ash blonde hair passing by caught my attention. "Dasha!" I called out. She sharply turn, I noticed she had watery eyes. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, nothing," she said while walking over to me. She was wiping away a tear from her eye and smiling as if nothing was wrong. I gave her a look as if I knew something was wrong. "Okay, fine. I just saw Zane with Adelaide, the girl he..." Her eyes watered once more.

"I know, Eowyn told me you don't have to say it."

"Yeah." Dasha nodded. "Well, I didn't even think he'd be here but I should have expected it. And he brought her of course. I'm so stupid, I should have expected it." I've never seen her so upset over anything.

"Dasha you're far from stupid." I could tell her about all of the stupid things I have done to make her feel better.

"Anyways, this girl goes to Spellman Institute of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Melbourne, right near where Zane lives. Can you believe that? Plus, he is transferring to that school! His father pulled some strings with the Headmaster so that he could be closer to home." Dasha stopped talking. We both just sat there, I wanted to change the subject.

"So who do you thinks going to win tonight?" I asked her.

"Well if I don't say Ireland, Eowyn will kill me." I laughed, that was true. "Bulgaria has a pretty talented seeker though."

"Krum," I interrupted with a nod. I heard enough about him from Gabe last night. Dasha nodded in agreement. "I guess we'll have to wait and see then." That part was going to become true. I had to find a way to get into this game. Dasha's parents came by and she left with them. They invited me to come to their pre-party party, but I lied and said I was waiting for someone.

Sitting around outside my tent, I was almost falling asleep in my chair when someone caught my attention. "Ron!" I called standing up. Bright red hair was hard to miss in a packed crowd. Ron turned on his heel and spotted me. I saw he was with Harry and Hermione. I should have expected to see them pass. I stood up to hug them all. "How are you guys?"

"We're great Carlie, how are you?" Hermione said. She looked a little older than I remembered. She was wearing just a touch of makeup and had her hair clipped neatly on the side. "Glad to see you here, have good seats I suppose?" She said while eyeing the big tent behind me.

"I'm technically not going," I said while rolling my eyes. "My lovely parents allowed me to watch as they burnt my ticket in the fire place last night. They told me I was no longer allowed to go with them. Now I have no seat."

"That's too bad, we'd love to help you out but we don't have any extra seats around us. We barely got enough for all of us," Harry apologized truly. They've all been very generous to me over the years.

"Don't worry about it," I told him. "I mean, I'm sure I'll find some way to get in." I laughed, but that laugh was quickly interrupted.

"You think so?" I heard a cold voice from behind me. I turned to look into grey eyes and a familiar blonde. It was Draco Malfoy. He never seemed to surprise me. Every summer he seemed to look older. He was about a head over me as it was, and I thought I was tall. He still let his hair fall shaggy, but he most definitely had a new look about him. We stared at each other for a few moments.

"I know so," I replied coolly, when I realized Elvira was standing right behind him. I glared at my sister, how did these two possibly know each other? They looked a little too friendly for my liking.

"Scarlett, I see that you are out of the tent? Breaking the rules again?" Elvira spoke as she smirked walking next to Malfoy. "Draco, here, has told me all about you in school. Tend to break the rules a lot? Quite a klutz you are as well?" She laughed with a hint of fakeness. "We just had a wonderful lunch at the Malfoy's tent, it's too bad you missed it." She put her polished hand on Draco's shoulder. My face burnt up, yet Draco didn't seem bothered by it. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Missed me this summer, Scarlett?" he said using my full name and smiling at Elvira. The two seemed to hold back laughs. I glared at the pair of them. The sight of those two together was extremely aggravating.

"Hardly," I replied, jealous at the fact he was almost flirting with my sister. Wait, I wasn't jealous, was I? Because that would be weird. In fact, I think those two would be perfect for each other. They were both annoying as hell.

"I find that hard to believe. Draco here seems like he'd be an amazing friend. The fact that you two don't get along, well, that just says something about you," Elvira said glancing out of the corner of her eye at Malfoy and then deviously back to me. "Clearly you're the one with the issues."

"Far from it, actually," Ron said speaking up in my defense. Bless him. "If anyone has something off about them, it's this git right here." Ron said motioning towards Malfoy. I choked back a laugh alongside Harry.

"Charming friends Scarlett. And you are?" Elvira sneered glancing at the three around me. Her eyes coldly locked on Ron's.

"Ron Weasley," he stated at the same time Hermione proudly introduced herself as well.

"Harry," Harry began saying. "Potter." He added after a brief moment. Elvira's eyes quickly snapped over towards his and locked onto his face. She stared at him for a while before allowing a small chuckle to escape.

"Hilarious, really. What a joker you are. Think I'm stupid enough to believe that Harry Potter would talk to this girl." Elvira laughed motioning towards me. She continued staring at him as Harry moved back the long hair covering his for head. Elvira gasped at the sight of the lightning bolt scare. I managed to catch an angry look up Draco's face, he absolutely hated when Harry got the attention he felt he deserved.

"Come along Elvira," he said putting a hand on her shoulder and glancing over at me. "We don't want to be wasting our time talking to this lot." Saying nothing she simply turned around and followed him away. Elvira kept turning to look back though at Harry.

"Carlie who was that retched girl, she seemed to know you," Ron asked me once they were out of sight. I sighed.

"That," I began saying, yet I desperately did not want to, "was my sister." They all looked at me as if I was kidding. Harry raised his eyebrows in disbelief.

"I didn't know you had a sister," Harry said in a question like tone. I just shrugged, not really knowing what to say.

"Yeah, that's interesting. You too look absolutely nothing alike," Hermione began saying. "I mean, in most families children tend to have at least some similar coloring." Again I just shrugged, the fact that I was the only blonde and dark eyed person in my family was something I never had an answer too. When I was younger I would ask my parents, but I would always get screamed at or cold remarks.

"You can see why I don't talk about her much then," I answered. Ron nodded in agreement.

"Ron! Harry! Hermione!" Ron's father called as he stood alongside Ginny. "Hurry, we must be getting to our seats. It's beginning to look a bit crowded!" After saying their goodbyes they promised to try and catch up with me later. I hoped they did, I was started to feel lonely.

Bitterly I slumped back down into my wooden chair. It was beginning to get dark and the tents around me were deserted. Terrific. The match was entirely sold out, people waited all year to get tickets to this event. I wouldn't be able to squeeze into a random seat. From the tent, I saw as the fireworks began signaling the game was about to begin. Well, at least from where I was sitting you could see the top of the arena. Maybe I'd be able to see some of the game.

As I looked around, I began to notice something a bit strange. I watched as two people dressed entirely in black passed by quickly. Their cloaks were long and dragging. Was Draco pretending to be a dementor again? I stood up and took a few steps, yet I lost their trace. Feeling a bit scared, I backed up towards my seat when I crashed into another body. I let out a quick and piercing scream.

"OW!" A voice yelled. I turned to see Jake standing there covering his ear. "Way to burst my eardrums."

"Sorry, but way to scare the hell out of me!" I yelled and slapped him on the side of the shoulder. "Anyways, what are you doing here? The game is starting isn't it?" Jake rubbed his shoulder and held up a ticket.

"Yeah, and I saw your family from across the way but didn't see you. So I figured you got in trouble for being out with us last night. So, I felt a little guilty and when I found out Gabe wasn't sitting with us anymore, you were the first one I thought of." He said proudly holding up the ticket.

"Wait, what happened to Gabe?" I asked confused. They had really good seats too, why would he give that up.

"He bumped into a few of the players from the Sweetwater All-stars and basically fanned over them for hours. I think they either loved the attention or felt bad for him, so they invited him to sit in their box." I laughed at that. Typical Gabe. It was his life dream to be on their team. "So, you coming or not?" I doubt Elvira or anyone would leave the game to come and check if I was still here. I nodded, this worked out better than I thought. As long as I was back before they were, that's all that matters. We could make it work.

"They'll probably kill me after this escape," I admitted, not really caring what my parents did anymore.

"Well, school starts in a few days, what worse could happen?" I nodded at that. True, school did start in a few days. They basically planned on leaving me here when they all went back home and I had to somehow board the train myself. I would figure it out like I always did, but for now I would enjoy the fact that I got to go to the game. "We'll get you back before they do. I bought these super binoculars from Fred and George, we can keep an eye on them if they move." Perfect, so I had nothing to worry about.

Any thoughts? Suggestions for what should be done in this story? thanks!
